Come back to game and find you are dead because disk only last 45 secs (now 10 secs after the old blood update - 4 for deploy time so effectively 6 seconds).
Here's what I'd do with this weapon. Put it one Mirage. Get in a squad with a Speed Nova. Go to Akkad. Throw 5 disks on the cryopod (because Mirage), let Nova do her thing, and just stay there while infested die. You could probably stay on the pod because the blast would keep the infested away.
Imagine this, you have all three dual stat mods for cold toxic and heat, meaning you give it viral and heat, bam, now they get panic'd from the fire proc and they also die quicker. On a serious note though, how does the disc work with channeling damage?
It's like the Fragor for it's speed and according to the Wikia, it's the third highest base damage of all melee weapons, along with Jat Kittag, Fragor Prime, Sibear, and Scindo Prime. Thanks for the info on the charged attack; I'm going to need to try that one out.
DE has a theme going with these login reward weapons. The Azima could expend its magazine by shooting a disc, dealing AoE damage. This Zenistar can also shoot a disc, dealing AoE damage. I hope they keep the theme for whatever the 3rd weapon will be.
It's probably turned around so that when you throw it, the front side is facing upward. Also while I'm sad I won't be getting this for a a few months, I can understand it being the 300 log in day reward. Just as you said - it's one of the most useful melee weapons in the game. All you have to do is mod it for blast or radiation, stick in primed reach, and bam - you have a zone of CC that rivals many warframe abilities that needs no energy output and can stay where you put it forever. Just think of how absolutely broken that would be if everyone had it?
Guess i'll use it with Volt or Valkyr then. And that blast idea is awesome (lately i've been building lots of weapons with blast actually, and is just so funny to see people explode and fall)
The Primed reach and the basic reach mods both work but with less range than the Prime. The berserk mod plus the primed fury or the ordenary fury do help to over come the slow attack speed of this weapon. The disc can not stay out till you call it back , it's on a timer, for me fourty second then it will auto return to the zeistar weapon and that is even if you are fifty, or even hundred or more meters away it will auto return to the weapon.
Using at least one dual stat mod instead of life strike will probably serve you better, together with weeping wounds you can reach nearly 100 percent stat chance pretty easily. However i personally would prefer(if i had that thing) not using weeping wounds and body count but two other elementals instead, also using dual stat mods to get the chance up to 70 percent wich is enough i'd say.
So this may be a bit old and idk what you have for your build on that weapon now but if you want a attack speed build on heavy blade weapons such as that weapon or a battle axe or a great sword, you could add a berserk mixed with cirt chance and a fury mod. that would increase the attack speed with each successful crit hit and allows you to attack at a faster rate. yes the may not be a crit build weapon but your still doing more damage at a quicker time. and if you are losing heath from slow attacks life strike can help with that.
thanks for the video but i kinda wished you went a lil more in depth with this weapon. what happens when you channel and toss out the disk? does life strike activate? does it still sap energy? How viable is this during a infested defense with a mirage and speed nova? does the disk stay out when you swap weapons? can ivara navigate the disk? idk if its just me but those simple questions could mean alot and i guarantee the extra work would pay off. Id make a video myself but i have 20 days to go so i cant.
Put it on Ivara Steath dmg on disk, and her ammo flight control power can move it around. Also when the disc is out the weapon switches over to slash damage, and the damage looks the same as when it was fire damage.
Having played around with it enough lately, I can say that most people (not all) just don't know how to use it. Let me elaborate; they see all weapons as either 'damage out the wazoo' or 'CC out the wazoo'. And if it's a Status weapon most... well, most just say 'use the Ignis and Status-proc the world'. Most don't get that the disc lasts for 45 seconds, isn't affected by Nullies, damages enemies pretty quickly, it's a consistent, persistent AoE and with the right Elemental (that heat damage is a pointer towards it), it will mess enemies up. Don't use the Zenistar for outright DPS. It's not Crit-build viable, so don't do it. Just put 1-2 dual stat elementals, give it Blast (and Corrosive if you want) or Radiation/Viral and let the Beyblade rip. With Primed Reach, this thing has a pretty impressive range, stopping almost anything in their tracks. Having issues in a mission? Park the disk in a chokepoint and trollolol around with your other weapons. Nullies charging? Throw it in their path and shoot them dead. Hell, one of the funniest things ever, was taking my Ivara, turning this baby into pure radiation and flying around with the Beyblade Of Doom, turning entire rooms of enemies against each other! TOTAL CHAOS! That is not to say it won't deal damage -so far I've had zero issues with it in 20-40 level missions. Sure, doesn't one-shot like Fragor or Galatine (the Prime versions), but does it need to? Outside Sorties, most of the damage you do is Overkill anyway. And depending on Sorties... this IS actually a viable weapon to bring. For example, a Corrosive-Blast setup, with 88% status proc will stop the tide dead in their tracks and melt their faces. Of course, I would prefer if it had at least a 15% crit chance. Or better channeling stats (just to break the mould, you know? Crit this, crit that, give me weapons that play different). But even as is... it's hella fun.
