i think straight out of the box, ephilim are definitely better, but after a few modification, i feel like domitan is as good, or even better, because they score a lot of glory passively. Specially if you combined with the other spell deck that comes in the box.
As somebody who have 18+ games with Ephilim, I think you were too harsh on Neferavioaus Defences, Tentacles and Spiteful Mouths. First saved my Ephilim decent amount of times both from attack and pings, and helped towards making Reckless Pact (upgrade from GA stuff) better, while third works even if Changer dies basically.
Always value your competitive input! I'll reevaluate the cards =) my argument is that the opponent will know of the reactions at hand and hence make sure enough damage is dealt to shut down the reactions or choose another target etc. and thats why I personally would choose cards with more reliable usages or advantages than the occasional reaction that may or msy not come into play. But as I said, I value your input and if you've found them to be useful that says alot.

By being telegraphed, those upgrades became worse, but Nefarious flexible due to window happening during an attack (better than after activation or attack) and being available on every fighter, while tentacles can either be really annoying in combo with defence or heal changer that got damaged from nefarious. Especially tentacles will be annoying on Kindlefinger as example. Mouths in return need some luck in terms of rolls, but your guys rolls two dices most of the time, so not a bad upgrade either.
