Any time Arch talks about the Skaven you can notice the increased enthusiasm in his voice. I think CA should hire him in order to bring Skaven into Total War with the "dignity" that they deserve.
+Jesus Perez skaven dont have dignity. But there should still hire him but for all race so that the game have the right to call itself a warhammer or total war game
You mention the dangers of the warhammer waters often. I usually don't make requests because I think my requests are dumb and pestering. But a video on the baddies of the waters would be lovely.
broderick kurtz kharibdyss are hard and in water there natural environment there rock hard there's thousands of them in the boiling sea not realy boiling just churnd up up with all the monsters in it
Humans do incredibly dumb things......like turn to Chaos, turn into nations of the undead, or steal all the Lizardman's shit. lmao, that's hilarious! Why I love your videos!
The Southlands were seperated as part of The Great Plan actually the Old Ones separated the continents remember. There are also no Saurus in the Southlands so the Skinks had to compensate for it. Lastly the "Beastmen" there are basically Apes. Savage Orcs also have shrunken brains from being in extreme heat for too long.
Nice one Arch. I'm working on a thoroughly African army list for the Southlands because people keep asking on Warhammer sites and because we are now seeing good fantasy and mythology data coming out of Africa. I'm also looking at the lost Isles of Elithis = Australia. I'm an Australian so we want our own army too. That's in the works. The Africanish army list is based in the foot hills of the world edge mountains on grass land plateaus surrounded by jungle. The tribes are civilised and an army of order not chaios but with a few confusing units; Centaurs and big snakes. They are not the cannibals on the coast but are rather fond of fighting among them selves a little. They are armed to the teeth with African beasties to back up their spears and shields. They are low technology but with metals. I have thrown in brown skinned dwarves. Plus a little hairy magic fellows living among them. I'm dragging together 'lore' from Timbuktu to Zululand to make up the magic and tactics. I will need artists eventually.
im doing something similar right now. I am using perry miniatures line zulu boxes and sudanese. also several "beastmen" from reaper. havent made them a proper army yet, starting with 2 distinct warbands
The Southlands, also have larger number of Skinks, they out number the Saurus. I once made a Skink army from the southlands because I liked that lore. Don't underestimate the poison attacks. ;)
Well Africa in the real world is also almost half jungles, so they are really similar, the whole middle part of the continent is mostly jungles, or at least it was when I was in school lol.
In the Lizardmen 7th edition army book, it says as far as I remember that under the guidance of the Old Ones the 3rd generation of Slann created the Worlde Pond by separating Lustria from the Southlands, witch was part of the Old Ones Great Plan. It was during the Great Cataclysm that the Lizardmen of Lustria lost contact with the Lizardmen of the Southland. In the 8th edition Lizardmen army book it is even specified that the Lustrian Lizardmen haven't had the faintest of ideas if the Lizardmen of the Southlands are even alive since the Great Cataclysm. If I remember all of this correctly that is, I'm very open to be put right.
Indeed. The separation of Lustria and the Southlands was a deliberate decision and commanded by the Old Ones. The landmasses were split so that the island continent of Ulthuan could be created between them. This happened long before the Great Cataclysm and had nothing to do with it.
Hey Arch, just have to say I love your lore series, particularly the mellow medieval music from some of your earlier army lore videos: its super relaxing to listen to. Please keep making these lore vids dude!
Chaos dwarfs live in the east , Grimgore came from the east with a bunch of massive orks who would have had something to hate long enough to grow that big. Grimgore- "WE WILL NEVER BE SLAVES". World of warhammer confirmed
Hey I know that we have little information on many foreign nations (Ind, Nippon, etc.) but we have a little more on Cathay. We know that its a large and seemingly powerful nation with a dragon-emperor, robotic warriors, fight with the chaos version of the mongols, and that they were eventually defeated. So I was wondering about the relationship between them and the High Elves. There is a trade relationship one that seems that both parties have taken great pains to establish. I recall that they high elves trade roughly the same stuff as that traded during the actual Silk Road era, but is there anything else? Do the High Elves have formal diplomatic relations? Do the series of forts protecting sea routes extend any further, or at some point is it chinese forts that protect the route? How do the High Elves view Cathay, normally they think of most humans as being little better than most animals (in fact worse since humans can turn to chaos). But what do they think of Cathay? Its emperor is a dragon, and seemingly active, unlike most of their own dragons. But at the same time it seems to allow elements of chaos to spread (the worship of Tzeentch, and the active and visible presence of Hung traders/mercenaries on the borders). What do they think of their superiority if they are forced to trade with a merely human empire for the finer things in life (e.g. silk/jade/etc.)? Any answers would be good, even some speculative answers.
well, the real black people turned into canibals, and the more egyptian ones turned into living skeletons.. so the only badass ones are the arabian like ones since they live on the same continent.
i still find it funny how the most capable magic users on par with the elves are a bunch of deflated toadmen XD P.S. i love the lizardmen 2nd favorite faction
Hey Arch love the channel do you ever think you might do a video about the East of the warhammer world? True there is not a lot to know, but I feel if you can make a video about the Southlands then the East from Nippon to the Kingdoms of Ind, the Hinterlands of Khuresh, the Lost Isles of Elithes, and Cathay itself.
