Hey there, quick one on Closed - I live in Hamburg where Closed was founded. I regularly shop from them - in fact I'm wearing a hoodie and a knitted jogger by them right now :D Honestly - I don't think they're worth full price. I love their cuts and style and color palette - however, I miss the "lux" feeling for this high price point. The quality of the knits is not super consistent, the bottoms, denim and shoes are very good, though. I only buy from them on sale - because they do them often (about every second month) and usually most of the seasonal items go on sale anyways. So yes I would recommend them "organically" but would definitely watch out for sales. :-)
I‘m wearing clothes from closed (organically ;))since the 90s. I love their different jeans styles but I also have some nice heavy knits in my closet. I find the quality in the lighter knitwear does not justify the price. I agree with Darya - watch out for sales.
I bought almost every pair of my Closed trousers second hand because at that time, I simply couldn’t afford buying them full price. Plus, they're easy to find second hand because they keep certain styles for years. But I love them all so so so much! If I had to choose one jeans label to wear for the rest of my life, this would be it.
Welcome to the vintage life! My favorite way of shopping vintage is thrifting in little hidden shops. I can spend hours looking through the racks... and the joy I feel when I find some beautiful piece hidden amongst everything else... it's heaven.
Hi Brittany, I'm a long time watcher first time commenter. Just wanted to say that I love your content, have been watching for a few years and I really enjoy the detail oriented view you bring to fashion content. It's s very refreshing and quite soothing to listen to you describe the intricacies of garments and their pros and cons. One thing that I'd love to see is for your content to turn more towards looking for sustainable and ethical practices in the brands that you choose to shop with. I think these things align with how you feel about fashion already as it's clear that you buy based on quality and longevity and the section on second hand shopping in this video also reflects that. But I think it would be great to go to the next step and specifically shop from brands who are clearly committed to ethical and sustainable practices, unfortunately a high price point does not necessarily gaurantee that. I fully appreciate that wading into this area can be contentious, unfortunately people aren't always kind when you make a mistake on the internet, but having more leaders in this area is so important, we won't make collective change if we don't see it reflected in our public faces! If this gets read I hope this comment doesn't come across as criticism, I really love your content, but I hope this is at least food for thought!
These types of videos are not usually my bag, but I swear even with just the two you've done, they've become one of my fave series (along with your previous show and tell ones where you went through all of your pieces in a category). I return to them frequently!
hi Britanny, here are my two cents: I feel that if you get such a big bag, there is going to be a vlog down the road of how you had to downsize in your bag due to the weight 😆 I have found that big bags (especially shoulder bags) are so impractical as they get very heavy and uncomfortable. A medium size bag helps you minimise the weight of your everyday stuff and controls the urge to put more in just because “they fit”. The bag from the Row is nothing new, we have seen it everywhere the last few years in numerous variations but I guess it is the name tag that seals the deal for some people. On a side note: I wish people would stop buying new leather products. We absolutely do not need them, there are plenty of vintage items as well as excellent leather imitation products out there. I loved the black leather jacket, it is truly beautiful, but some animal had to actually stop existing for you (and all the other customers) to have yet *another* jacket. Nothing will ever change if we all don’t collectively try a different route. We can do better than this.
I have the Bindle in a taupe colour (I always go for black, so I thought I'd go wild and have taupe instead lol!) I really love it, it carries an awful lot, and the strap doesn't slip off your shoulder. Also, even though it's open at the top, the way it sits makes it feel much more secure than other open top bags I've had. On the downside, you do have to dig around for your keys etc., because it's so cavernous (I've started carrying small stuff in a zip pouch within it which helps. But that's a small price to pay, it's just such a gorgeous bag and I hope you manage to get one. Also, I ordered the Cawley jacket when you talked about it last time, and I had an email to say it's being delivered tomorrow, and I am actually GIDDY with excitement! Ha!
OMG Closed! Us old ladies - those of us who were in our 20's and 30's in the late 70's and 80's - wore it all the time. It was the IT brand back then. I am so glad to see it again and can't wait to browse through their website.
Okay, I have got to add another comment. I LOVE CLOSED. I have for years and despite the pricetag I regularly invest every season. The quality is great and styles, cuts, patterns and colours are just spot on. The Jeans are legendary. I have been asking myself why I never see any CLOSED with creators I follow. I am very excited to see what you think about the label. In Germany it is quite a niche label - I find. Hope you‘ll love it too. Try the Mawson pants, I‘m sure they‘d be down your road. : ) The knits are absolutely amazing. Oh, and order the smallest sizes - they run very large. ; ) xxxx from Geemany
Probably because they don't send gifted items to all the fashion influencers. Which is a good thing! Most look the same as they wear what is promoted or sent to them. Hence why Brittany is more refreshing and has a true passion for fashion and innovation.

