Unless Yogg Saron intentionally made his name into an anagram so that those who solved it thought they found the truth and in turn ignore the real mastermind behind it all! Oh my Goood, HL3 confirmed! Just joking, btw. ;p
***** I doubt the Lich King was manipulated by the Old Gods. Arthas would never let himself be somebody's tool. True, he served Ner'zhul for some time, but when he got everything what he wanted from him he aborbed him. During the figth with Yogg-Saron, when we see those visions in his brain, the Old God says: "He will learn: no king rules forever! Only death is eternal!" If it was manipulating Arthas, I doubt it would have wished him death. Also, notice that the Cataclysm, the return of Deathwing, the Old God's mightiest servant, happened almost right after the death of the Lich King (actually, in between those two there was also the War Against the Nightmare, which was also one of Old Gods plans). Seems to me that the Lich King posed a threat to them, and they waited until he was out of the picture. The Scourge used Saronite because they had learned how to, not because they were Yogg's servants. Later the Ashen Verdict also learns how to use it, don't they?
Have I? Lord Uther, by my right of succession and the sovereignthy of the crown, I hereby relieve you of your title and dispense your Paladins of service! You've just crossed a terrible threshold, Arthas...
Have I? Arthas Arthas, by my Arthas of Arthas and the Arthas of the Arthas, I hereby relieve Arthas of your Arthas and dispense your Arthas of Arthas !
You need to make more. Period. Even though I know the majority of these, they are still cool to see and probably other ppl might find it interesting. Continue it for the Orc campaign and the expansion!.
Yeah, and it's pretty nice to see that the person is looking at all this and getting a ton of information on the previous games that's been implemented in WoW. It only shows that Crendor's true objective has been achieved: Having fun on WC3 and learning more about the lore.
wow that part in lordaeron where you can hear the sounds from the cinematic in the actual game, that is sooo cool! I NEVER knew that xD, damn awesome vid crendor! Good idea :D!
Back in Vanilla when the developers didn't know if WoW would sink or swim they put in a TON of neat Easter eggs like this JUST to amuse themselves and ultra lore nerds (like myself) For example www.wowwiki.com/Corrupted_Ashbringer JUST sayin' ......
BlaQ Ya it was actually referenced outside of WoW before it was ever introduced in game. The whole story of mograine, the ashbringer and the founding of the scarlet crusade was made BEFORE it was put into WoW in a graphic novel. That's the Easter egg part I was referring to. No doubt it is a legit item that has it's place in lore, don't get me wrong I wasn't trying to suggest it wasn't. I merely meant the whole idea of players being able to loot it was a bit of a wink to the lore, as for a loooooooooooong time players thought they would somehow be able to purify it 9despite everything the Devs said to the contrary that they had put it in as kind of a joke and a nod to outside lore) and wield an uncorrupted ashbringer. It did in fact cause so much confusion in the player base it was removed. (rather than being translated into an equivalent item for wrath when naxx was relaunched).
You forgot to visit the Dalaran crater in Hillsbrad! If you do, there's a hill nearby where you can find the magic circle Archimonde drew when he destroyed the city at the end of the Undead campaign.
8:50 - Crendor what are you talking about? Arthas defeated Illidan and left him to die outside the Icecrown Citadel, who was later saved by the Kael'thas and Vashj and left to hide in Outlands. Also pretty neat video. But I feel the title is a bit misleading. It's specifically Arthas story from War 3 in WoW, nothing else. If you want to relate entire War3 events in WoW you would have to make 1-2 hour long video... On the side note it amazes me how such a Warcraft enthusiast as yourself only now after 14 years learned about War3 Lore. Don't relate us into being similar Crendor, you are one of the kind :P
As a Warcraft lore lover whose been a fan of the story for years and years now, especially the Sin'dorei, I very much knew Dar'khan Drathir was the traitor of Quel'Thalas. He was a power hungry elven magister in the Convocation of Silvermoon (advisers to King Anasterian) that succumed to the whispers of the Lich King in search of power. He disabled one of the elven runestones that protected Quel'Thalas to allow Arthas through the kingdom.
