The fact that KRuber was able to impress one of the ruling bodies of an entirely different faction to gain a class proficiency is very telling of his character.

The difference between Kruber and Mallobaude is that the latter obsessed over finding the grail and getting the blessing of the Lady to the point he became insane and his heart became black from hatred and malice for the Lady because he had wasted his whole life devoted to her. Kruber stayed pure of heart because he fights for something much bigger than himself and he's fully aware of that and isn't fighting for fame or glory but to protect the world from Skaven and Chaos. That is why Kruber was chosen despite not being fully Bretonnian while Mallobaude was rejected.

I love how they kept his character in the trailer like at first he’s like “...Seriously? I have to pray at a lake??” Then “Ok nothing hap-“ and finally “Right then: FOR THE LADY!!!”

Unlike most people who were introduced to Bretonnia through the tabletop or Total War Warhammer, I learned about Bretonnia when I saw this trailer. I didn’t even play Vermintide at the time. Who is this guy? Who’s the Lady? Why is this so unbelievably cool? And now that I’ve played Vermintide 2, I’ve bought the DLC, I’ve played them in Total War Warhammer, and I’ve read up on their lore, I’m back here where it all began, with this video in my recommended. And all I have to say is thank you, Fatshark. Thank you for introducing me to one of my favorite factions in Warhammer.

Man, I was afraid we'd get some humor heavy Grail ceremony. Fatshark delivered beatifully with this cinematic, the Vermintide theme, the Lady whispering, Kruber falling down then rising as the Lady whispers "Arise, Knight of the Grail". Now this is epic. I'd have loved some Green Knight presence to test Kruber's martial prowess, but Fatshark blew my expectations nonetheless. This trailer was grim, daunting and beautiful simultaneously. The Lady wills it! Embrace thy Bretonnian heritage, Markus. Honor thy mantle.

Gotta say, I love this interpretation of the lady. Very occult and antediluvian. Like a raw force of nature, older than the lake itself. Very cool.

I'd have loved if the trailer ended in a cut to a tavern, where Kruber goes "I swear, that's exactly what happened!"

I honestly thought it was a trap and he was tricked into drinking poison. But I think Kruber has the heart and soul of a Grail Knight.

I remember Saltzpyre mentioning that he could help Kruber become a templar/witch hunter since he sensed that he had an "aptitude" for rooting out evil. I guess this is what he sensed.

my favorite part of this cinematic is when kruber begins to transform the whispers say unusual

Right after drinking from the Grail Grail Knights experience a rush of power, during which they also glow brightly enough to make it dificult to look at them. This light burns and blinds Chaos and Undead affiliated creatures. During especially intense moments of combat the Grail Knights can get a similar rush and glow back for a little while. Could we possibly see this as Grail Kraut's special?

I never noticed it before but Kruber burps after drinking from the Grail, I love that small detail and it's absolutely in his character.

While it's a bit far fetched that Kruber can become a Grail Knight because of a distant ancestor, it's not all that bad. Remember, there is a contingent of Bretonnian Knights who have settled in the Border Princes, and it's a lore point as to it being questionable whether or not they are true Bretonnians with the Lady's blessings or not. The idea of Bretonnian expatriates does exist, and it's an interesting one to explore. Where Kruber becoming a Grail Knight becomes more iffy is that he's never undertaken a Grail Quest. Even this is not that big an obstacle however, as the Lady has on rare occasions granted people Grail Knight or Grail Knight like powers without being Questing Knights. All the original companions were granted the Grail with no run up, and Repanse de Lyonness seems to have been granted Grail Knight like power similarly out of the blue. So it's not impossible, it's just a once in a blue moon event.

Maining Kruber, i'm stoked about this addition. tho i want more enemies to chop (Orcs etc) but i understand if you push that to the 3rd game

I can't state this enough. The trailer, especially the music is brilliant. Even the motif of the Lady of the Lake is a respite in the grim times, yet it's both beautiful and wistful and sad.That's the true Warhammer for me: beaty in sadness. LOVE IT!

Sigmar's a bit more magnanimous in his gifts - all Saltzpyre had to do was ask nicely.

A part of me wish a character like the bretonnian from Trollslayer when gotrek and Felix went Karak- eight-peaks. Like that would be amazing, always loved image of bretonnians wenturing out in to the world on epic quests. But implementing a whole new character, would cost a lot of effort, time and cash, so it's fully understandble that you guys when for this :)

I main Krubah since the first time I played the game and got hooked on FK during the prologue. Things are going to be interesting... Seeing everyone trying to get a piece of the Bull of Ostland. (Now Bull...Of Bretonnia?)

Would've been great if we had a Bretonnian character in a sequel or something, the class is stellar and I think the bantz would be pretty great.
