Well, it may not by "dying" Gulliman may change it for better. Hell, other loyalist primarchs are likely to come back. Like Russ, Khan, maybe even Dorn. The fate of the imperium is not sure.

40k becomes more depressing when you realize that even during the great crusade, it was the equivalent of post roman era Atilla the hun barbarians reconquering earth with half broken modern day weapons and equipment. That was how far humanity had fell. not just technologically, but culturally, socially, and intellectually.
They had the most advenced troops and siege weapons, what do they teach you in school omfg. And it wasnt all "die for Khan"etc. They had parlemento like shit where khan says lets invade, lets trade, lets arrange marrige whit this and that etc, than lesser leaders would vote to do it or not. There is even a saying around khans "you can sell everything that is yours, but you cannot sell your motherlands one grain of dirt."how are your schools theach them as barbarians. Hell we dont even use word barbarian in our history lessons, the least is tribe and they are not tought as "bunch of idiots whit spears"
@@Matihood1 you three are right about barbarian term. But, is it really logical to think that Huns conquered or fight against Romans with primitive or not technologic weapons of their time? I would not think Romans would be defeated by that.
@@lovebunny2652 It's nuts that people think the early imperium was actually somehow 'good'. It was a horrible place to live for all but the ultra elite. And while it's easy to imagine the emperor as a genuine benevolent dictator, he is by all means a monster. "If only comrade stalin knew about the purges, then he would stop them!".
@@CunkGungler YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS THANK YOU, Big E was always an egomaniac and a monster, no matter if he perseived himself to be right. That's why the overwhelming romantization of the Imperium's death cult kinda annoys me when fans unironically fall into it, tho i like it in lore because it shows how delusional and brainwashed the guard and the speez mareenz truly are. That's totally the fault of some writers in GW as well, i mean you don't come out of Dan Abnett books or the Horus Heresy series thinking the imperium are good guys, in contrast to recent books like Cadia Stands and as far as i know a lot of battle books (tho they do show the imperium is still grim, they do suffer from protagonist syndrome, resulting in overwhelming sympathy and the sugar coating of how fucked up they actually are).
@@CunkGungler I say the main point of contrast is that during the great crusade things were actually improving , if slowly, and the future seemed bright, whereas post heresy everything is in decline and totally fucked. I mean, in comparison to the modern Imperium it was a damn utopia.
@@lovebunny2652 I wouldn't say he's a complete monster, more so ruthlessly pragmatic. Though it's hard to get an honest image of the emperor's character when most of the time he's seen through the eyes of characters who either idolize or despise him.
I just imagine The Emperor and those that were around for the Horus Heresy watching the shambling corpse of what he built fall apart when I hear this song
You know the image where Guilliman is sitting on his throne and Celestine is putting an Iron Halo on his head? He's attended by a Daemon of the Emperor who believes she's putting a holy symbol on his head, a xenos witch that killed him and brought him back to life, and a heretek who uses AI. 40k is the perfect mix of futurism and diesel punk, it is such a well made well designed universe that is both full of power, glory, sacrifice, and legends, and in the end very few even end up as more than a statistic
Diesel Punk is the most dystopian type of universes, It's so disgusting as an esthethic, it make sense to have a story about only evil faction fighting each other to be the most evil possible to be set in a diesel punk universe, it gives you this idea that you don't care anymore about beauty, or nature, or love, and that only remains utilitarian destruction and power, that human hapiness is a long forgotten concept.

In comparison with 40k lore? Yes, remember the Great Crusade was 5-6 thousand years and the War in Heaven stretched for Eons between the Birth of the C'tan and Necrons and the final death of the Old Ones
I love that this song and video really reflect on how the Warhammer 40k is looking back upon a "Golden Age" that is little more than myth at that point in the story.
this is the last 40k little dark age video. the rest are already taken down making it unironically become a symbolic of the last church sayonara I'm leaving this here to become a part of history
current there is 40k little dark age but with full little dark age song template with low choir version depict all of Sororitas legion,Astartes legion, Guardsman,Chaos,Custode,Sister of silence & Emperor himself
Man the picture at 0:30 really make me think about Warhammer 40k in a bigger perspective I always thought of Space Marine and humans in Warhammer being these badass soldiers with xenophobic tendencies, massacring hordes of alien monsters in the name of the God Emperor But I just realised now that humans are the only sane race in the universe; everything else wants to kill or assimilate us and the ones that want an alliance place ridiculous conditions like morally lobotomizing humans to make them more pacifist-like We're just a bunch of humans floating in this mass of chaos and temptation, trying to find our place in the world, what really matters, fighting crazy godlike abominations that are far out of our league, and somehow, through sheer force of will, holding our own
Yeah not really chief. That's not an excuse to be this messed up lmao. You shouldn't idolize the imperium no matter the perspective, they suck hard. Nearly all the most effective parts of Chaos came about from the emperor's own creations, and all the 'good' aliens didn't survive the great crusade. In a lot of ways the Imperium is responsible for the galaxy it exists in
Amazing. The song and how the pictures transitioned from the Great Crusade all the way up to the Horus Heresy and the current state of the universe really managed to capture the grim darkness that separates 40k from other (mainstream) sci fi universes
From shooting mini blackholes from your rifle and destoying planets with an average space ships, to this? The dark age of Humanity is truly upon us. Space Marine armour would just be your average grunt armour in those times. Sad.
"Giddy wih delight. Seeing whats to come" - it captures perfectly how you feel when you start reading the Horus Heresy book 1 where everything is so great and humanity is prospering... but you also know 40k, so you know what is to come and the image of the dead
Can I just say it’s videos like these that make me appreciate the one of many positive things that the community of Warhammer 40k has, the many wonderful artists that help give the universe life and personality.
I'm happy that Rylanor's picture is in it. All alone for millenia, entrapped within a tomb of a desolated world, both his robotic and human bodies broken, harassed and tempted by a demon he used to call "father" and surrounded by chaos sorcerers. Still, his soul remained unbroken: he still had his honor relentlessly shining against the darkness and even reclaimed the greatness of the Emperor's Children of old - and ended up turning traitor marines to his cause and humiliating a creature made out of pure pride. That was undoubtedly one of the best sci-fi tales of all times.
Nah, the Imperium always sucked. The Emperor is no hero and the Horus Heresy is a testament to that. Hive worlds were always shit, they never stopped doing absolutelly horrible shit like servitors, noone has rights, the Imperium was taking planeta over by force and every planet was to be under the Imperium's huge and absolutelly pretentious boots... Hell, the only change is that they weren't fanatics, it was just some regular tyrant wanting to own everything because he had a big ego and tought he'd be the hero, but he rly screwed that up by treating his children like tools, huh? Hell, they even ruined the Interex and they were a sane and advanced society that dealt with chaos pretty ok without adhering to the Imperium's shitty dogmas.
Despite being one of the darkest universes out there 40K is also one in which you can really feel the potent hope that stems from people like the primarchs and the emperor