Probably obvious, but if you haven't noticed, a HUGE amount of buildings in WoW are big versions of the buildings in WC3. Some of the most obvious are the orc watchtowers dotted around horde territory, and the hundreds of different human barracks you need to go through for various quests.
6 y/o comment I know- What's funny is I just got into WoW (for the first time) within the last week -largely because I watched your easter egg video for like the 12th time and I wanted to see some of them in person. Since then I've been hopping around WC RU-vid only to find you here haha
I love these little things, the little throwbacks, lore Easter eggs, and everything like that. It just shows how dedicated the team can be, how they care for the story and immersion and whatnot. Sure, not much of that recently, but still, like, having that throwback of that track that plays at the end of the WoD glue screen song was pretty badass, even if the expansion itself wasn't for the most part :P
Don't forget when you do part 2 of this video to start right where you left off in ashenvale. The first reference should be the Warsong lumber camp which you JUST finished building with Grom. ;)
You're right, though I think possibly the saddest is "Have you seen my dog....? Where is that dog...." Especially if you know the voice actor's story....
Oh the original Sven Yorgen/Jitters quest line from Vanilla was also a good one. I was so mad that Blizzard retconned it and tacked on the Worgen storyline.
It is not so sad anymore as they tagged on a happy ending. In vanilla, they just left it hanging with pamela apparently doomed to wander through the ruins alone for all eternity. No resolution. It was depressing to say the least.
0:25 if you look closely at the bottom right corner, you can see the Huntard in it's natural habitat. Rushing in head first, into a bunch of melees. Nice move, champ!
Thank you for the names. Thuassarian has a book and alot of ingame apperances. Falric and Marwynn are dungeon bosses. Falric was the captain from the very beginning of the Human Campaign to the end. Falric and Marwynn are the 2 "escorts" of Arthas during the Cinematic
It was really great for those of us who started playing WoW in the old days after finishing Warcraft III. Seeing all of these connections was a wonderful experience - and I feel that it is something that the more recent expansions sorely lacked.
SangoProductions21 I'm just saying, if your job involves a certain product, it pays to know more about that product because you can create more in-depth content. Now he can make more interesting machinima because he can base the plot of them around the lore (if he wants) and insert lore-related jokes and stuff.
You'd be surprised how many players know nothing about the lore. A lot of people just play for raiding and for friends, not paying attention to lore at all
I'm currently watching your series on doing all of Warcraft III. I'm only on Episode 8, but I'm a huge lore nerd (who hasn't played through any of the earlier Warcraft games) and you're making a genre of game that I wouldn't enjoy, enjoyable to watch.
4:25 fun fact, we actually pick up Arthas' hammer and use it to create Shadowmourne to face the lich king. (Shadowmourne being a legendary.) And when we try to get it, the lich king tries to stop us
Anderhal isn't being rebuilt (: It's been taken over by Sylvanas! That is why you should have done this zone for your lvling, it is probably THE coolest quest line in the game :D
MissSatsuji If u see the video then you will come to understand, but o well it says: This entire city must be purged, how can you even consider that Arthas.
Make a sequel for this. You did well describing all these details that many players didn't know about concerning the connections of WC3 and WoW. Well done!
Good video. I always thought the little ghost boy was the image of Arthas' humanity which is talked about in the books with the scene of Arthas on the throne still in cased in ice with Ner'Zhul whispering in his ear and the little boy on the other side. His name is an anagram for Arthas Menethil and they boy leads you to his heart so that you can try use it against Lich King Arthas. But that is just how I always saw it.
In saying this, if you do another video for this Crendor the quest-line with the boy basically shows a lot of lore for Arthas betraying his men and his fight against Illidan.
