Tipedo and nami skyla prime both have 1.33 aswell not to mension when you get a riven that has attack speed, I've got one for the gram that gets it up to 2.19 along with a primed fury! Still not maxed either. Edit I wrote this before I saw the bit where he said rivens are cheating..shuddup

He clearly never tried Excal's passive ability. Combining it with Volt's speed ability, Warcry, and other mods that has attack speed but a channeling downside. I did that with War and it looked like if i was about to fly away.

Technically, if we count melee type, prisma obex is faster than both nami skyla prime and tipedo due to the multi attacking nature of sparring weapons.

You can go even faster if you use channeling mods that boost the speed

You have to keep in mind that a heavy blade (like the galatine or scindo) with 1.50 attack speed would still attack slower than a sparring weapon with 1.00. The numbers dictate how fast the weapon animations play back and they have nothing to do with how many attacks per second the weapon does.

I'm kinda surprised no one pointed out yet that attack speed is determent by weapon class. Each class has a different base swing speed which is modified by the attack speed number. Fist weapons have the fastest base speed of all weapons. A 1.33 prisma obex will attack faster than a 1.33 tipedo (polearms have lower base speed values). Edit: this was important back in the day when zoren-coptering still existed and Ash his ult animations were linked to the base swing speed of the melee weapon equipped.

Nami Skyla Prime has also a 1.33 attack speed.

Ninkondi and nunchucks in general have crazy multy hits. Their attack speed is decieving

The attackspeed is based on what the 1.00 of what the stance is, so its more depending what does the most attacks then taking the fastest of its type to get the most attacks

the number on attack speed only is useful for comparing between weapons of the *same class*. it works directly as an animation speed multiplier. to tell which melee is fastest in an absolute sense is a more difficult task. to do it you'd need to measure the combo counter over a given time period against a single enemy to get an accurate average number of hits per second.

There's actually quite a bunch of weapon that outclass the fang prime in speed. It's often hard to tell because weapon type natural speed isn't listed anywhere. Here the list of fastest melee weapon (in order) that are also faster than the fang prime: prisma obex hirudo obex kogake zaw dual zoren nami skyla prime okina rakta dark dagger ceramic dagger tipedo dark split-sword(DSword) dual kamas prime dual kamas note: the Zaw could possibly be higher in the list, I haven't done the math on all possible fast zaw this is just the 1 I'm using.

maybe that guy had excalibur since excal gives more attack speed when using swords/daggers/heavy blades

I think the Sparring weapons mostly seem to go so much faster because there is more than 1 hit per press of the button.

Don't forget you can Equip Arcane Strike and Quickening to make this even faster

May want to take a peek into the nun chuck trees. While their base speed multiplier is low, their combinations and multi-hit swings make your attacks per second freaking crazy. Status Chucks shred rather well.

I'm surprised that [Gladiator Vice] wasn't mentioned in any of the comments below. That is another +30% speed. For my speed builds, I use [Berserker], [Primed Fury], [Gladiator Vice], and [Dispatch Overdrive]

i was gonna say prisma obex's quick melee attack "as in pressing E" with no mods at all can feel like a slightly slowed down soma, speaking from experience

These would all be insane with shattering impact (look in to it if you don't understand the mod and if you think the mod is bad then you defiantly don't understand it) there is a great RU-vid video on it by a youtuber called x3lp

The top three are , as said by many others... Nami Skyla Prime, Tipedo and Prisma Obex... If you want to push these to a ridiculous speed level, you'll want to equip Prime Fury, Berserker, Arcane Strike, a Riven with attack speed. If you want to go even further ,equip a fast frame, equip rush and other sprint speed mods and equip dispatch overdrive, which will make you run even faster and as such, will make you move much faster from enemy to enemy. And if you want to get to ludacris level of speed, equip vold and push that speed to even more ridiculous levels. All of these combined are almost impossible to control properly though... Just too fast...

