Warcraft (2016) - Gul'dan vs Durotan: Mak'gora [4K] 

All the orc scenes are gold in this movie. It's feel more real than any of the human acting.

My jaw dropped down when Guldan took off his cape. I wasn’t expecting such an athletic beast instead of an old sorcerer orc.

Also, the CGI is just incredible. All of the details and design is just a super eye candy.

I love how terrible the Life Drain is. Reducing the hale and hearty Durotan to this shrunken, thin skinned husk in seconds. Really drives home just how horrific the fel magic was.

Durotan is one of those characters that deserves a way better movie.

I like that Gul'Dan actually does the first drain on accident He's like "SHIT I DIDNT MEAN TO DO THAT", but then when he needes to end the Mak'Gora to go on with the portal plan he's like "whatever lets finish this"

"This won't take long." *one minute later* "I have no time for this!!"

This fight was badass. Two massive hunks of muscle going at it. The snarling and weight of the hits made it feel so brutal.

2:14 if you pay VERY close attention to Gul'dan's facial expressions you can actually see that he didn't do the first life drain on purpose, it just became kind of a reflex for him to do it after having abused fel magic for so long!! try slowing the footage down! 3:15 even more amazingly, Gul'dan actually seems ready to spare Durotan's life at this point as he is being called out for cheating, he only kills Durotan after Durotan specifically provokes him to do so. Durotan was baiting Gul'dan to kill him in order to show all the orcs what a monster Gul'dan truly is, and Gul'dan took the bait hook, line and sinker.

I love how Gul'dan goes from cripple to thai box champion in about 0.1 seconds

"You will follow...this thing? Will you? You will follow this demon?! I will not! I follow a TRUE ORC! A Chieftan." Damn man, considering this is basically a cartoon, that got me in the feelies.

Damn, that "Guldan!" At 3:29 was so full of emotion..really felt how desperate durotan was and how much he despised guldan .great voice work :) and great audio all around.. hehe his shout even echoed on

This movie was underrated tbh. It's basically a 2 hr long cinematic.

That leg/ hand block with the 3 striking combo plus the war cry gave me chills

"Gul'dan cheats!" "He cheats!" "Shame on you!" "TRAITOR!"

The orc scenes looked like a WoW cinematic. Loved every second of it. The human campaign sucked.

7 years later and this CGI work is still better than 90% of what's out there today.

The only consolation is, Gul'dan was torn to fuckin' shreads by Demons when he opened the tomb of Sargeras, so he got his.

I think my favorite part of this fight is that when the orcs call Gul’dan a cheater… he’s visibly ashamed of it. As we see a minute later, he probably has little to no actual fear of losing control of the army over this breach in protocol; but for however detached he has become from his culture, there’s still a part of him that hates that he couldn’t win that fight fair and square. And when Durotan tells him he has no honor, he snaps and kills him (in that same “cheater” way no less), instead of leaving him drained and beaten like he seemed to be planning to. From there he was in a bad enough mood to kill anyone who defied him, but what stood out to me is that he bestowed the Fel on Blackhand without the permission that he had ostensibly waited for up to this point. Which, in addition to being one of my favorite line deliveries by Daniel Wu, perfectly encapsulates how Gul’dan’s influence and his new brand of “power” is corrupting the very culture of the orcs. He has an objective and he’s going to achieve it, even when it costs him the respect of his people, and his respect for himself. This movie’s far from perfect, but it has a lot better writing than people give it credit for (the orc parts anyway lol) Anyway, I guess this has been my ‘One Villainous Scene’ contribution, thanks for reading lol

Attentive viewers have noticed Gul'dan expressed shock after first using his magic, indicating he used it on a reflex without meaning to and was frightened about the orcs seeing him for the cheater he is after he previously derided Black Hand for retreating, saying it wasn't the orc way. Something else I feel is worth pointing out is that Gul'dan killed the three orcs who tried to leave much faster than he did Durotan. He was intentionally prolonging Durotan's death out of spite for his defiance. He of course played in Durotan's hands since Gul'dan showing his cruelty meant the only hold he had over the Horde was through fear.

"A warrior is not made with magic, he is forged in battle" Magic has no place in an honor duel, Gul'dan was a coward. Blackhand didnt want the "gift" it was thrust upon him. damn fine movie though, sad sad scene this. almost all the orcs were infected with the death magic.