Thromash There are a TON of quest lines like that in wrath. The one to reclaim the forgotten shore, the one to witness how Arthas claimed frostmourne (where we learn that Muradin is still alive) etc etc. Lots of great stuff to cover. PS. You are quite correct about the little boy. In the novel Arthas: Rise of the Lich King it is almost expressly stated that the little boy is Arthas' human side. (The book IS considered cannon btw) It is by removing his heart that Arthas slays his humanity (He then turns around and slays Ner'zuhl taking full control of himself. I believe he even says something like "now there is no more We, only I Arthas." Which fits nicely with Warcraft 3 as when he is death knight Arthas one of his more common emotes is " No one, orders ME around.")
kopitarrules Yep, that was the scene I was thinking of. These are some of the many reasons why I loved Wrath. Mostly though because Lich King Arthas was my favorite character just above Illidan.
Thromash Agreed. Arthas is probably my number one favvourite lore character in Warcraft. Followed closely by Kael'thas. I just love the idea of the tragic hero who, despite having the best intentions, finds themselves on a path of destruction. The fact that we have yet to see either of those two redeemed in a storyline (in the same way blizzard redeemed Medivh) is still a great disappointment to me. Oh well future expansions of WoW perhaps? lol
I enter and spit on his dirty tomb =P But I do kneel at the site where Grom slew Mannoroth. A true hero of all orcs, even if Blizzard has forgotten what he is.
I love the fact that Crendor is picking up on all this stuff, fleshes the game out so much more. I remember seeing a lot of these places when I started in vanilla after finishing warcraft 3 and i was amazed haha
goddamit crendor, stratholme isnt burning anymore, it was taken back by the silver hand (or whatever their name is, the paladin dudes) back in vanilla, we helped them, blizz is just too lazy to actually change this in game
the warcraft 3 content win WoW is basically what kept me playing WoW. When the Cataclysm hit I didn't play much and quit after that, but before that I was really happy with the old content :). Stratholme where the massacre occured, Dragonblight where Arthas's fall was sealed, Quel'thalas where the Scourge marched, Ashenvale where Mannoroth's broken blade still foats in mid air, the dark portal in Blasted lands, Karazhan (still favourite raid), Felwood where Illidan fought demon's and became one, and of course Icecrown Citadel with the Lich King himself where I achieved my highest raiding status (25 heroic Sindragosa downed before nerf). Those were the days. Really loved that content and was really invested in that story. But now the story has changed drastically :( I thought WoW's future would be us taking the fight to the demons themselves, may be even reaching to their homeworld. Instead we got pandas and time traveling... I don't blame Blizzard for chosing this if this is what makes them more money. Money is God and it ensures Blizzard's future. But I can't help but feel disappointed - disappointed enough to not play it any more. Nevertheless, I still love the old content and love it when others (like yourself Crendor) appreciate that content so I would wholeheartedly love it if you make more videos like this. There is definitely enough content to warrant a lengthy series :)
I kinda agree with you even tho i played Cataclysm and enjoyed it if not bcs of lore then bcs of how raids and dungeons were a lot more difficult than in wotlk.I have never played pandarian nor the wod so i cant say anything bad about them it just seems they are stretching the story so the one of the the most famous MMORPG game doesn't end so quickly. And they thought that ppl will be interested in the wod and seeing the Draenor before it got destroyed.I mean they cant be doing this forever but still. They still have a lot possibilities for next expansions like idk return of the LK, for example i saw in one WoW book a sentence like this "LK was defeated and his place took Bolvar Foredragon where he sits on the frozen throne and watches over scourge , for now..." or maybe expansion where you fight another old god? There are a lot of possibilities and there is one quite interesting.Maybe you have heard already for the relations of the old gods to some book called Cthulhu Mythos where there are creatures similar to old gods. When u look to the names Chtulhu=C'thun ,Yog-Sothoth=Yogg-Saron and if u read it there is more of them and one is really interesting to us Azathot. So maybe Azathot=Azeroth? Is the last old god Azeroth itself who lies deep into world?Who knows.Ofc there are demons and sargeras but will end it here ,my comment is way 2 long.
