Warhammer Fantasy Lore - Cult of Verena, Goddess of Knowledge 

“Now you know...and knowing is half the battle!” Athena, combined with Yoda's philosophy? While derived from real-world history, the two founding principles to the Cult of Verena are also reflective if applied to our modern reality. Justice has been seriously negated in the current century due to a widespread lack of learning from the past...ever and ever nearer in history, too. On a less deep-thinking note, that first pictorial of Verena is a gorgeous stained glass image. The following picture is fitting in its own style - being Warhammer, gotta represent at least one skull in the Imperial iconography, somewhere. I like the embellishment detail and Warhammer design of Verena's own suit of armour, at 5:00. The owl as a hearaldric animal seems to unanimously represent the value of wisdom across mythologies and religions - at least in the real-world West. That one of this cult's tenets, though - to preserve knowledge “at all cost”? I think the Necromundan House Van Saar could find some dangerous accord with that Verenian priority. Not that any of the libraries of Verena across the Old World wouldn't be worthy of day-long visits. Indeed, how many books from the Land of the Dead do the Cult have in their secret possession? Seekers of countless Necronomicons. Hence, the sword of Verena. Fascinating, to be sure, Narrator...I think they are both liberal enough and grimdark enough for Warhammer; a parallel to the Cult of Shallya. I always liked the cult of Verena, they are refreshingly rational.

I find this goddess a bit out of place in the Warhammer setting. This deity should belong to a post Enlightenment era rather than the Renaissance (the Empire).
