If you are looking for the best Powersports winch you can buy, look no further. The WARN AXON winch is by far the toughest winch on the market. The new AXON model is also one of the easiest winches on the market to install. The contactor is located inside the IP68 housing of the winch, so there are fewer wires to run and no contactor to mount. Warn calls the digital contactor and motor combination the Motactor. They claim it will increase reliability and life of the winch.
The WARN AXON winch models are all built to the highest standards with a solid powder coated frame and stainless steel hardware. We are also big fans of the new switch that is rubber coated and gives a more positive feeling to the user.
The new AXON winch is slightly larger than the older models as there is more inside the case. This can cause a small issue for some winch plates that were made really tight for fitment. On our 2019 Can-Am X3, we had to modify our aftermarket winch bumper to fit the AXON 45S. It was an easy mod with light welding and well worth it to be able to use such an awesome winch. Be sure to look at the specs and sizes of your bumper before you make the purchase. The 45S will have no issue being installed on the OEM Can-Am winch bumper.
Pur Polaris Turbo S 4 will use the WARM winch mounting bumper with the AXON 45RC. That model has a smaller bale and holds 27' of 1/4" Spydura Synthetic Rope. The standard Axon 45S holds 50'. The shorter amount of line is a small compromise for more pulling power in a smaller package. We plan to make up for the shorter rope capacity with more synthetic rope and straps in our recovery bag.
We have owned a lot of winches and we will proudly say that none of them have matched the quality of WARN Industries. If you want the best, go WARN.

Speaking of winching. I have a 2019 canam Outlander Max with a warn winch. It has never been used and just last week I had a plow mounted to it at the dealership. My machine has 198 miles on it and I use the plow for 10 minutes and the switch on the handlebar kept clicking and won't pick up the blade. After looking up warn winch on the Internet it appears the solenoid tends to be the issue in most cases especially on can am or ATV winches. I really thought Warn had the best respect and brand on the market but it appears Not so much in ATV applications. Can anybody on this tread recommend a better brand or is this normal for these to go out like this? I'm calling warn on Monday and see if will be covered by a warranty. I also checked the contacts and loose wires. All appears good.

It is tough to get these new Axon winches to fit much due to the larger size.

Yes, I have their fairlead and ProLink on my personal Jeep. we also used them on the Travis Mills Foundation Jeep. They are crazy expensive to UTV stuff so I do not know we would need or use them here. Awesome stuff and they are proud of it!

Only negative. Solenoid is not accessable so your can't use the Warn wireless remote control kit.

Yes you can, just purchase the hub and you have full wireless via Bluetooth

What bumper did you guys have to install it? I just got the can am pre runner bumper the the axon doesn’t seem to fit...

Odd, we have a stock Can-Am pre-runner on our 18 with a 45 in it. We modified an Assault Industries F22 bumper to make one fit. what seems to be not fitting? The size? Holes?

The holes line up, my bumper just has these round grooves in it where an older winch would sit in. I also noticed the 45 is bigger and more “square shape”, where the older ones were round and would fit into these grooves. So my 45 won’t sit flat on the bumper for me to put the screws in. Even If it did fit, it would be pointed down and I would have to spool the rope thru the small hole on the winch when on the Box I see the rope should be spooled thru the big opening... wish RU-vid would let you send pictures lol you guys are the ones I’d need to help me out

The video helps a lot! Our Can-Am bumper is older and the lip and cut out is not there. I imagine they did that to add a little more strength. So what you can do is mark out the area that does not fit and cut that area out so the winch will fit and be flush so the bolts and mounting plate fit correctly. If you have a grinder, it will take minutes. Next, the openings on the winch are there so it can be mounted in different positions. So yes, the rope would come out the top of the winch. That is how the old and new Axon work on the Can-am X3. It does not hurt the winch at all. The fairlead would mount just as you said. I understand if you are disappointed that you have to cut your new bumper. We have had to make a lot of mods to make stuff work on our Can-Am X3. If you were close we would do it for you.

Wrenches & Rides So I called Warn again and told them that the rope would have to come out of that hole in the top and they said that isn’t what it was for, it’s there to combine the 2 pieces of the outer casing together. I think it looks good enough to feed the rope thru the hole... is that what you guys did or was it mounted so it can feed normally?
