I like how all the people in here haven't played the original. Gears of wars are mainly cover-based shooter anyway. This is way more out in the open there is no cover other than maybe hiding behind like some errant cover that's in the environment but it's you are walking tank and you were getting health by doing executions and killing m************ and you have melee combat. Play the first space Marine guys. Also there is an animated series that's been out now called pariah nexus.

Hammer and Bolter is the anime of the 40K universe it just came out last year with fifteen episodes and its AWESOME, but I would recommend watching lore videos first especially the ones by Bricky, he explains every faction so well and wit a comedic touch.
