I got my dealer to put 275s on back with the stock 245s in front, wouldn't have guessed they would decide to put the 275s in front and the 245s in back, for a reversed stagger. This does NOT work out well in case anyone was wondering
What up crib? It' nice to see a fellow Michiganian holding it down with some true Detroit Muscle. I'm from Yaktown (Pontiac). First and foremost the ride looks dope and sorry to hear you had some issues with the your fitment. Here's my 2 cents and I hope it provides some insight. I spent a couple of weeks researching wheels for my black 2019 challenger rt as I wanted a more aggressive stance. Long story short is I quickly learned more than I ever knew about offset, backspace, etc. This is the most important aspect of aftermarket wheel fitment combined with finding a wheel vendors who knows your type of vehicle in depth and not just happy to sell a wheel as there are plenty of those types out there unfortunately. Since the day after thanksgiving I've been running Ferrada FR3's 20x10 / 20x10.5 with 275/40/20 in the front and 315/35/20 in the rear with absolutely no rubbing or modifications needed. No cutting and definitely no spacers as I'm not down with spacers. I'm at +13 / +20 and even I didn't think the 315's would fit after my tires arrived but they did and they look awesome! I get no commission from them but I would suggest anyone with a challenger thinking of beefing up it's stance, check out Fitment Industries website as you can see what works to include type of tire and offset. I'm posting my black on black 2019 Challenger RT w/black FR3's, and red caliper covers soon so I can share my fitment info with others. The consensuses for challengers is +13/+20 but I have seen some with a +15 / +28 but that's a matter of taste and wheel manufacture. The higher the positive offset, the more the wheel sits inside the camber. I believe you said your @+25 in the rear and that is probably why your rubbing the inner plastic. My +20 doesn't touch anything of course the way the manufacture designs the wheels has to take advantage of the +20 offset in the same way. I hope this helps and great! video. Keep up the good work...Subbed 4 sho
@@kanwarsandhu2161 Check to see if someone has already tried them out and what they suggest. 11.5 you can go pretty big but that offset I am not familiar with.. Report back what you find out!
@@coopdogg871 I have 2017 challenger RT and previous owners did change suspension kit and lower it and I don’t have stock one now and the issue I’m having is 315s comes little out of the body which I really like but they might hit the body when I hit a bump not sure but I don’t wanna risk it and so I guess only option is 305 or 295? Any other suggestions cuz I love 315 at the back!
@@kanwarsandhu2161 It depends on how sturdy that suspension is for sure if they are sticking out past the wheel well I would assume they will rub on bumps/potholes did you check to see if they added spacers? You could go 305's but I agree like Arby's 315's got the meat!
the offset of your wheels plays a big part in the rubbing as I found out. Installing 5mm spacers solved my issues along with using metal snips to trim the rear area like you did.
Thats crazy! I have 20x10.5 with 22mm offset 315 35 20 20x9.5 with 15mm offset 275 40 20 with no rubbing at all.. its all on the offset. And my challenger is lowered by 1.5 all 4 corners.
I just got me some 24×10 looking for a stagger set for my vehicle the older 07 Chrysler Aspen 5.7 I'm slowly working on I was looking at 315s or the 330s in the back
Hey Coop, great info. What size rims are you running? I have a 2016 Challenger RT and I'm putting on 275/40/20s in the front and 305/35/20s on the rear, in the Spring. Right now I'm running snow tires! Thx
I am running 305-40-r20 on a 10.5 rim and i am having the same problem only mine rubs from the driver side plastic but not only that on both sides it nearly grazes the shocks so am thinking of putting spacers
Dude you know your car isn't the wide body adding 315's in the front is going to scrape, leave the front ones 275 or 295 or max of 305 but don't do 315's on regular body the rear ones all you have to trim in a portion in side the wheel well so it won't scape on bumps remember your front tires move left and right not the rear ones.
So it looks like the shocks are going bad. Tires appear to be chopping. Could be the lighting. I know it's 8 months old. But it could cause the wheels to tuck a little farther when launching
I am guessing those are the original shocks and will be one of my next MOD's I actually read something today I didn't know could be an issue that come spring I will have to look into. The larger size tires cause more of a squatting effect so I may not be getting all of the rubber on the road because of the 315's. Someone corrected theirs with SPC bushings so yet another MOD on the horizon.
That's actually one of the cleaner rides I've seen. I know that as a mechanic and a good one. That I've seen that a number of times and shocks no matter how good they are especially factory one sometimes will need to be replaced sooner especially on a vehicle that does get launched hard and has as much motor like that one does. The 315s will definitely cause it to launch harder. but when the shocks start to wear, they cause a chop basically from the tire rebounding/jumping and you don't really notice it on the tires, till rotations. and then if you're doing burnouts or any of gforce activity. Aka fun stuff, that it's going to drop the tires into the fenders and eat them up too. A good lip roller helps. but that's more than likely what happened they have gotten weaker and launching the car put the rear end of the car down lower and into those big tires.
The stance is changed by lifting the back end and not the front plus no one being in the car. No bumps no curves many factors not represented on ramps...
The 275's were a huge improvement going to 315's in rear added more grip but more weight as well to rotate. Your call but I like the look so worth it to me!
Oh absolutely I just went from 245 to 275 on the back the only problem I would say is that your car will kinda feel wobbly at high speeds I think that might be because you have to even out the front too and put 275 up front too im gonna go sometime this week to even out and have 275 on the front as well
I wouldn't suggest going any bigger on the 9.5's I think the widebodies run a 305 in the front now days but I think that's on an 11 you would have to look it up.
Looks good but tbh 315 is not necessary for the RT it only has 375Hp though prob close to 400hp dodge is being conservative. That being said 275 should be good enough. 315 width for scat and hellcat makes more sense. I have challenger TA also put on 275 does help with acceleration for sure.
315's for my Corvette go on a 11" rim, why would you even try on a 9" rim? It is a 1985 Corvette and fits, goes to show you that not much progress has been made in tire size. I used 1990 ZR1 rims.
Steve Holloway Agreed I personally like to avoid using spacers but it is the quick and easy option. I have had no rubbing since the video...that’s what’s up! Thanks for your input appreciate all feedback
My rears are on 10.5" and fronts on 9" so I cannot tell you what's best for 11". I however do know that 315 on the rears with the adjustments made have no issues.
@Lucky_Devil_426 why you hating, besides ever hear of upgrades. You know things like a cam, headers, FI, gapping rings. Can get 5.7 to exceeds 600wHP. But if your just a RU-vid dreamer with your VeeSix car and upbadge your name because you don’t have a job living with mom at 35 then so be it
@Bob-gy6ud no hate at all but I agree 315 is a waste unless going for looks. Just think about this 315 is added weight to a heavy car. I can do same 60ft with 275s as I do with my 305s there's 1000hp mopars runing 8s&9s on 275 tire.
