The creepiest thing about the video is how the narrator sounds almost glad about the current state of the Imperium. As if he wouldn't have it any other way.

The auto generated subtitles capitalize "emperor". Looks like the google machine spirits know what''s what.

I love how the narrator sounds like he’s bursting with pride. Like he’s reviewing his own magnum opus.

I like that the intro for the Emperor, with all its vivid descriptors of him and his inexhaustible armies, would normally be reserved for the most evil faction of any other setting.

The happy tone of the sad state of the Empire of man. The speaking of how he says the emperor has been given power via the will of the gods and never calling him the God Emperor. The speaking of the progress that has been erased from history books and thus no man would know. The narrator is Tzeentch

Dark Millennium? Good thing I got a flashlight!

If there will ever be a W40k movie, all the trailers/teasers should be like this. A brief introduction to the lore instead of your usual inane trailer that spoils much of the fun of the movie.

I will never get over how this is the first video in the TTS playlist. A literary masterpiece of description concerning the appalling and depressing state of the Imperium of Man. Then you get TTS. Never has a juxtaposition been so fucking hilarious.

"He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods" Okay that's HERESY twice over, for saying gods exist and also daring to suggest the Emperor is beholden to any but Himself.

THIS is how you introduce someone to 40K in style. The narration is top notch in particular.

This is what I would send to anyone who wants to know what Warhammer is. Bravo, this is just incredible!

I had a friend new to warhammer ask to the effect of: Friend: “so I keep hearing about how terrible the imperium is but I can’t find the rebels.” Me: “rebels?” Friend: you know the rebels, like the Rebels in star wars, Hunger Games, exc. I can’t find anything about them. Me: you mean...like chaos? Friend: no I mean like the good guys ya know? The people overthrowing the evil imperium Me: well first off there are no ‘good guys’ but that doesn’t matter...there probably all over their just so insignificant they don’t matter. Friend: what do you mean? I’m sure the empire thought the Rebels were so small they were insignificant and we know how they turned out for them Me: no I mean they literally cannot matter...like at all. Seriously if there was ever a wide scale rebellion where 1,000 worlds would rebel against the imperium...it would still be so insignificant the Imperium might not even bother fighting them. Friend: what do you mean they’d just let them secede? Me: well no but the amount of worlds and even entire solar systems the imperium just ‘loses’ do to how big the imperium is, is practically an entire meme in the community. A thousand worlds going up in rebellion might not even be noticed by anyone for decades after they seceded. Then some random guy notices the Imperial Tithe hasn’t been paid in awhile so they send a fleet show up and annihilate the planets in rebellion, leave and forget those worlds existed in the first place. Friend: wait they have Death Stars? Me: what? Friend: you said they annihilate planets they have Death Stars? Me: oh no, pretty much any single one of their ships can destroy a planet. Friend: ...Jesus. Me: yeah.

I wish there were a version of this intro for every faction/species in 40k. Mainly because I really want to see the Orks' one, which would be incredibly upbeat. All they care about is fighting, and there's stuff to fight EVERYWHERE! They aren't pining for some lost golden age, or slowly going extinct, or being eaten by the torture god, or fighting tooth and nail to prolong their slow slide into stagnation and death. For the Orks, the grim darkness of the far future isn't only war, it's also WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

I like the grampa voice! It made it sound more ominous!

I've accidentially read "Horus Heresy" book few monthes ago. Before it, I had no idea what Warhammer 40,000 is. Now I've watched this and my blood is chilled in my veins. Thank you.

If there is to ever be a true 40k film or tv series, this very thing would have to be played at the beginning. It is so integral to the literature and lineage of 40k, and also the best possible primer on the place of humanity in the far future.

Epic yet chilling to the core, the best introduction I have ever seen for the definitive grimdark that is Warhammer 40k.

This is great and all but I can’t be the only one who can’t take THAT image of the Big E seriously anymore because of Alfabusa’s Text-to-Speech verse using it for all the wacky hijinks portrayed therein?

Everybody is talking about how great the narrator is (rightfully so), meanwhile the thing that really sends chills down my spine is the ambience in this video

Am I the only one who thinks warhammer 40k is at its strongest from a literary/narrative form of story telling? Sure the video games and future films/shows that come out will be great but I think prose works well for the setting. Everything becomes much more grand, big, and horrifying when you let the readers imagination piece together the 40 first millennium.

Theres a slight joy in his voice that's just absolutely infectious. Like a historian whos just gotten to his favorite part of a retelling.

This video would be perfect if narrator started laughing after "Laughter of thirsting gods" line. It would be really creepy and awesome because it would suggest that the narrator is in fact a chaos god, most likely Tzeentch who wants to drive us in to Warhammer 40k so the grimdark future may never end. Just as planned.

This was THE video that made me get into 40k. Never touched Warhammer before. I now own 56 Orc models, have spent countless nights hobbying/painting said orcs, played the Only War ttrpg, as well as the 4th edition fantasy ttrpg, I own all of the original Dawn of War games, and have finally begun the daunting task of making my way through the Horus heresy novels. What a wild year it's been. I cannot express this enough, thank you for giving me my new favorite hobby.

When that show being made by Henry Cavill eventually comes out in who knows how long, this whole intro paragraph should be read right at the start, to let the audience know they’re stepping into a very different kind of sci-fi world…

It’s weird how this is used as the prologue for TTS. It gives you mood whiplash when you go from this, to episode 1 of TTS, where a techpriest is asking for toasters in exchange for installing a communicator into the golden throne.

This is the "Star Wars descending letters intro" or the "War Never Changes" or "There was a time when the Old Gods DIED!" of WH40k. Fantastic work! Perfect tone setting! If this is not how a WH40k movie begins, it would be a deep crime.

I love how in Oculus Imperia's series, this narrator has been executed by the inquisition for heretical statements made in this monologue.