***** even though you are way past the level for ANDORHAL in the Western Plague Lands in your wow leving lets play, you should totally check it out, the quests there are awesome. It has a thrown back from the DK's starting zone, and you get to see a three way fight and find out what happened to the town all these years later.
Something else worth looking into possibly, is that the two guards from the Terenas cinematic now guard frostmourne's pedestal inside Ice Crown Citadel, The Halls of Reflection. Also if you quest at Fordragon hold you can eventually get to a dwarf who gives you quests to talk to the ghosts on the Forgotten Shore, and then see a couple cinematics from that WC3 mission WoW-ized.
Grant Messler Arthas defeated Illidan, who he thought would die from the wounds of the battle. Arthas rushed to the Icecrown Spire, though, and Illidan managed to get away.
The Zenox I don't really understand why did Kil'jaeden let Illidan live after this failure. Kil'jaeden is known for his forgiveness for failing agents, but Illidan simply ran away to Karabor, why didn't they rip him apart like Ner'zhul?
TheUselessKnight um... didn't you notice the armies of demons of Burning Legion around Outland when you played Burning Crusade? They were there for Illidan. Kil'jaedan sent them after him. He cannot just pop himself in his full power into another world. That cutscene at the end of blood elves campaing where Kil'jaedan speaks to him was most likely a projection rather than the real him. As for Ner'zhul, he was caught while using a portal, one of many he had opened, without controling where they led. Kil'jaedan used his magic and telepathic to subtly led him to him rather than anywhere else in the universe.
Been playing WoW for 4 year now, and have watched HuskStarcraft's W3 playthrough but I never knew any of these connections! Thank you so much for this, was amazingly informative and has made me more interested in even more connections.
I think Warcraft's story must be the sprawliest (it's a word cuz I said so, lol) and most complicated of any game world. It's so much more complicated than The Elder Scrolls, for instance. Can anyone think of another game world that requires the player to read a stack of novels to understand it? No one should be surprised that many players don't know the lore. I've been learning a lot watching this play through series. Thanks Crendor!
Soladrin I should have said video game. I've played table top and LARP games that had massive worlds with massive gaming books requiring study. But can you think of an original video game not based on a pre-existing franchise like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings? I think the best comparison to WoW is TES, they have a lot in common, but WoW's lore is much more complicated.
Well the thing is, Warcraft has been built over 20 years with a fully fleshed out MMO world, which explores nearly every nook and cranny. No other game has that, the elder scrolls online doesn't really explore the world as thoroughly as WoW explores its world. Maybe in a few years we could say the same about TES but honestly, there aren't really any strong characters in that universe.
Zei33 Not the Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), The Elder Scrolls (TES) series of video games (the franchise). Both Blizzard and Bethesda released their first iteration in 1994; Bliz with "Orcs and Humans" and Beth with "Arena". Both franchises have been releasing expansions on the same universe/lore at more or less the same pace ever since. Both Azeroth and Nirn have a complicated pantheon of creator "gods" and destroyer "gods". An interesting difference is that Blizzard tells us what is lore cannon, while the lore of TES is told through in game books written by unreliable sources with various points of views and agendas. You would think that would make TES more difficult to piece together but it's actually a pretty simple world mostly based in race/faction politics. Blizzard and Bethesda are really THE pioneers of deep lore in video games. They both were inspired by D&D to bring RPG storytelling to life in a video game environment. And as far as I can tell, nobody has ever done it better than Blizzard and Bethesda (ESO is incidental, it's really a spin off game made by a different company and technically doesn't have to be cannon to TES).
