I got a riven for the weapon sometime last year or the year prior, and it made me love the base weapon. I'm glad the weapon got a Prime, but the riven disposition is bad
This gaslit me because I was always confused about there being a single magnus prime and not an akmagnus prime, then I got it from a random relic group and thought I had just missed it, and made a comment on McGamercz channel to take a look at it then log in the next day and you already made a video on it
@@celphalonred1999 or you’re dumb enough to spend 25$ when you can trade for most of the important items baro has, you don’t need to spend $$$ on warframe, if you do you’re just wasting it
Blast procs have a chance to proc the infinite ammo as well. So if you mod for multishot and blast you can have pretty much continuous uptime on the ammo efficiency.
The funny thing is that my buddy who goes to Overframe to check builds(LOL cause you know how bad that site is for builds) saw it on the listing and showed it to use like 3 days before Baro. I was like "Oh shit he's probably bringing that this Friday." Lo and behold he did.
@@janetV93 Yeah, weapons dropping with a .5 dispo is a bummer :/ My phantasma is still outperforming the prime version courtesy of a .3 higher riven disposition even after...holy cow almost 2 years now o_o
My beloved in their golden splendor! All shall kneel to their power! The og Akmagnus carried me through the raids of yesteryear. They've always been a solid weapon choice, but were well overshadowed by newer secondaries. Multishot and punch though help to maintain the prime's chamber cascade.
It almost feels like this was designed for Mesa. I kind of wish there was a way that you could have a sound bite play every time the infinite ammo thing fires off with Clint Eastwood saying "Do you feel lucky, punk?"
@@antivenom68 same here, just got the BP a few hours ago. When I wake up, I will be fully integrated into the cult of the akmagnus once more this time as a prime cult member
The normal Akmagnus was one of my favorite weapons early on (esp. in 2014 when there weren't as many options), it felt really nice to use and the Prime looks like it's got the same feel to it so guess it's time to farm some ducats!
YES YES the time has come to bust out my 4 akmagnus rivens Edit: So, you can also trigger the trait with elec and gas procs too. I run a gas/elec magnus that loves to proc it so long as you got the gas/elec procs hit an enemy
Cant wait to use my individual (fully modded) magnus prime to craft the dual version, and then a year later for DE to come with an incarnon adaptor for the individual version.
@@Wonback Because a dual version of the pistol isn't always objectively better (usually an accuracy and reload penalty). Also, for purposes of Duviri, rivens, and random weapon buffs (sortie, archons, etc) the Magnus and Akmagnus are 2 different weapons.
As a die-hard Ak-Magnus fan for over half a decade, it lapping my other sidearms in use, im happy to finally be able to give these things a shot, hope they completely die down in price in the WF market by the time i start playing again
Honestly doesnt look too shabby. Gonna take your build and slap a riven on it, run it with my roar and arachne wisp. Hopefully its just a straight bullet hose.
Years ago DE tweeted out "Trust us: When Akmagnus Prime launches, you will not miss it. Akmag is the Supreme, the Ultimate. When its Prime arrives, the clouds will part, and the very sky will shatter." From that point on I started collecting riven mods for it. 12 rivens later the long game game will finally pay off.
Thank god I kept my extra magnus prime part though was going crazy yet held out hope that at some point the akmagnus prime to exist. And lo and behold here we are in the most unceremonious fashion ever after many months of waiting on this possibility. I don't even care that its a subpar weapon, something about this weapon slaps of a different sort and gotta give it some respect.
You know what would be great? If Baro relics didn't rotate and were just a fixed part of what he carried. As much as I'd love to have them, I can't play this weekend. Baro really, really needs a rework
But he probably never will, since Tennocon Relay sells well precisely because people miss his stuff frequently... I decided not to get it this year since I was ducat poor and too lazy/busy to farm it last minute. But I will probably have to get it next year since I still need to get Gustag 3 beacons for the useless Brakk weapon. I need to finish getting the stuff necessary to go from LR 2 to LR4 😅.
As much as I think it is cool that they put this in the game, WHY could they not ad that passive to some full auto pistols? I really doubt anyone would be running out of ammo for semi auto pistols.