What is the information about the last Dwarf from Karak-Zorn was a Daemon? Was this from the novel "The Great Betrayal" portrayed by the Dwarf character Drogor?
Quite informative, thank you. I would suggest that you make better use of visual aids; often you speak over a static background that could be used to illustrate the topic, sometimes when the image doesn't match up to the current topic. Maps, models, art; there's plenty to choose from and you wouldn't suffer for an image a paragraph, even a sentence.
+Arch Warhammer Love, LOVE your lore videos. TW:Warhammer's delay to May, although likely necessary, has been killing me. Been using videos created by you and others like +Loremaster_of_Sotek who is another good source to help make the time go by. Thanks for the work and keep doing what you are doing.
a point i not sure about is that the 4th gen of slann where described as being spawned to make the great ocean, where as the 5th gen were spawned a few centuries before the coming of chaos (i.e. the great catastrophe) and the 7th ed army book said that the sinking of Chupayotl cut off contact with the outposts beyond Lustria suggesting they still had magical contact till then
Great lore vid as allways Arch. Would you be interested in making a lore video about the Dragon Emperor? Love to hear what lore their is on Cathay/Ind and Nippon. And as always: "Fuck the End Times!"
Arch, You said the beast men here look very different than those in the empire? Could you elaborate on that? My understanding is they look like tigers instead of bulls?
how much lore is there about the navies in the warhammer world? can we get a video on that? There's going to be no naval warfare in warhammer total war as far as i can tell but I'm still curious.
Hey +Arch Warhammer have you ever done a video on the adeptus astartes? I'm kind of new to the lore so I don't know as much about them as I would like.
The Duke I was wondering about that too! I thought Arch was going to talk about them in the video, but alas, he did not. If this region appears in one of the total war games, it would be really cool - really cool - for the beastmen of this area to have unique appearances!
Hey arch, in light of the Total Warhammer (screw Games Workshop, still calling it that.) release a month or so from now are there any plans for more Rage of the Dark gods for Med 2? With the new 1.6 version a first implementation for SKAVEN and tomb kings were added (and yes, they have Jezzails and Ratling Gunners.). Also, if you plan on playing either for a video or just in your spare time, i highly recommend a program called Large Adress Awareness which fixes most and close to all of the crashes that normally make the mod a nightmare. It helped me personally to actually play the game and even LegendofTotalWar did a warriors of khorne campaign using it with hours of gameplay and no crashes so far. So this goes to anybody who wants to play the mod, get Large Adress Awareness. Pretty much fixes the mod.
+toetapanter9 There is also submod in the making, Begining of The End Times, that introduces lizerdmen, Dogs of War faction and makes map three times bigger, and more lots of things. Creators claim that they fixed most of bugs and crashes and say they would realease it before TW: Warhammer. And they have Doomwheel. : ' )
+lisa j Southland is just in position of Africa(below Europe - Old World). Besides there are some deserts there. Lustria is South America in Warhammer world.
about 80% sure southlands are under the dark elves lands to that makes it south america. the place with the tome kings and the Arabs that more like Africa !
The way I see it the Southland's are a combination of both Australia (cuz let's face it Australians are more or less the Greenskins) and Africa + Arabia
Can you do some Lore on the creatures of the deep? I really love the lore I never got to play the table top. I know you and the Lore master of Sotek don’t get along. But he touched on this race in a recent video. I would like some more lore on it. do you think you could do that?
+Emil Vang The Saurus are some of the oldest races in Warhammer and they've been basically stuck in mayan age culture the whole time. Anything they do they've been doing the longest.
"Unlike the Africa of our day, almost half of [the Southlands] is covered in dense jungle." Technically this is true, but don't make the mistake of assuming Africa is all hot and dry- the Congo is a massive rainforest, only just behind the Amazon in size.
You forget to mention that the Arabyan scholar actually managed to leave the Southlands with enough gold so Araby could build its own fleet to challenge the High Elves for sea trade routes.