Not sure anyone is gonna see this, but the ghost boys name is Matthias Lehner which is an anagram of Arthas Menethil. He gives a quest chain that walks you through Arathas's actions leading up to and through his fight with Illidan. This includes you playing as Arthas as you turn your loyal soldiers into the first scourge knights, the raising of Sindragosa, and the fight with Illidan. Matthias is the little remaining humanity Arthas had till he discarded his heart. The quest chain ends with Tirion Fordring destroying the heart and the player, he, and the group he brought fleeing through a portal form a very hurt and very angry Lich King.
Crendawg! I have to say you missed a part of the Orc Campaign. In the test version of Warcraft was a 3 Chapter Campaign of the Orc Journey between the 2 Campaigns from the main story. You will find Sen'jin and the Darkspear trolls there. To play this Campaign go Singleplayer>Custom Campaign. Vote this up if you want him to play how the Trolls come to the Horde!
These are the reasons why I play WoW. Please make more of these, everyone might have missed a few of these. And please show people a clip of the Thrall and Grom against Mannoroth fight and the place they fought in WoW, which is in the southeast of Ashenvale.
Saying the lore have 'ties' for WoW with Warcraft (I, II, III) isn't correct. WoW essentially is the re-telling and continuation of the franchise as a whole. I do hope they would make Warcraft IV though. WoW is fine sure, but I want my RTS campaign goodness back. Imagine RTS Warcraft with StarCraft II graphic, that would be sick.
It's awesome to see you get really invested into the lore of the game. I grew up with Warcraft as an RTS and had my fun with WoW and it's interesting seeing you work everything from the future to the past. I'd love to see you make more content like this and I'm REALLY looking forward to you reading Lord of The Clans. I hope you eventually go back and play Warcraft II or even Warcraft I but I'm not sure how many would watch that.... I know I would though.
Cool video, I enjoyed it. Question time, I know WC3 set up a lot of stuff for WoW, so does that mean things in WC1 and 2 are also locations that can be found in WoW? Its been ages since I've played the first 2 and only just recently (bout 3-4 months ago on and off) started playing WoW. I know it might seem like a dumb question, the only reason I ask is WC1&2 were made (what I assume) WAY before WoW was even a spark of an idea to Blizz. Seems like post 2 and pre 3 they might have though about expanding it into a full blown world that WoW became.
It all depends on the locations, a large portion of lore areas stated in games, books etc. aren't currently available in WoW but are said to be in future. Such as Kul Tiras
David Simmons was just currious how far back they went with it. Hell, it's been so long since I played the first 2 (even 3 for that matter, but I recently got it again to run through when I have time) that I dont really recall the story for the first 2. Haven't gotten around to reading any of the novels but I do have Arthas's book just in case (once again) I ever get enough free time to read it. Life's too short, too much to see, do, play, read, etc before we go bye bye. Maybe one day.
David Simmons really would like to see another traditional Warcraft RTS again one day. I'm sure it would be tricky to do with WoW constantly going on and expanding the world. A man can dream I suppose.
Most of the Warcraft 1 and 2 story is in and around Lordaeron as well. When the orcs invaded they took stormwind and burned it to the ground, making young varian and those of the population that luthor could save flee by boat to lordaeron. Then there is the beyond the dark portal stuff where nur'zhul attempts to open more portals from outland using relics of power from azeroth so we invade outland and blow up the portal in our attempt to stop him (which is why the alliance has the keep in hellfire at the beginning of BC, that is the same base camp they first set up)
Thanks for the replies so far, info is much appreciated. Maybe one of these days/months/years I'll get caught up. Story in RPGs is what turned me on to them originally back in the day. Most my friends could never grasp why I enjoyed playing them so much. Needless to say they weren't big on reading so they stuck with other genres. My dad used to joke with me about how I was always playing "walking games" cause thats all he ever saw me doing.
Man, the amount of treats you will find of lore-relevance in the last two campaigns and especially the Frozen Throne... Promise, you gonna love it! And personally I always enjoyed the orc Kalimdor campaign the best, the story is both deep and heartwarming, and I can't recall single bad mission in that campaign game play wise either.
