One of the "Gaunt's Ghosts" books perfectly summarizes this. Imperial guardsmen were deployed in secrecy on a chaos controlled world. it's suggested the world was so entirely corrupt just *being there* was enough to make the inquisition put everyone sent at risk of being in front of a firing squad after the mission was accomplished and everyone got out. After the exams and interrogations it was found none has fallen to chaos. Because they were so fucking loyal to the emperor and most importantly their superior officer that they just...refused to be tainted.

If you think about it the Emperor is the one at fault. He made it a point to not warn any of his sons, including Magnus, about the threat of the warp. They didn't even know there were warp demons let alone gods. If they were told and trained against them this wouldn't have happened. Especially Magnus who unknowingly made a pact with a chaos god to protect his 1000 sons

I mean, most of the Primaris were either in stasis or freshly recruited into the ranks, so it's understandable.

Space marines are recruited from teenage boys and primaris are the newest version. Soo yeah theyre pretty young

@@keen8549 yeah. Very understandable from the lore standpoint. But at this point we are kind of used to the bald fuckers with service studs on their forehead look. So the primaris look is very fresh.

That is intentional. The primaris were taken as young boys and were never forged in the crucible of war like other young astartes. They were perfectly preserved in stasis pods and veteran marines often remark at how "fresh" they look.

I mean better to die instantly from a Necron disintegration beam than be gutshot by a Commissar for retreating against orders. Honestly better to be atomized in less than a second by a green laser pointer than MOST deaths in 40k.

That seems like the best death out of all the deaths in Warhammer 40k. Die instantly at the molecular level so you can’t be brought back or tortured.

I'd take dying by weapons like that over a bullet or a blade; at least it's always a very quick or even painless way to die.

Sorry but no, being shot or stabbed is much less painful than dying to a gauss flayer. They don't just disintegrate you instantly, they flay you atom layer by layer, hence the name. It's basically akin to having your entire body dissolved in acid.

Sure you die, but you feel yourself melting apparently unless its a hit to an instantly fatal location. Stupid part is against guass weapons, Astarties are just as weak as guardsmen really, their only real defence is their enhanced speed, otherwise their ceramite armour melts just as quickly as a guardsmans flak armour.

Now it's horrible. Back then that was the best we had tho for an actual movie. We've really come a long way huh.

Look up Arch's content, he has one of the broadest and most extensive library of 40K lore available. Luetin09 is also really good.

But overall the problems are more in the story and how it was delivered, as there were long stretches of nothing. It would be nice to have it at least remade with current tech.

problem is whatever we get will not be 40k as we know it , if you read the lore 5 min you know it is way to brutal for adaptaion and way to complex to do in small series , even the horus heresy has how many books? condense them into a series of lets say game of thrones volume so 8 seasons of roughly 10 episodes and you still get a trailer worth of the lore

You'd be better off telling some small scale individual stories with the hersey as the backdrop rather than trying to tell the whole war. Basically do a Band of Brothers style thing, pick a small unit and show "highlights" of their journey from the great crusade all the way through to the seige and eventual retreat.

Honestly best animated 40k things so far that I've seen are Astarties and Hellsreach which I admit used alot of half life assets with grainy filters to do alot of its story telling. The less we discuss the truely terrible blood angels movie the better.

I find it weird, it looks like the sisters are ridiculously fast just to keep pace for being unaugmented humans. Like bruh, astartes are supposed to move like a blur compared to normal humans.

In the lore Sisters are often described as being able to perform superhuman feats due to being juiced up by Big E, so this isn't much of an issue. They're the most zealot worshipers of the Emperor.

You actually understood the concept very well what Warhammer 40k is about. It's most used slogan is "There is only war". There is no good guys, all races that fight in this universe is bad. But that is the charm for a fictional setting as that way you can make amazing stories without the constraints of trying to be morally good.

The sisters of battle power armor is basically the same but smaller than what the marines use so they have enhanced strength. But obviously that was a badly choreographed fight

During the Terran Crusade, at the end of the ''Reign of Blood'' and Age of Apostasy, Goge Vandire's ''Daughters of the Empire'' ( the proto- Sororitas) managed to successfully hold of a military force of several Space Marines chapters & Imperial Guard regiments. The Sororitas also regularly fight Chaos Demons and with great success to boot. What makes all you tourists think, they can't kill a Traitor Astartes? Hell, even normal Guardsmen have done it. It's not an easy thing to do, but not impossible at all.
