Ogre using heavy weapons : "At this point were no longer talking about actually cutting the enemy down, but more along the lines of a brutal car accident happening everytime that fat fock decides to take a swing."
So in other words an ogre wanders into Cathy in his "Sunday best", the sweetest, most innocent smile on his face and a little cardboard sign ,that says will work kill and eat enemies for food, And the people around him give into their feelz, check their privilege and take pity on this poor soul?
Maneaters are really a combo of mercenaries, hunters and cosplayers. They are the weeaboos of Ogredom. Speaking of which, if they ended up in Nippon, they would just have to find themselves some fukhuge anime weapons.
12:19 I don't know, an Ogre dual wielding great axes sounds pretty damn effective. No need to defeat the shield wall if after two swings any individual foe with a shield will want to get the hell out of the way and his shoulder to stop feeling like it's on fire.
I have a dozen Ogres in my Warhammer army ... and they are "Zookeepers of Altdorf" ... (you kinda need big guys to keep big monsters). [One of them looks suspiciously like Hulk Hogan.]
Hey Arch, have you considered making a video on Cathay, Araby, Amazons and some other lesser known Warhammer factions? Not to mention how they'd fit into a Total War game
6:17 - Chaos ogre maneater? The best of both worlds! Though ogre ninja sounds cool as well, i wonder how much swordsmanship, hand-to-hand and stealth an eager to learn ogre can actually absorb and sucessfully use?
Has there been any confirmation about chaos ogres or the large monsters that weren't part of the original chaos release being available in the near future? I'm still disappointed that the empire and bretonnia don't have access to maneaters. That's life I guess.
I’ve always believed the ogre man eater was one of the most under utilized concepts in war hammer. The fact each one lurns and collects gear from the culture they serve with has so mutch potential. I’ve seen all these great molds of them for every faction on 1d4chan. They had ariby ogres duel wielding giant swords dwarf man eaters with a bearded and hammer a catha ogre with a fireworks canon A skaven ogre with a warp fire thrawer a lizard man man eater with dinosaurs done weapons and armor a vampire ogre a mummy ogre even a slan ogre riding one of there giant floting chairs. Even a clan skeir man eater with a robot arm. Not to mention the effect this all as on the gnoblars they bring with them. We’ve all laughed ate the pairet gnoblar but really think about it I’m convenient the Gnoblar Pigback Riders are or at least started as gnoblars who went to britiano and so the nights jousting and charging into combat and imulated them. And the others mobles show them there to the skaven model as a gnoblar dressed like a plague monk anoth with a giant rat a the green skin manetar has a noblar and a squig sents there goblins and that work with night or forest goblins should be able to lurn some of there tricks the lizard man ogre has a spear and is helping him capture a live dinosaur. Speaking of witch don’t beast coaster ogres ever become man eaters think off all the beast they could bring back dinosaurs from lustra trolls from and giant spider from green skins gorgons from beast man all the chreats of the choas wast hell there’s even a teentren moble with wings and a second ogre taring a way out of the main ones gut there so mutch you can do here
I always have loved the Ogres and have a variety of lead belchers as well as maneaters and a hunter. I dont play fantasy I just loved them and made a small unit to display for fun. One of the maneaters I gave a warship mast complete with flag as a weapon and a jaunty hat because why not...
Image a man eater that was completely shredded I'm talking 100% muscle mass zero % body fat. Top that shit off with the genius level intelligence. The amount of shit that beast could do.
Imagine if they got the Ogars, fitted out in suits of hardened steel, painted and lacquered, for rust protection, with leather lining on the inside of the armor plates for both reduced noise of clanging armor, minor protection against the heat and cold that steel tends to change to based on the weather conditions and flame weapons, as well as the leather lining to give some protection against metal shards in the armor, being pierced by crossbow bolts, or light cannon shot, for example. Then you just need to train the ogar to run, jog, sprint at battle speeds, and so on. A human tactician can split the ogars into squads, platoons, or companies, and just send orders to the leaders of said groups, to formulate an actual battle plan. As long as the ogars can to at least trained to move together in a combat squad, with one squad leader, and second in command, that they will follow.
2:53 "They even go as far as to adopt their customs, with one example. No ogre will ever give up its guttplate" You meant to say exception, I think. However, considering the vast amount of lore videos you've brought us, one minor error in a language that is not your first is actually pretty fucking amazing. Keep up the good work, mighty Arch.
I feel like Ogres are done best by Warhammer. The lore actually gives them real sentience, not merely a power of speech to create roleplay opportunities to mock them like most every other setting does. Ogres can be civilized, literally, so long as they are well-fed. Sure, the gluttony is overplayed at times, but the basic idea that the way to an ogre's heart is through his stomach is charmingly different. I have long adapted my DnD and other settings to be like Warhammer Ogres, making far more interesting NPCs and companions.
This it’s why I love the spellforce 3 trolls more than lotr or even warhammer trolls but the same rule applies they are an actual race that is more than just “roar big angry monster” it’s why ogres usurped greenskins and my favorite race they have so much opportunity in them for role play or gameplay
O_O.... How Scary Would a Fit, Ripped and Muscular Ogre would be with a full battle plate Armor forged by Dwarfs with Runes on it and Train By Sigmarite Battle Priest with a big ass Runic Hammer Like Ghal Maraz holy shit talk about a Full Chaos Killing Machine
At the end of the video, I finally realized that the parrot-gnoblar had the bottom part of his nose chomped off, to create the beak-look. It was really confusing at first, since I didn't seem to find any obvious signs of ownership! Sneaky sneaky ogre.
I can't stop laughing at the Savage Orc Warpaint reference! Fucking wonderful! Also I never knew that ducking parrot was a Gnoblar that's great!! Fucking Cow-cum!
Hey Arch, can you do a lore video on the "Asia" part of the Fantasy universe, like Ind, Cathay and Nippon? I know it will definitely be short but I would like to see you try to scrape as much information as possible from all of the sources.
