All's I'm sayin is, there should 1000% be a Japan planet or maybe even subempire, with it's own Guard Regiment and SM chapter. I get why GW hasn't done it (don't want to get it wrong and step on toes, Mongolians was enough) but Japan just fits so damn well in 40k and it's totally reasonable they spread out to the stars in the DAOT. Space Marines can have topknots and Power Katanas with Ceramite pieces that look like ancient reed armor. Helmets with Oni faces. Imperial Guard would have WW2 era Imperial Japan stylings. It would be so damn perfect.
Well… I like the idea of a JP themed regiment and SM chapter, but styling them after WW2 is definitely wrong, that’s going to offend everybody that they have invaded (Korea, China, Philippines) I guess an acceptable setting for a JP themed ‘subempire’ is to treat it like Krieg, a single planet (solar system)that produces amazing regiments. If I was GW, I would take inspiration from ~1904, the Russo Japanese war
@@TheGodofplastic I mean it wouldn't be the first thing in 40k styled after bad guys. It would require a careful hand but the Imperium is supposed to be "not the good guys" even according to GW. It fits and I don't really see how Imperial Japan is much different than Nazi Germany.