Brittany, I love this series!! For vintage Levi's, I recommend the Etsy seller Holdwest. I've purchased two pairs of 501s and have been so impressed with the quality and price. Based in the UK, but for US people, they shipped quickly!

Hi Brittany, I totally agree with Pauline. I just love Closed - for jeans and knits, but also for pants, shirts, shoes and leather goods. ❤️ They try to expand more internationally that is why they have more cooporations with influencers. I have been working in the fashion industry for many years and this German brand is very well known for really good quality and great design and aesthetics. (and no, they don‘t pay me 😉)

I've been interested in Closed but they don't have stores here so I couldn't test it out. I finally got to see it in Paris at Galeries Lafayette, the quality was very underwhelming for the price point.
The ACNE STUDIOS Adrienne Tote is a great large(ish) shoulder bag that's such. good. quality. Typical of Acne of course. It looks so good on too-- instant impact on an outfit.

I have Bindle bag for a while . Absolutely love it. The only down side you just can’t get the thing if you carry the bag on your shoulder, your hand just can not reach it. Bag is really deep. ( not sure could you understand me）Such as if you want your Oyster card when you leave the underground you have to take off the bag and then get the stuff.

Perks of carrying a small crossbody and a tote: you have all your valuables close to hand and you have something to save your seat with in a cafe 😝. If I were just to use a big shoulder bag it would definitely need a smaller internal compartment so I’m not constantly rummaging for my phone/cards etc.
Hi Brittany, really enjoyed watching your vlog - like always :) Just a little side note to the brand "closed". It is a german brand (since 1978) and actually very known for it's very good and long lasting quality (in jeans). Popular in Germany and a very good image but due to the higher price it is not a brand you see loads, especially not on very young people. They tend to address a modern-classic target group, the brand is not following every fashion trend, more sticking to their style. To sum it up: very good quality and very good imagine in Germany, just recently being more present on social media :) Might help you....
Hi Brittany, on the topic of a medium-large slouchy shoulder bag, you might be interested in the bags that Allsaints has to offer. They're just shy of £400 and the leather is so nice for the price.

I personally really like closed :) Their jeans are made in Italy; I have had one pair for about three years, worn it at least once a week and it is still going strong. :) So take one for the team, you won't regret it :D

What i find tricky with shopping vintage online is the measurements. It's such a guessing game, and yif you get it wrong, you can only (try to) resell it
I live in the Netherlands, and also find that Closed makes very good-looking clothes. But upon purchasingI have found the quality to be inconsistent, especially when you consider that the pricing is almost Filippa K level and she ALWAYS delivers. I bought a linen dress last year, that was gorgeous, and then I bought a stunning black shirt that was fortunately on sale because it pulled threads everywhere. I stopped purchasing then.... Another thing is that I think that the clothes are made for people a lot taller than us. I didn't mind with the linen dress, it was a flow summer number, but I would hesitate to buy trousers or skirts from there. Or even a shirt; I have the feeling it'll hit my knees if it's even a little oversized.
Have some pieces from Closed and really love them... I think some pieces look a little bit too "Street style" for the prices, so wait for the sales ;) I think they mostly produce in Europe and have a focus on sustainability, so that may make the pieces a little more expensive!
Bought some Closed jeans at an op shop in New Zealand and they became my favourite. I was sad to then see how expensive they are new, but have since bought another pair through Vestiaire and loved them too. Not sure if the price is worth it and definitely not worth it for me in Australia, but not full price Is totally worth it