I know Doomhammer's speech wasn't much but the moment he says "demon" is a nice touch for future development that will never come. One could even call it foreshadowing.

Dura’tan had so much character depth I wish this movie continued. Played by a great actor.

I dont know why, but this was one of the most gruesome and sad deaths I've ever saw in a movie...

This movie was so good, it is unbelievable people didn't go to watch it

Just noticed at 2:17 Gul'dans look of "oh shit" after just using his drain essence magic on Durotan during a Mak'gora.

I was actually quite surprised how strong Gul'dan was. He may have been old and a Warlock but he still knew how to throw hands. He was up against Durotan though so he couldn't win without using Fel magic. If it were any other ordinary orc I'm certain he would have floored them.

The new Shrek movie looks great

IDGAF about anyone that hated this movie. I personally enjoyed it.

It's been a while since I saw this, but my impression was that no-one challenged Gul'dan because he was too powerful; yet everyone must have known that his power was useless in a fist-fight challenge without being accused of cheating, and when he DID cheat everyone was surprised, knowing that it was/should have been the death knell for his reputation.

The beginning of the fight, those combos, brother I felt them on a spiritual level

So they were all ready to leave his service, then he farts a bolt of lightning and they are all on board again guess action does speak louder then words.

I personally enjoyed this movie.I never understood why people complained about it.The actors were good,the CGI too. Instead of being a hardcore Warcraft lore fan,watch this as a movie inspired by the lore. This movie did what it was supposed to do,giving just the basic explaination about whats happening and setting up for the sequels where everything will be explained in detail. P.S-Its funny that people disliked a good movie such as this,yet call a disappointing movie like Avengers:Endgame great.

really love this movie, everything was great from actors to the whole concept, though Blizzard should have showed more clarification about this world in the early stage . Hope they will have the next one with a better scenario

It upsets me that they still haven't made a part two!!!! I honestly REALLY ENJOYED this movie!! I never got into the games or the "Lor" of Warcraft but this movie really got my attention from start to finish!!!!

Just bought this movie and loved it. Only thing I don’t like about it is that I want to play Warcraft again.

I love the scene at the end where its a slow motion battle happening in the background yet the main characters are having a conversation in normal time

I never understood the ending of this scene, what was the purpose of Durotan's death, it looked like at the end there his sacrifices was justified as Gul'Dan used Fel to win , disgracing him , and every orc started to turn his back on him, but suddenly 3 orcs talk shit to Gul'Dan he kills them in cold blood , and instead of being zerg rushed, everybody is like "welp he max ILvL warlock better do as he says and pretend this whole durotan thing never happened". Its so weird.

This could be the best movie based on games if only it lasted 3 hours. And this scene is one of the greatest of all time

I heard so much crap about this movie but man that was a badass scene if you ask me. You really feel the world of orcs here and the cgi is dam good also

We need "WarCraft part 2"😞

When I watch this scene I see different orcs with different marks, builds and attitudes, blizz has given us this with the recently introduced maghar orcs with different skins, paintsmarkings but I still wished we could make our own bodybuilds on our characters like making them hulking monsters like blackhand, or skinny warlock/rogues or slim blademasters/warsongs like Samuro or Crom Hellscream->(according by book/lore-descriptions).

One of the reasons I really enjoyed this movie was the complexity of the Orcs. Usually written off as the faceless swarm of bad guys, here they are portrayed as having a rich culture and actual motivations for their conquest. Far from generic bad guys, the Orcs here are complicated and actual characters. I particularly love how traditionalist the Orcs are. Even Gul'dan's staunchest supporter, Blackhand, refuses to break their traditions and is disgusted by Gul'dan cheating by using magic during their ritual single-combat. TLDR: Underrated movie imo.

At first Guldan questions Blackhand's honor in orc traditions. When Guldan wants to quit to go to another world: Blackhand: "Get your ass back in there, keep fighting, and respect our traditions!" Blackhand is one for traditions alright.

I wish they would have made all the characters CGI, the human actors weren't very good in this but the Graphics and everything else was really cool!

Rewatching this, this reminds me of a Swords and Sandals fight. The shouting makes it fit even better.