Forget the fire rate school of thought, here's my 5 forma build, that I use alongside Frost Prime and Xata's Whisper - hornet strike, galv diff, galv shot, hemorrhage, cannonade, frostbite, PHeated charge, riven with +damage, +reload speed, +elec, -punc, pistol mutation for ammo jic needed, could be swapped out for something else Frost gives the 200% cc/cd buff on frozen enemies which deals with the crit side, cannonade gives you the punch through enabling you to have multiple chances of hitting multiple enemies with multishot thus drastically increasing your uptime instead of hitting multiple enemies through fire rate, as well as adding 300% damage. Since the armour strip was already making them flesh only, blast electric is nice for ticks (sure could've gone viral for more damage but blast/electric is a great combo), my riven gives better reload speed alongside primary merciless for a 1.8 reload speed which feels leagues better, two galvanized mods for more ms/damage, which when used with Xata's gives even more bonus damage and resets resistances to boot. Hemorrhage could be swapped out but I like the extra bleeds Sure it's a specific warframe setup, but it works effectively and all the different parts synergise really really well, even with the usual "riven" caveat
If it works well then that's all that matters right! He electric ticks keeps your passive going all the time right? I've enjoyed them with frost, yareli and Mesa.
@@TacticalPotato Definitely and yes, an additional bonus of the ticks. Haven't tested yet if Heat does the same thing, if it does then Corrosive/Heat on a different frame could do the same thing, combine with two green archon shards to help you strip that way. Akmagnus were my first "favourite" sidearms so I knew I had to get them asap
perhaps its just me, but I feel like I'm noticing a a worrying trend in WF. semi-auto weapons are just not useful. Warframe is, more often then not, a horde shooter. Plentiful targets in close proximity. because of this, every "effective" weapon must have some form of crowd control, AoE, or high rate of fire in order to eliminate targets quickly enough without stopping. explosives have been nerfed via massively decreased ammo reserves, and fire rate is based on the weapon alone. now even moderately high rates of fire on semi-auto weapons demand an accessibility feature to even make such weapons viable. maybe its just me, but I feel like the only solution is to give most/all semi-autos or non-full-autos innate punch through, or insanely high damage, lest they be left in the dusty wake of the top weapons. not every weapon needs to be top-tier, or even good. but what's the point in designing or crafting a weapon that's nothing more than mastery fodder? Am i saying this just because I want a Kuva Grinlock with explosive rounds? Maybe. But I think its worth looking at all the weapons that are considered A or S tier, and looking for ways to diversify usage of those B, C, D, and F-tier, weapons. I also think we could use some new designs and some reworked designs. the Tenet Diplos are terrible when ADSed, but the concept behind the ADS function is kinda cool. It could stand to be reworked to function more like the SMART Pistol from Titanfall, or Deep Rock Galactic's Smart Rifle. The Tenet Envoy is also cool, but it could use some adjustments, or maybe have a new weapon take the idea further.
I seen he had them and just thought "why does he have this?" Didn't even realize it was a new prime. I'm Mr 28 with 2,200 hrs played lol any new prime weapon is really just meh unfortunately
"Lack of group killing potential " Now that's something you're in charge of .. My advise is "fuck the Meta" and build your own stuff for example build for Gas or Explosion and slap in some punch through
@@TacticalPotato when baro first brought it the price dropped to roughly 600-400 from the like99999 before when it was only 110 in existence. Now it's hovering 200-300. So it's still a fair amount aswell as doesn't cost a fortune worth of endo and credits to max like primed mods. It's worth it for the plat resell value.
Hiding a prime weapon behind a paid wall? I'm not sure how I feel about that (since you've to have the digital pack first then the ducets necessary just to get it) making this prime weapon to my knowledge the only prime weapon that will be untradable isn't that a little unfair to everyone who can't get the digital pack? I have a funny feeling they will be quite a lot of enraged players that couldn't get it because they couldn't get the bundle to access the relay
@@Minecraftassassin-re6og pretty sure this will be like the akvasto which is on a rotation like every other item. Also you can trade for the prime link and a second magnus I'm fairly sure
Playing as Dagath with Ophanim Eyes; should i still be running viral on these bad bois or something else as I will already be doing viral. I know, noob question. Just havent played in a hot minute. Im getting rusty
honestly I have to say this is the worst "prime buff" that I've seen since Soma and even Fang Prime and before anyone comes to me claiming that I'm saying Soma Prime is bad (which I'm not I love my Soma Prime lol) I encourage everyone to look at the stat differences between Soma and Soma Prime and then look at the differences between Akmagnus and its prime equivalent and while yes they're paper stats the fact I actually used Akmagnus as mastery fodder in the past and these feel literally no different compared to the normal market variant
