It would be a very cool way to go, though I’m leaning more towards it being a Rangers (or as someone else has said) an ‘Expeditionary force’ including Rangers. Maybe they could tie it all in.

Rangers would be perfect, and I wonder if that second character could be a Ranger (though Thorek would be ace too). Hopefully not long now until we find out.

They’re one of the ranges that I think I’ve loved some minis from each era.

It’s great that so many old sculpts are coming back to people either re-buy, or get when they missed first time around.

Ah I remember now, I picked them up as an army set, same this time around as well I think, and the battalion box has both.

That’s a very good plan 😅. I’ve assembled 2k (minus the new King model) in plastic for now, but I think I’ll slowly start to re-collect all my favourite metals.

I have the same fears as well, especially as those plastics from AOS used to be 8th Ed releases. But I’ll live in hope.

Where? There’s the line about Longbeards, which is possibly a hint, but I can’t see anywhere something saying those three sets of sculpts are definitely coming back.

I didn’t see that myself, they mentioned ‘Longbeards’ meaning old gamers I think, but they were also hinting at returning minis at the same time, so could be a big hint even if they didn’t directly say it.

Yes, that’s what I’m basing my hope on - that Longbeards reference when talking about other models coming on MTO makes me hope, but I strongly suspect it won’t happen or it would have been announced already for hype.

I’d really love to see the Marauder range back, that would just be awesome.

Sadly no dates given as yet. The Orc & Goblin Tribes were announced on 20 Jan (Full Old World launch day), and went up for Pre-order on 23 March, so nearly 2 full months, and their actual release day was 6 April. So 9 weeks to Pre-order, 11 to release. So maybe end of May going in to June? But could be earlier as well, but it’s rarely more than 3 months after something is shown.

Sadly GW prices are nearly always the highest in the market.

The engineer army is definitely a good shout.

That would be cool. I definitely think something Ranger based (or as someone else has commented, that but expanded to a sort of expeditionary force, which I love), or engineer based.

@@MiniatureRealms rangers would be tricky, because there’s really only one troop that covers that theme while the engineering guild heads quite a lot of troops to expand upon. Besides it would be the opposite of the slayer army in terms of gameplay. If they do engineers I expect them to bring back the extra crew for more accurate warmachine’s shooting. Also, would be great in conjunction with the dwarf tank… if they ever release that!

@Tulkash01 Yeah on paper I have to agree I think. Though if it weren’t pure rangers and an expeditionary force, then that opens up not only rangers as core, but also maybe extra miners or something like that as well. Remember they can add units without new models, as have the Border Princes Brigands in the Bret Journal, so they could add a higher level of rangers, almost Ranger longbeards. Who knows 😂, but I think they could do either, and I think id actually like both 😆

Thankfully no, but I think the Dwarfs have been delayed by ‘issues’ and now have to wait until after the AOS 4 launch sadly.

I think all artillery has taken a bit of a hit, and Dwarfs with them 😬. Funnily enough my guy with the pipe and my chef with pig on spit are know where to be found, I hope your Goblobber turns up.

@@MiniatureRealms Yes, me too. Likewise I hope your chef and pig reappear. Think the Grudgethrower is the most disadvantaged of the artillery in the new edition - base sizes, return of rolling for partials, no rune of accuracy or whatever it was called. Cannons haven't so much got worse as the things they're best for going after with have been improved beyond recognition. Bolt-thrower is better now, great if you get a flank and don't miss, but then there may not be an awful lot of ranks to shoot through the rest of the time at least of elites and BS3 at long range isn't much good. Organ gun is OK but expensive, flame cannons are what they are. Don't really understand why Dwarf artillery is worse than some other factions' artillery now, could really do with being able to use the Engineer's BS and better runes. I guess the shooting is going to have to come from the infantry instead - Rangers and Irondrakes are obviously very good and of course we have Gyrocopters though it would be nice to think a more traditional Dwarf army could still do well and I mean to find out for better or worse.

It’s certainly a challenge, I hope they can sort it out soon.

Could be cool to get new sculpts, I have a feeling it will just be Bugman’s Rangers returning though.

They do yes, probably not quite the old world aesthetic, but with a few alterations they could be mainly to look good.

I wish I knew. There are plenty of rumours about delays to quite a few releases due to stock and logistics issues, and I think there’s probably quite a bit of truth to them. I think the plan was probably to have them released by now, probably earlier this month. I think they’ve been hit by those delays, and unfortunately now have come up against the AOS 4th Ed release, which means they could end up being after that (I hope not).

@@MiniatureRealms i have seen some posts and heard some rumours they all being released quickly like to get attention fast rather then draw it out and that high elves are for summer so aussie winter....but see what happens i guess🤷‍♂

That very interesting, I’d certainly love to see them all out as quickly as possible so the game keeps its momentum, but I also worry about how they could manufacture them all in a short period, they’re struggling to keep up as it is. I’d guess that we see a bit of a gap during the summer for the AOS 4th Ed release as well, but I hope the rumours you’ve heard are right.

@@MiniatureRealms Yeah, perhaps. They only thing with that is the Bretonnians are composed of more material, so maybe that will affect the price as well.

@@MiniatureRealms If not, there are alternate methods of acquiring Uther's Company. eBay, re-casters, etc. Re-Casters are definitely going to be a man's best friend in the age of GW "Made to Order", where the chances of seeing said items again are next to none if you miss them. That's my concern with the Marauder Giant. He's going to be really expensive, offered in a short window, and then gone forever. eBay resellers are going to have a field day.

@scoticvsgossage9378 I like the MTO business model, yes it’s frustrating when you can’t afford them when they come out and miss them, I’m certainly going to have to make some tough choices I’m sure, but I’m glad they’re back, even if for a short while. I think they probably know in reality that the majority of players will buy the plastic giant that has now been claimed by AOS, even the other one they brought back is more of a nostalgia piece. The eBay resellers might cash in, but it’s no worse than it is now (will be cheaper by far). Recasters will do what they do, that doesn’t really interest me.

Really good point, so with two plastic options to make Longbeards and metal ones will very likely be on mail order.

I know a lot of people prefer the older Gyrocopters to those 8th edition ones.

I’m mean you may be right, but unless you’ve read the book yet you don’t know fully what’s in it. Much of it will be keeping to theme though, Dwarfs are what they are. I would love an airship though.

I think £100 for 66 models is pretty value for GW, but price is a personal thing really. I’d definitely argue the game is far from dead, it’s constantly selling out, loads of people are playing it. Not everyone will like it though.

Ubfortunatley it does feel like something that would have to be purchased with a discount, it is a lot considering how much more you would have to add