Hi Brittany, love the video as always :) I think Closed is a German/Italian brand and it has been around in Europe for ages. My mum and all my aunties wore Closed jeans in the 80s and 90s and still buy from them now - as do I. The quality is amazing and I love the unique cut of the jeans with the little fly label. I have noticed that they are hardly known in the UK so I wonder whether they are struggling to break into this market? This might explain the blanket paid content?

I'm really loving these thoughtful videos. The Cawley coat is just delicious! I think it is so wonderful to highlight that this made -to-order is a viable way of making and consuming. I was wondering if you got any tips on taking care of the coat, specifically moisturising? I got a beautiful sheepskin coat from YMC 4 years ago. Like you said, the wearing in really adds to it, but mine seems to dried out quite a bit.

I recently watched a couple of your wardrobe review videos and it got me thinking it would be interesting to incorporate some of the pieces from the reviews into your wishlist videos. For example, as you're purchasing these "wishlist" items are they replacing any of your "review" items? Like, is the banana bag going to replace something you already own, and why? Or are the Tabi shoes replacing a different pair of Mary Janes? It could be an interesting way to continue your review videos but with a bit of a twist.
I was wondering about CLOSED also, there is a store here in Vienna that opened some years ago. The shop window looks nice, but there is never anyone in there and something about it seems weird haha. I also saw a lot of 'instagrammers' doing jobs with them but never wear them in 'ootds' ? I also find that strange.
Yes I’ve seen these smaller brands have a load of influencers show off their item, but then there’s no follow up. It doesn’t speak well for the item’s quality in terms of longevity. I made a mistake of purchasing from a brand like this once. I bought a pair of boots that were quite an investment and the quality is just not there for the price. It’s like the boots are just meant for show to look stylish on for the gram and not actually meant to walk around in. I look at reviews and they only speak about how comfortable they are when they’re first worn. Really disappointing.
You would have so many talented cobblers/artisans there in the UK could you design a bag and have them make it for your? I bet it would be way less pricey than a designer bag.

The whole eye thing have been quite a journey! I stopped using retinol, and pretty much all of my skincare about three weeks ago incase it was related to something I was using, but in the last couple of weeks I’ve experienced a lot of swelling. Last week I couldn’t open my right eye 😬 The doctors thought it was an infection and prescribed antibiotics, which helped the swelling, but I’m still having small flare ups. I’m thinking the next step might be to go to a dermatologist.
@@BrittanyBathgate1 😭 I went through a similar experience last year when I started using a retinol product that was stronger than usual. I didn’t wash my hand after applying the retinol and applied eye cream straight after. In a couple of days, it burned skin around my eyes. Hope you feel better soon. @@BrittanyBathgate1 Hey! I had the same eye thing on and off for years. I feel your pain. I would suggest getting your hormones checked, for me it had to do with some female hormone imbalances, stress, and toxin build up. Check with your doctor (obviously) but magnesium and calcium d'glucarate made the world of difference for me! Also, when the pain is the worst, aquaphor healing ointment is a god send! hope you find some relief soon!

I already commented before that my body shape does not whatsoever like closed pants (I basically tried them all...) but I do love their knitwear, shirts and outerwear. closed is a German brand and is well known in Germany, my mum has a ton of closed stuff. they had some iconic pieces like the pedal pusher (pants) for ages. Their clothing has pretty good quality, I bought many pieces on sale tho. They can be a bit overpriced IMO
