Warframe | Official Cinematic Trailer 2021 | The New War: Expansion Story and Date Reveal 

The musical composition is absolute GENIUS. The blending of the themes? The way it has dedicated stinging entrances of both the strings and the piano? The triumphant horns kicking in as Nova portals into battle? I don't know who is responsible for this trailer but damn they are pulling out all the stops. I know it's a crass comparison to make but the only thing i can compare this to is the Darth Vader Hallway scene from Rogue One. It's THAT well done from a film composing perspective.

I recall Reb saying in an interview that one of the systems in the game will be changed with the New War, but that saying more than that would be spoilers. I think the only system I can think of that they would want to be secretive about changing is operator mode, given how readily they normally show off things like the Helminth system.

@@Sraye Like damn, the pain I feel when soloing a sortie spy mission (because ppl suck and fail it) and that happens. I often bring shitty weapons because free exp without grinding but it becomes an instant reset when it turns into extermination.

I feel like its complicated. If you understand the narrative its good, but I don't always feel like warframe's narrative is told the best through the quests. I had to go back and basically watch yt vids/talk with someone who knew the lore/read the wiki to fully understand. Now that I do fully understand though I think its a good if not great story.

@@N5FX I’m not sure it’s that low. Not saying it’s not low but less then 1% is tiny. Just on steam warframe averages around 50k concurrent players. Add in switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and DE launcher players and I think we are easily talking 150k concurrent players, maybe more. Do you think LoL has 15 million concurrent players on average? I looked it up and I am seeing varying numbers from 1-3 million. So somewhere between 5 and 15% would be the real number. Now basing just off concurrent player counts probably isn’t the best metric, but less then one percent is just tiny.

Love my Combo of Rhino Prime + Boltor Prime. Was my main for a long while. Handled a lot.

My warframe is strong.

Yes! The story volving aroung the Lotus is so, so touching. She calms you when you enter the game first. She guides you trhoughout an overwhelming battle. She cares for your after the encounter with DEDACTED. She warns you about the sentients. She genuinely cares, even though [DEDACTED] So touching.

I thought the same too, plus I'm a Rhino/Rhino Prime main! The way he moved, the way he knocked people out, and the way the music went along with it. I almost screamed: YES!

Also the way he lets Excalibur jump off his back is amazing, he's like a raid boss setting his team for success haha

And the scene pose attention on the synergize between warframes too with mag that open portal for rhino. This should lead the players to play in a cooperative way more than rush and selfish.

​@@fideljok no it's doesnt, nova will molecular prime everything and everyone die in one hit, you dont use nova's portal in actual combat unless it's a mean to pass a long road. Excal player never use actual weapons, they use exalted blade and kill enemies through door and objects. Rhino in this case judging by the small Rhino Stomp area this rhino obvious build full strength for Iron Skin so he can only use weapons which accurate in the video, and Operator base attack without Amp in game deal absolute no damage to high level enemies

On god, my older brother I'd like you. I could say I am too. Although when it first came out I was young and didn't know any better and got bored of it. I came back in 2018 and fell in love with the game. I always viewed Lotus as just a Cortana from Halo, now this proves me right. Navigator becomes main villain.

@@sentinel_prime I personally don't think there's any particularly egregious moments of the operator being "immature." I'm more referring to complaints I see online, especially regarding The War Within. I think the operator had some lines where they got really pissy that Teshin kept calling them a child, and then refusing to listen to Teshin. But I honestly don't blame the operator for this tbh. Imagine training, fighting, losing your parents, and enduring horrific abuse for years, and then condescendingly being called a child. I see Teshin's point, but I understand the operator's pov as well. I really like the operator's internal conflict of being a child who has grown up way too fast, but way too many people expect the operator behave like a perfect adult.

I started playing warframe in middle school too now im in my last year in high school and i can’t play the new war cuz i got plenty of homework to do and exams , like a lot of them , im sad though because i won’t be playing the new war with all the hype but I’m so happy to watch the game growing and becoming mote popular each day and more people are reaching it , I’ll never stop playing warframe for what it has reached my heart with it’s story and I’ll be forever grateful to be a player of warframe ❤️.

They took inspiration from the faces of the players, when they announced the non-plat regal aya packs.

And the music! I LOVE the music they blessed us with. Warframes is one of the few games I don't have RU-vid running in the background. It ruins the experience.

Fight scenes were great but the whole running animation just felt clunky to watch.

"Needs" Yeah I can't wait for the generic unfunny Warframe movie produced by Illumination Animation. Not everything needs a movie. A rushed, half cooked short and forgettable movie adaptation isn't the be all, end all of what art can be.

I think it was kind of implied that the operator sort of sits inside the warframe (kind of like armor but with Void Shenanigans TM) since using transference sends you directly out of your frame, But it definitely looks way cooler here.

Yes and no. It'd be great yes, but making a movie like this vs a series, the movie is cheaper and more beneficial as a pilot.

@@asuraphreak Why would it be more beneficial as a pilot as a movie? Homestly, I think a Warframe series needs multiple seasons for this reason. Season one would focus primarily on world-building and establishing factions, including the political decline of the Orokin, start with what makes them great, the good stuff, the utopian aspects. Then go into the dystopian aspects, the inhuman side of the Orokin, their ritualistic, greedy side. Throughout season one, it could focus on how the Grineer were originally made and for what purpose, this could tie into the politics and potential civil war aspects as well as maybe having the Corpus formed to benefit off of some of the political strife going on. As the season progresses, the Zariman Ten-Zero plot is developed and explored, this would be built up to throughout the Season (or it could be at the start of the Season with the children trying to survive being a sublot throughout the Season) with the children's rescue being the climax of the first season. The Tau project would be setup towards the end of this Season, with the relevant resources reaching the system by the end. The machines which would becone Sentients would need to be given importance prior to their arrival at Tau, both as a revolutionary piece of technology as well as being almost wholly necessary for the project, since it would kinda ruin them a little if they were just random bits of machinery which happened to gain sentience. The first half of Season 2 would focus on the development of sentience of the Sentients (weird sentence), as well as the treatment of the Tenno. I'm going to stop typing now because I just realised that all of these prequel ideas ruin the narrative of Warframe since a lot of these events are meant to be learned about (re-remembered almost) by the Tenno, and they spoil the effect of quests like Natah and The Second Dream

Because you don't want to pour thousands into a series unless you know it'll take off. I'd say start with a movie doing the old war. If that does well and takes off, start a series. As a business major, that makes the most sense. They already have the staff, they just need to do a movie. If it takes off, they'd be able to create more jobs knowing there's a solid foundation to work with. Would you blindly put upwards of a few million doing a single season of a show or would you do a movie for a fraction of the cost? Keep in mind, either way is testing the waters. There is no guarantee of success so it could be a loss overall.

Where you get these numbers, last full quest dropped in June 2018 (The Sacrifice) Then you had bunch of prologues and lore cinematics in 2019-2020 with big content updates. Not pointing at you but some people that play only Warframe 24/7 need to chill and touch some grass or other games, they have 10.000 hours in Warframe and crying that there's no content, you obviously finished that said content in those hours probably twice or thrice.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's been stuck, just... expanding laterally. In various and loosely connected ways. And six years...?
