Not only did they do this on behalf of blackrock / vanguard/ amazon dei pressure but they also completely ignored the equally as powerful all female counterpart to the custodes the sisters of silence in favor of female custodes

The funny thing is, there are entire chunks of the lore that are female only. Calidus assasins, Sisters of silence, and the Adepta Sororitas is an all female military wing of the church. These are all beloved parts of the lore.

The lore says they're trans human, some apparently are more trans than others. Chances are the new characters will be OP

These companies do not care about their audience, the very people that made them successful. Just don't buy their products, especially the new things. Retain the old, solid, good things that you have purchased and just use those. Let them chase that 1 or 2% and see how they fail. Give them consequences and this nonsense will stop.

I used to write for GW. Started playing in the 80s, worked there from the 90s-2000… it makes me sad to see this happen to my 40k. But things have been slowly going downhill for a while now. 😢

They did the same thing with Primaris Marines. "oh, no, there were always primaris marines who are half again the size of regular space marines." In fact, GW has a 30+ year history of retconning and crapping all over their own lore. ETA: 5th edition 40k was best 40k. freezing lore at 5th would be the most reasonable course. Unless you're GW, and your number 1 goal is self admittedly selling toy soldiers.

The thing thats the most annoying is, women were always in warhammer and have always been badasses in their own right, but that wasnt good enough and now they have to bend the lore to force them in where they werent before, all these companies are basically telling fans to stop wasting time learning the lore and gettint immersed because they will change it on a whim, it shows they dont care anymore.

As someone who’s been an avid Warhammer 40 K player (and Warhammer fantasy, now Warhammer AOS) for over 30 years, and someone who has seen nine additions of the game, and owns seven different factions. They can play it almost 4000 points each, I’ve seen DEI creep into the writing for several years now. I’ve seen feminists who don’t play the game scream on message boards, and players in real life, about the sexist nature of having an all male fighting force, as an option to play, while simultaneously saying that the sister of Battle force, which comprises of all females is empowering for women getting into the game. There’s plenty of representation for women in almost every faction, and no one has a problem with it. The Lord being Redcon is something that happens fairly often, so even though we all know it’s being done for political purposes. It’s not what fans are upset about. It’s lying, and silencing of dissenting voices on this topic, and the obvious pandering to people who do not play, the game, enjoy the novels, or even involve themselves in the hobby of painting and modeling. It is a cynical push, insert modern politics into peoples escape from the modern politics of their daily lives. GW has made a mistake, that will cost them billions of dollars. See Disney see Bud Light. Warhammer fans are fanatical.

For anyone not familiar with the Games Workshop company, this is not the first time they have worked very hard to alienate their own customer base. Price hikes, changing rules drastically to suit one faction of players or the other, yadda yadda yadda.

This is all a power move to control Henry it’s pretty obvious. You don’t force female custodes who are gene seed creations from the emperor. Both the sisters of battle and silent wear power armor not as bulky for obvious reasons he’ll even some female inquisitiors wear them too. And yes if they’re interested in a strong woman they could’ve expanded Inquisitor Solace Deschaine and she’s a nut lol with a fun backstory this isn’t just lazy it’s to control simple as that.

The biggest issue I find is that no one is pointing out that there are females in every other faction in 40K. Just no female space marines/ custodes. Will there now be male Sisters of Battle?

For those people who agree with the change and argue with the famous quote "Why should you care about what happens inside this fictional universe?", I ask you: Why do you care? If it is so irrelevant why are you going out there demanding and endorsing that this change comes through? If it is so wrong to care about it, why do you care about trying to make a case and point in changing decades of lore to appease the ESG? Be real, you do care just as we do, but for you is not a matter of love for the hobby, what you want is that the setting be made in your own image and not to be what it always was: a grimdark universe filled with factions and groups, where there is no hope or progress. The only constant in this indifferent and cruel universe that is 40k is war. For you that is not enough, you want your slimy politics and view of the real world to be inserted in it, the problem of the hobby is not us who are trying to defend it, the problem is you. Calling the likes of you tourists is inaccurate, for me the correct term is "colonizers" since you all go from one thing to the next, then ruins it with r*t*rd*d politics whom nobody outside from a very vocal but small minority on Twitter takes seriously, and once it is just a husk of what it was, you disappear to suck out another thing.

One thing most people seem to overlook, is that the Hobby of WH40K, has always been open for people to make their own lore, headcannon or fanfiction if you want to call it that. There have allways been people that think they want to make female Space Marines, and convert them to females, and usually they also have som fanfiction for it. And mostly folks say "oh cool models" or something like that. There are also people who say "well thats not cannon" but, usuallly folks play with friends, and friends usually allow people in their groups to do what ever, as long as it doesnt break the rules. So how it works is "Ive made these dog folks, and they are bad asses! without armour. So they count and play as SPACE MARINES" or what ever. And idealy people in that group says its okey, its just them anyhow. So! That some custodes are now being female seems wrong in the canon lore. BUT there are probably someone that have made the effort to convert their whole custodes army to females (because he/she likes female designed armors). And thats no problem. And the work are often seemed like cool or interresting. I know, becouse ive been playing one of the most neglected armies in WH40K history (with friends also playing some niche armies), så I had to invent stuff all the time. For instance, had one playing Squats before 3rd edition. Bummer. they where retconned. But you could use rules like "Counts as Space Marines", and it worked out rather well. Untill League of Votann came though. but still. why not? But finally, Custodes are male. They just are. Cheers.

Completely agree, there was already plenty of representation for Women in other armies, I have a Sisters of Silence army, I used to play sisters of battle, I have had an Esher Necromunder gang since the 90's ', it makes sense in those armies, as The Women have ablites the men do not,

Brotherhood not always have to mean "only men" for example Fallouts Bortherhood of Steel where there always been women in their ranks some even being Paladins. But the differnece is that in Fallout we knew from the beginning that the Brotherhood allows women into their ranks but in Warhammer from the beginning we knew that Custodes are men.

You know before this there were only 2 armies that didn’t have any females in it. Orks, and space marines. The custodes had sisters of silence. So if they come out and say it’s for representation just know they are talking a bunch of BS.

GW is horribly woke and knew is they changed the lore they would lose customers, but Amazon TV show with Amazon money have ordered them to put in the show a strong female character. So GW have thrown their lore and business under the bus for Amazon, not a great plan.

And promptly GW went broke from everyone boycotting it. I mean, why buy stuff when 3D printing is on the rise anyways - and with GW's lawyers out of the picture, who's gonna stop that? Nobody. Just get the old rulebooks, 3D print your own models and have FUN. ..and also stop taking loans out to buy 40k stuff. They already lost their goodwill when they cancelled fan projects (including TTS) - so now bowing to the woke, they might as well go down into bankruptcy

I could find dozens of examples too, just recently reading the book on constantine valdore or the numerous sisters of battle referring to the Custodes as the SONS of the Emperor and the SOB the daughters of the Emperor. etc etc etc Other references include how the Emperor chose the best of humanity to create his Custodes and the Astartes and in no world could a female ever ever ever be consider the best when it comes to creating the ultimate soldier. I can imagine during the Siege of Terra when Abaddon comes upon reconned female cuckstodes, Erebus and Abaddon break out into hysterical laughter then slaughter the cuckstodes without breaking a sweat.
