Someone please help me! Does anyone know the name of the background music at 26:10 of K&G's Alexander Balkan Campaign video? Link here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SndWlYj9zQM.html
The Imperial guard wouldn’t be established until after the heresy, during the great crusade the Imperial Army was both a ground and space force with no difference between the two.
Ah, my favorite era of Warhammer. The Great Crusade, greatest undertaking of human history. The stars were ours for the taking, a true golden age was on the horizon. Such hope, that worst of all four-letter words.
I want to note somethings about the great crusade that were glossed over in the video: 1.) Imperium fighting against other human civilizations during the crusade was the exception not the rule, most joined the imperium peacefully. 2.) When a crusade came across other human worlds, it was very VERY rare for an attack to be ordered from the get-go, diplomacy was the first option, and again, it was very rare for those hostile human civilizations that DID resist imperium to be eradicated. According to a low level officer of the imperial army who served under Horus' command during the crusade and the heresy, the Imperium also made efforts to provide aid and reconstruction to worlds they had been brought to compliance. 12th primarch Angron was censured by the Emperor when he attacked a human civilization without even attempting anykind of diplomacy (Ghenna Massacre). 3.) Imperium conducted several xenocides during the crusades and the Emperor was at the very least staunchly against any kind of integrated society of humans and aliens. Many legions didn't bat an eye at the destruction of different alien species and civilizations. - Some of this is due to humanity's own bad experiences with aliens during the age of strife. Either it was former allied/neighbouring species stabbing them in the back or through the actions of a particularly hostile or malicious species like, the Orks, Rangda or Psybirds. - On the other hand, there were mentions of alien protectorates, primarchs considering if some aliens might have a place in the future imperium, or Sanguinius mentioning how there was a place in the premises of the imperial palace where they would receive alien ambassadors. 4.) If i remember right the council of nikea was solely about Space marine psykers and that the psykers of the imperial government (adeptus astra telepathica) were outside of its scope.
A few anachronisms: there was no great rift during the Crusade. It was not the Imperial Guard at the time, it was the Imperial Army. The Legion icons are wrong, for example the Word Bearers didn't adopt the daemon head until after the Heresy; it should be a burning book.
Man congratulations! I wish a happy life to him/her. I am the artist of this series on the channel by the way. People like you give all the life energy for creators like me. Take care and godspeed.
It's well done. I would point out, that the galaxy map of the 31st millennium features the Cicatrix Maledictum, or Great Rift. However, the Cicatrix Maledictum, or Great Rift did not appear until the 41st millennium.
@@velstadtvonausterlitz2338 no... in the video they say specifically that it's the warpstorm after the birth of Slaanesh when Aeldari galactic state fell: 5:40
@@dominicvandermerwe2092 Sorry to burst your bath time bubble, but that ain't just mud down there. Warhammer stories in general have no traditional good vs evil. Everyone sees themselves as in the right, even when wrong. Humanity is either a xenophobic and repressive dictatorship who will sacrifice billions a day just to fill factory quotas or demon worshipping anarchist satanists who will kill their own to improve their standing. Even the Tau would be considered a false utopian society, as the only true benefactors are Tau and not the other helper races, who are also lied to by their leaders on the galaxy and the warp. It way Farsight broke away. So think of it as less 'good vs evil' and more what type of evil the factions represent.
in general yes, but I have seen some russians are obsessed with 40k and they created some history lore video-lessons with deep stories 1 video lesson about 2-4 hours and there are 200 videos of those. Dont remember the names of those chanels.
A few mistakes: One is that the illustration of the space marines you used are primaris, a recent upgrade. Two: the imperial guard weren't a thing yet, at the time they were the imperial army. Three: some emblems of the space marine legions are incorrect, such as the death guard and thousand sons are after they joined chaos.
i'd add that it wasn't just that chaos saw the primarchs as threats, the Emperor had made a deal with them to learn how to create the Primarchs but went back on his end of the deal - which is why they scattered them.
Can’t wait to see your series on Badab War, First Armageddon War, Second Armageddon War, Third Armageddon War, Gothic War, Macharian Crusade, Sabbat World Crusade, Fall of Cadia, Vigilus, Octarius, Charadon, Indomitus Crusade….. I could be missing a few.
Damocles Crusade, The First Tyrannic war, The Second Tyrannic war, The Third Tyrannic war, The Devastation of Baal, The Shadow Crusade, and The Seige of Vraaks.
Ullanor is a proverbial drop in the bucket compared to those other engagements like Istvaan or Mars, which makes it a really good tease for what's to come. Awesome video!
Not a* half bad job. Very well done. Short, concise, easy to digest. And still plenty of detail hidden for new comes to discover and learn should they wish to explore. A job well done.
@@calumdeighton One is a backhanded compliment bordering an insult. "Oh cool, so you're not COMPLETE retards, well done, heh." Then again, you don't know the difference between their and they're, so why am I even bothering.