It's cute that he actually clicked on the Arca Titron to check if it's faster than the Prisma Obex lol. Also that 1.33 is just an animation multiplier not the actual rates at which you land hits. I think with a if you compare the Sheev and the Gram which have the same multiplier you can still see that the that the Sheev is much faster even though they have the same speed multiplier so strictly speaking the Fang Prime is still one of the fastest melees

Remember when we used melee to "copter" around way before parkour was introduced to the game? Coptering speed was based on weapon speed, and tipedo coptering was insane.

what about the speed of the attack animation? maybe there is a weapon that is unexpectedly faster that is not shown in stats, but by the speed of it's animation

My friend got a riven for the Dual Zoren, and that became the fastest melee weapon. He couldn't spam O fast enough

Riven with atk. speed, primed fury, berserker, and quickening is the definition of blur-frame.... and max power strength volt or valkyr

You can go faster if you have a volt with you and switch your melee weapon attack to your mouse wheel scroll

mix that weapon with some mods, volt's speed and valkyr war cry and MAYBE riven mod thus you got the fastest atttack speed of melee in the entire game!

OK man you do realise. Tepido which came out before parkor2.0 is 1.33, after that prisma obex made its way in to the scene with the same speed about 3-6months after . And now nami skyla prime is in there with 1.33 as well

Well speed good and fine but speed brings nothing if you need an "eternity" to kill 1 enemy while 9 other enemies simply strip you down while you "glitch the enemy to dead" i would say. And yeah i know he didn´t go for dmg increase here but still when the dmg output is lower the number of attacks it needs to kill will balance it out again.

I got my balla custom sitting at 2.01 before berserker kicks in. Its just a normal high damg speed puncture dagger. 32%cc 2x cd 916p 202s 18i does amazing on armor enemies with no extra crit or statusalways main volt so you get idea.

Theres a melee combo for shields and swords that can make you nearly instakill and make you 360 megajump something sarcastic sonic like speed deadass

To max out attack speed load into your captura and add slow motion

That obex combo, geez it would be cool if they gave volt that combo if you press his 2 twice or something, like some super speed stuffs

Got a nice riven for dual zoren, attack speed 2.80 before berserker kicks in :) That's the fun build, on my regular I use spoiled strike to bring the attack speed down a bit (to 1.93), because it's simply too fast to use any combo with.

If you add a max arcane strike +20% fire rate for melee weapons for 12s

Nami skyla prime is the fastest one, because out of the three 1.33 weapon, it's the only one who can take the 10% bonus attack speed from excalibur

You should add in Quickening, Dispatch Overdrive, and just fill the other slots with channelling efficiency. Use that with a lil bit of Valkyr or Volt and channelling, boom. Also, maybe try temporarily binding the melee attack to the scroll wheel lol

You should make something similar to this and make the fastest of each category of ZAW to compare actual animations in the stances. Could be interesting.

That number isn't attacks per second, it's an attack speed multiplier. This means that it mostly has to do with the stance equipped.

There's an attack speed cap sadly.

My tipedo with riven is 2.44 attack speed and if I make it any faster the animation will become invisible

Hirudos attack speed may appear slower stat wise but the animation for its quick attack is alot faster than most melees that are statistically faster than it. Was disappointed you didnt bring this up.

The thing is, the attack speed value and the speed of the weapon are not the same thing. Brutal tides, for example, actually hits way slower than the melee attack when holding a primary or secondary weapon, with the prisma obex. Some of the weapons with really fast stances don't necessarily have high attack speed values. Prisma obex is, however, the fastest weapon I have seen due to a combination of attack speed value and ridiculous animation speeds by default.

using a riven and stuff i remember getting my scindo over 2.00 and almost to 3.00 and it was the funniest stuff ever when you have that weapon skin from the chroma dynasty bundle

In the last de Dev streem I asked if they fang prime would get a rework and they said I will be getting one soon

with my riven mod Ankyros Primes are reaching 2.35, my Prime Fury is only at like 7 and the riven is also at 7