Since I never played WoW, to see these things is just awesome. If i could watch WoW like a movie, i would be interested in it, as an MMO it just has no charm to me. So, please, keep these videos up, I love them and they immerse me deeper into the lore of the whole Warcraft universe.
Lies, Terenas can not be in that tomb, Terenas was cremated, and Uther had his ashes in a magic urn Arthas got the urn to put Kelthuzad remains, and he droped his father ashes on the floor, no way someone gathered the ashes from the grass near Uther's body.
Well in the book they didn't said what happened to other paladins who was in king's funreal with Uther. Maybe they picked up the ashes with their helmets and runned back to ruins of capital fought the undead and buried them there.
Thank you for making this. Even though I only recently played through WCIII for the first time, I didn't pick up on all the town/city names which are now that little bit more relevant to me. I would love more videos like this =D!
+Craziguy33 Well I'd come up with tons of cooler ideas than pandas and fucking time traveling. I mean, the pandaren were there since Warcraft III but dedicating a whole expansion to them? Come on, Blizzard, they could have just been a minor race like the Tuskarr. Cataclysm wasn't really that bad story-wise, it followed the Old Gods theme from Wrath but they could have made the connection between the two expansions a bit stronger. What I think would be cool after Cataclysm is a naga expansion with Queen Azshara, N'zoth and a small island of Pandaria. Also, shoulders resembling a living parrot would be cool but that's besides the point.
+Deehvad Nothing. Not finding nowadays lore epic doesn't mean everyone should feel and think the same. Don't you realise that maybe someone enjoys post-wotlk lore? Nop because your opinion is everything that matters. Whatever.
One of the reasons I brought WoW back in 2005 was because I wanted to see all those places I knew from the Warcraft RTS games. I was pretty sweet. Nice video Crendor, pretty much summing up one of the reasons I love WoW
How cool would it be if they made WC4 (and its expansions) to bridge the gaps in WoW. For example, you could play Garrosh as he escapes prison and raises up an army in an alternate universe to fight Mannoroth. It would be fun to play as the bad guys in Warcraft lore again.
Google-should-have-never-bought-RU-vid There was an announcement a few years ago that a high up Blizzard employee claimed they would start work on WC4 when they had finished with all content for Starcraft 2
MyShauno Hmm. I highly doubt that. From everything I've heard. They wouldn't want to stop support WoW to be able to release Wc4. And where would Wc4 even take place, after Wc3? After the latest expansion in wow? It's going to piss off people, either way they do it. I think the boat has sailed, and that anything lore-wise they intend or might have intended for Wc4 is going into WoW instead.
I love these references being pointed out. because i dont really have the strength or patience to go back in WoW and find them myself anymore. Continue making WC videos, they are quite awesome! Maybe go back and do the previous warcraft games, as I havn't been able to get my hands on them myself and it would be really good to get the lore in, especially now that Warlords of Draenor is coming (WC2 and its expansion especially) Thanks for the great video, Crendawg :)
I knew about the bells from the cinematic being played in the Undercity, I didn't know that you could hear Arthas and Terenas speaking there though. Also, I like that Terenas's tomb is not ruined. It seems the Forsaken have some respect for him.
After you end orc's campaign - go visit Mannoroth's and Hellscream's tomb in Ashenvale (if it is still there, haven't played after cata revamp much). Also back in Undercity, when you were walking that path as paladin with sense undead turned on, you could see ghosts of people on the walls who were throwing those petals back then. Unfourtunatelly it was removed in cata.
Awesome video, but there's a part you left unnoticed: Muradin actually survived, the piece of ice that struck him when Frostmourne was freed didn't kill him, but damaged his brain, so he forgot who he was. He appears in Wrath of the Lich King expansion and is now a leader of the Bronzebeard clan and resides in Ironforge.
I vaguely remember that on the beach in Northrend where Arthas had the ships burned, there's either a repeating event or a quest where you get to see the cut scene from that mission re-enacted by ghosts.
