2:20 on the right wall is one of the first Warframe/Dark Sector posters. Not the Dark Sector that was released in 2008, but the one that was originally planned to be set in space with enemy spaceship expeditions, which eventually became the Warframe we all know.

I like that in the Warframe universe, everything's alternative. Even back in 1999, everything's different from how it is in the real world. The gun aesthetics, and of course, the language and everything.

That transition from Warframe present time Entrati lab to 1999 was SO SATISFYING. The remixed score of nine inch nails kicking in full gear during the transition sounded phenomenal.

I love how this seems to connect Warframe to Dark Sector in a way. I hope they will be showing us how humanity slowly turned into the Orokin, as well as the suits that would inspire the warframes after.

So this looks like it might explain how Warframe could directly connect to the Dark Sector universe, very excited for next year.

It’s honestly surreal seeing warframe gameplay take place in such a grounded, urban setting. At least in comparison to everything we’ve seen in warframe before this. Curious if this is on earth or another location, because we’ll get to see what earth was like before it was ravished if it is.

What i appreciate the most about Warframe is it's ability to reinvent itself and try new things. I don't play anymore, but seeing it still be somewhat relevant is crazy.

I’ve always wondered how we got to the point of warframe. It’s so far in the future it’s hard to wonder how their “modern times” were, so I’m glad we get so see it. It almost grounds the universe and It’s easier to relate with something we can easily conceptualize and see we’re in the timeline things went off.

I just found out that the countdown and Happy New Year was the countdown that Reb had the audience do earlier in the same livestream. The fact that the sound team were able to work in the crowd's countdown with so little time is astonishing to me

"Walking to the station, final destination..." - this song turned to be the best choirce for such section of trailer. And I'll repeat again - it gives some Dark Sector vibes, believe me or not. For three reasons: main character, AK-like tifle, and enemies like technocyte. Warframe just keeps getting better.

For those confused about the significance of 1999 and why we're in a timeline set just before year 2000, this was the same time when Y2K was a cause of concern for everyone. This was centred around an issue within computers at the time that could've caused widespread problems when the year turns 2000 especially in computer reliant industries. The public became aware of the issue and that caused widespread panic believing that Y2K was going to be apocalyptic in scale. This is why the enemies are humanoid Infested masses made of TV screens (you can even see Infested growth in some parts of the environment in this video), it's based on the idea of Y2K turning out to be an apocalyptic event with "Master Entrati" (I put that in quotations because it's fairly obvious that it's Wally and Albrecht was right in his fear that his "other" escaped) having something to do with it.

The plot of Warframe is going all over the place, and I am all for it!

Very Metal Gear good to see them going back to the roots of the franchise never played dark sector but I heard good things and its always good to see a creative team execute on their original vision or at least refrence it.

So the Void, atemporal. Wally and Al screwed up the past as well. With the Orokin arising as a bootstrap paradox. The Orokin birth Albrecht, who discovers the Void, who goes backs and starts the rise of the Orokin. A circle with no beginning and no end, but Operators also atemporal. Their actions operating outside the paradox in a paradoxical existence of their own.

As a new player this games story is all over the place.

As soon as the head came alive and I heard the song, I said "wait, is that Nine Inch Nails"? Then the main part hit and I flipped out so hard I almost smashed my laptop. It went perfectly with the scene and as a huge NIN fan, I love that you used this. Great choice!!!!!

I wonder if he got his Excalibur abilities by pulling a sword from a stone... it'd certainly be in-line with the naming scheme they have so far. Either way, choosing the name Arthur alone is a really nice touch!

I think Putting a face to the frames is a good call. A lot of people are attached to their warfarame and I think the human head adds a little more connection. I hope to see more like this

WARFRAME IS THE BEST GAME EVER ! ! ! ! ! !!!

A few things I've noticed. Arthur and Excalibur share the same story they are based on (heck king arthur wields excalibur) not to mention Arthur use's Radial Blind. You can even see the lotus symbol peeking out from under his shoulder straps. Theres a mural on the floor of the Sun and Moon, a very common theme in warframe. While arthur is on the phone with Aoi, you can hear her using Mag's abilities (which could me me presuming it her using them and not someone else) The monitors bear the symbol of the Lidless eye, which is another name for the Indifference and the Man in The Wall The screens say Solar Winds, Silverball, Pariah, and Warpath which are all DE games DE picked the song from Nine Inch Nails and it has a fitting name of "Into the Void" which is super fitting Now what I wanna know is how much time actually passes between the two. According to the game, the Helminth strain was developed during the old war, and we didnt see warframes until much later. But we do see infestation, similar to the Mutualist strain given it taking over electronics and assimilating them, but we also take a look at Arthur's back and we see evidence of either sword metal or some kind of biomechanics going on which either or leads me to believe theres some proto-orokin organization that Dr. Entrati is a part of. My guess, Arthur and Aoi are genetically engineered super-soldier type who serve the organization (which I believe to be the origins of the orokin) and the two of them are bodyguards (kinda like proto-dax, mirroring Excalibur umbra). Dr. Entrati was most likely influenced by the Man in the wall to further his research, develop the infestation, and is is the reason for the outbreak but also for the orokin (the wealthy execs) fleeing to Lua and eventually becoming the orokin cult race. Also, lately I've been thinking of the grineer, corpus, infestation, and ostron as one race (humans) diverged down multipler paths. Questions I have? If there was an outbreak on earth, how did they get earth to the way it is? Is it even the same earth? Is it even the same solar system? Or just something close enough. I know theres mentions of infestation outbreaks with the orokin and they sealed them in Dark Sectors (ooo a call back) which leads me to think they flat out found a new system, which kinda kills my theory of ostron and orokin sharing a common ancestor. I got alot of reading to do as I still barely know anything about the lore I heard someone say that DE used the countdown from tennocon as the new years count down not even a few hours later, which if true is super cool!

Shout out everyone who played Dark Sector back in the day! This is a great homage to it, got nostalgia

Man, I love how they mixed that Happy new years cheer in there from the costume contest earlier. Wasn't expecting to hear it in game until like a year from now after everyone forgot, not later the same day as part of a new trailer.

Whoa this looks so badass! Im so glad they brought back the first warframe game called DarkSector.

I like that we are getting a darker and grittier look into what warframe originally looked like (Dark Sector). Though it may not be Dark Sector, it seems like its being revisited in a reimagination, and I am all for it I love this aesthetic. It's Earth in 1999, but definitely an alt Earth, language looks different. Maybe what was told from the past, the Orokin Empire, was a lie and they rewrote history. Something else may have happened, the infestation and the power of the void existed before the Orokin Empire (probably). That's my theory though. Added Note: I'm wrong, something about this world seems to be conflicting. 2:36 Looks like there are show times for movies, and it's all in English. Maybe this is a simulation of the past and most of the language is translated for the Orokin, Tenno, etc. can read.

Warframe, The game that DE released and hoped it was a succuss, If not, They would lose everything and become bankrupt. They're making the game fun and better and releasing these free expansions. This company is surely one of it's kind! I love you digital Extremes! :D Keep up the good work!

The most I like about it is that you have warframe with some additonal equipment like harnesses and gun slings and pouches etc and it looks epic!

Right now I'm convinced that they're trying to connect Dark Sector to the Warframe universe. Specifically by explaining that the frame designs all came from real people or at least their equipment. For those who played Sacrifice, we already know how much actual people were involved in the process; I think this would fit perfect together.