Hell yeah! I was waiting forever for this. Though I must point out some stuff that you should take into consideration while narrating Warhammer 40k lore. The main premise of the lore is that almost everything is "hearsay". As Games Workshop themselves claim: Everything is canon but not everything is true. For example you say that two of the primarchs were disposed off. But actually no one knows what happened to them and them being "disposed off" is hinted at but mostly uncorroborated in the lore. Officially they are stated as having had "unfortunate accidents". Things like this are very common in the lore of Warhammer 40k and they play the "unreliable narrator" trope very frequently. So, something that you state as fact might not always be so given the evidence.
Well, fuck! So damn glad that you finally decide to cover Warhammer 40k! Thanks! Oh please please do some detailed videos about the great crusade, it’s sound a fascinating era, an age of hope to say the least, sad that it was shattered later but still amazing in itself! Keep up the good work
Great presentation, love the art but it really misses a lot of the lore/actual details we know. For example, the Primarchs have got some form of warp connection, but we don't know if this is just from their souls being created from the Emperor or if they were made from lesser Warp Gods. Then the Astartes Legions (Known as the Legiones Astartes until after the Heresy were they became the Adeptus Astartes), weren't all 10,000 strong from the get go. Normally it was a few thousand, such as the Space Wolves only being about 3-6,000 strong in their first combat deployment.
im a huge wh40k buff, but i saw the lord of the rings megavideo first. watched all of it. amazingly done. i wake up the next morning and see wh40k documentary from the same channel. most perturbatory! exceptionally well done. please continue making these.
It should be noted that most of the Legions had different names before they were rejoined with their Primarchs, and were changed to the current names they're known afterwards. However, the return of the Primarchs was not necessarily good for Legions; some benefited and were actually saved from extinction by their Primarchs, some changed little and some deteriorated in varying degrees before the Horus Heresy.
@@nathanmoore101 That was the World Eaters under Primarch Angron. The Dusk Raiders (renamed the Death Guard) had their own culture and traditions erased when they were rejoined with their Primarch Mortarion. By the time of the Heresy, there were few Terran-born Astartes left that remembered their Dusk Raiders traditions. One of them was Nathaniel Garro, whom would play a large role in the Heresy.
This week has been very stressful and equally tiring for me. Not been able to watch videos from this channel for quite a while. But my brain recharged a bit when I saw the title in my notificants feed. A smile may have also creeped in too lol. Hit that bell icon guys if you enjoy the channel, sometimes it actually does help you cheer up a bit when you really need it.
So so so much information was missed especially on the the background of the emperor of man but I think it'll probably be filled in as the time goes on. I'm just happy Wizards and warriors have picked up WH40K
Excited to see Kitten, Brother Santodes, Rogal Dorn and the Fab Custodes on this new series! Especially the part where Kitten plays EMPS on the PARADOX-BILLIARDS-VOSTROYAN--ROULETTE-FOURTH DIMENSIONAL-HYPER CUBE-CHESS-STRIP POKER. 🤣
I'm really glad that Wizard & Warriors has delved into Warhammer 40K lore. Understandably these videos are a general overview of the setting, and many know that there is a LOT of details that couldn't be covered in this timeframe. After watching many other Warhammer 40K channels there is much I know and still don't know and hope many commentators will share the details within the comment section. One day I hope Wizard and Warriors will make videos based on the worlds of anime/manga, as a vast source of many fantasy and science-fiction stories.
it's a lot to get into but so worth it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C07IBfAUaXY.html This is from a great game, really shows the scale of these engagements. As the planet tore itself asunder people could still make out battles raging across fragments hurled from the mantel, the men and women of the Imperial guard still fighting valiantly. This is where the saying comes from, "The planet Broke before the guard!"
I've had to do a double take at the thumbnail, because I was recognizing the big, golden man known as the Emperor of Mankind, aka as Henry Cavill during our time.
Man this video creates curiosity about the history of the Imperium of man❤❤❤ keep on making these, i am also a video editor, i learned alot from this one alone thank you so much!
Love your channel, please make a video about what happen if the Tau discovered an STC. I would love to see the hypothetical conflicts and stories if the Tau discovered one.
Thank you all so much for doing this! I've never played WH4K, but I am mystified by the lore! I find it fascinating, yet so complex, so I appreciate it!
This will be a big challenge for wizards and warriors for Wh40k lore is long and extensive like no other as it would take days to read a single lore about a single battle or crusade within the Wh40k universe
not bad, not bad. actually didnt know(or maybe forgot there are soo many books) that my boy ezekyle was the last surviving member of horus´ retinue on ullanor. now i wonder what the other 9 could have accomplished
Very nice video! Could have pointed out the fact that the Imperium of Man at the start, before and during the Great Crusade, was a secular empire but that's just nitpicking. Love the work as allways, can't wait for more of your 40k lore stuff! :D
Great Video with incredible production! Only small issue i see is that you underplayed the great loss of technological advancement during the age of strife.