Being someone who also did not play Warcraft 3, this video is so interesting to learn about the lore and the landmarks in Wow from Warcraft 3. Please make more :D
This is why I played WoW in the first place. I grew up with the original Warcraft and Warcraft III, so I got a thrill out of seeing these places. Blizzard knows how to reward lore people. :D
Actually the sun well was reignited by the Prophet Velen using the core of the naaru , Muru after Kil'jaden is defeated in the sunwell raid. As a result the well is now a fount of the Holy light, not just arcane magic as it once was.
Great video, thanks for that. I never played WoW myself (aside from fooling around with Guest Accounts / the Starter Edition a few times) but I did have a friend who was massively into it and he also told me of a few of these lore Easter Eggs. But damn that echo of the Arthas cutscene is more chilling than he could've ever described it.
This was very informative! I knew some of those things already, but I can't believe I didn't know about that ambiance thing in Undercity. That was so damn cool! Please make more videos like this, Crendor!
Crendor, this was very enlightening, thank you so much! I just play the game and don't pay much attention to the lore, but this helped explain a lot of things that I was halfway curious about. Thanks again for adding a little color to WoW.
Seeking the signs of Arthas' journey was the first thing I ever did in WoW. I remember watching this video back 7 years ago. There was an old Polish Machinima about the fall of Quel'Thalas set to Elven Path by Nightwish, Arthas got the moon crystals from An'owyn and boarded a Goblin zeppelin, but it's probably gone now, so sad. - Adûnâi
Do more of these! This was a great video! Also some areas (in Northrend in particular) have dialogue from the Warcraft 3 campaigns. Such as the shore in Dragonblight where you basically let the old ghosts know Arthas betrayed them, and the cheesy cinematic that at least the Alliance gets in a quest where Arthas take up Frostmourne and "kills" Muradin (who almost immediately gets back up and runs off with amnesia). More WC3 in later campaigns, same with the Frozen Throne, as well as the little RPG where you play as Rexxar. Do all that stuff! I'd recommend playing WC1 and WC2 as well as they establish some really cool characters that are further developed in WC3, or in WoW Lore for better(Uther) or for worse(Deathwing) in some cases. They also establish where many npcs/dungeon/raid bosses like Danath Trollbane, Zul'jin, and Teron Gorefiend came from. Also, Cox.
i find warcraft's lore one of the best stories ever in any game. when i play the game it feels so atmospheric thanks to the lore tied to that game. when i first played an undead, i went into the ruins and when i first walked in i say the bell lying on the ground. from that moment on i knew i wanted to see more of the lore and began diving into it. best decision ever, because every day i learn something new from it.; to make a long story short: i played for the gameplay and stayed for the story. THANKS BLIZZ
before cataclysm, Andorhal had a plagued grains questline. on alliance side theres a quesline at the beach that you save the souls of arthas soldiers. playing alliance on wrath of lich king theres a questline that leads to frostmourne and you find muradin alive in the cave with his memory lost. on alliance side the on the culling of stratholme theres a nice npc talk at the inn in the beggining with highlord fordring and a couple of guys that find the ashbringer. warsong gulch is the bg based on the current quest on warcraft 3 that crendor is
Love this video, make more please. I grew up playing WC2 and WC3. Didn't play wow until cata unfortunately but i've noticed a lot of people don't realize how drenched in lore 90% of Azeroth is. You can reach a wide audience and spread the lore. Questing in some areas is pretty lame without having prior knowledge to what is going on in that area. Hell, Vol'jin is the son of Sen'jin (if memory serves) which is why the Darkspear tribe side with the horde and also why Vol'jin has such a close relationship with Thrall.
The Ghost boy is Arthas' last human side of his emotions. He's talked about alot in the Rise of the Lich King Novel. Arthas is at the final breaking point between losing all humanity or sort of redeeming himself (even though redeeming himself would have most likely meant ending his own life) and he kills the little boy off instead.