Perhaps the reason why some of the enemies weren't being affected by the disc is because it has a 25% status chance that will try to proc everytime it damage something.
Question is, can you switch to another weapon while the aoe disc is out? If so, we have ourselves the perfect area denial weapon for hardcore players' meta. A team of four with this out at the start of every path feeding into a defence objective are going to have themselves a laugh looking after the point while the rest of the map is covered in stumbling mobs...
So the next login weapon after this is going to be a rifle. Of course. Aside from the vacum ability, the fact that carrier's weapon was a shotgun was one of the major reasons I went with that over any of the others. Levelling up an essential mod like serration is hard enough as it is. Trying to level up two different sets of mods for each weapon type is just a massive pain in the neck. I know you can technically add the sweeper shotgun to any of the other sentinels, but they'll use the shotgun as though it's a rifle, or a pistol, or a sniper rifle. Their AI isn't able to work with different weapon types, last I checked.
If you put berserk mod, on with the fury prime mod, and then you get the speed. I like it, it's sweet when it jams, in the body of the infested, and you see your warframe struggling to pull it out :) . The timer is on the right side top corner of the screen next to all of the other warframe power indicators, I think it's 30 sec, or a min and a half I just don't look so I am guessing sorry, but there is a good adequate amount of time. And yes you can hold a place or a given point eg excavation, or mobile defence. It's good against the infested, and grinner, don't know yet about corpus. Best effect with the use of elemental modes for each of the different enemy types. :)
Actually that's the weapon when you've thrown the weapon. It deals mostly slash damage and gains an increase to crit chance as well as attack speed while getting a decrease to Status. You've effectively got 2 weapons in one.
People were saying this weapon was "worth the wait". They are crazy. A fun new way to do offense would have been best. And I don't mean the worthless stances. Since it's only use is defense, I'd only put range and elemental damage on it.
Non-thrown melee weapons' charge attacks are all agonizingly slow, unaffected by any attack speed modifiers. Primed fury, max berserker bonus, max valkyr Warcry or Volt's Speed, the charge attack will be just as slow as without them :\ All of the charge attack-mechanic melee weapons suffer from this oversight.
OriginalWickedfun there is something else you should know about the disc, it has different stats then the weapon it self meaning higher critical chance
so many questions ... 1. does the AOE effect Mag's magnetized or Nyx's absorb? (damage) 2. does the AoE effect enemies being lifted by Vauban's Vortex or hydroid's tentacle swarm? 3. does the disc stay out, if you switch to another weapon?
Hey Wicked, what do you do for fun in warframe at this point? There is absolutely nothing to do in the "end game." I usually just get on for the daily reward and get off. There is boring that interests me anymore. Everything is too easy and there aren't any good challenges. I got just about everything I want +more. I have no clue how you can still play this game after so long...
I would take body count and weeping off of it and place two other element mods In place of them, your not gonna be getting any high combos that would effect status much while using it.
350 Days - Solar Flare Sigil, Credit Booster, and Orokin Catalyst 400 Days - Primed Vigor (Unranked) 450 Days - Void Gate Sigil, Affinity Booster, and Exilus Adapter 500 Days - Unrevealed Rifle (Comes with weapon slot and pre-installed Orokin Catalyst) 550 Days - Lotus Deliverance Sigil, Credit Booster, and Orokin Reactor But Things May Change...
You have the Azima, a pistol with the ability for zoning with the alt fire (Heh...Multishot + Mirage), you have the Zenistar, a melee weapon with the ability to zone with a charge attack (anyone testing with Mirage?). Oh boy, I wonder what the rifle can do...
Days played rewards? Haven't played in months so this is new. Are the primed mods and event mods now also time played rewards? Also does it count for actual amount of days played or days played since whatever update it's from?
hmmm this and the 100 day weapon if u had both circle out at the same time with nekros prime summoning ability and primary as the the simular I think all that locking down a entire room which I like 2 do sometimes I think op word is in order
Long Shadow Tactical Alert Just Nerfed Zenistar... It Took Less Than 24 Hours. Now Zenistar Has A Timer... It Takes Longer To Activate Than Actually Using It.
Does the attack speed increase after the disk is gone? It seems as though it does which makes sense because, logically, the weapon has just gotten lighter, and also, it encourages you to have the disk OUT rather than in.
what i would like to see is an exclusive warframe that can only be acquired through log in rewards. no trading no purchase through market just log in everyday (you don't have to play the game just log in) and you'll get the exclusive warframe. but there are a few things to consider with this warframe like if they make a prime for it people can easily just get it with out doing the log in reward thing.
