I believe the first UK release of the Death Guard boxes was in a pack of 6 without the Plaguecaster, second release was definitely in a pack of 8 with the Plaguecaster and a double of the bolter guy.
Hivestorm is the better box, however, if you want clear easy to follow instructions with regards to learning the game, then this box is worth your time - Dave
@@SpruesAndBrews i was thinking mainly about the 2 teams that come, but yea, hivestorm terrain is sick and also is running low on some places already. pulled the plug on the hivestorm box but this 2 teams of the starter box look insane
I'm a new guy who just bought, painted and played Introductory Set and now I wonder what should I pick next. Kill Team Starter, Ultimate Starter or maybe I should go deeper and get Hivestorm? Any advice for a novice?
@@Wooki3 Have you played any Kill Team? If you have an understanding of playing the game already, then I’d go Hivestorm, unless you REALLY want the kill teams in this box - Dave
@@SpruesAndBrews I have not played Kill Team yet. I'm aware that Ultimate Set is Combat Patrol and this Kill Team is quite different but just trying to figure out what is the best next step for a new person. All 3 seem pretty cool. Kill Team Starter has weakest terrain and no full rules but seems quite accesible but other 2 have more stuff and seem more complete. I know I will not be going full scale wh40k just kill team or combat Patrol.
Depends... What do you want to play? A large army or a squad of boys? If you want a large army, well, then is the ultimate starter for 40k not a bad choice. If you want a small amount of miniatures then is this box a great deal, especially for a beginner.
Im so getting this. Plus the eBay scalpers arent going to be too happy! 😅 fantastic review. It’s a great intro, everything simplified and brilliant miniatures. Perhaps the best starter of any system GW has made! I think it’s good that the full rules aren’t included, to stop confusion! I’ll probably print out the more complicated data cards, and cut out and paste the extra info into the pamphlet!
That’s a great idea! And I think you are right, this is probably the best starter box they’ve done. Now…to convince GW to do those reference sheets for every Kill Team…. - Dave
