Mounjaro reversed my IR and PCOS inflammation. I was also able to lose (so far) 28 pounds in about 10 weeks after 3 years of counting every calorie, eating like a toddler, and not losing a single pound. My total cholesterol also went from 205 to 155 in a month. I was INCREDIBLY lucky that my insurance is paying for it and it only costs me $54 a month. This drug is life changing.

I started taking Mounjarno injections and was shocked when I lost 18 pounds in two weeks. After that I have been losing about a half a pound a week. I do notice it keeps me up at night and I am averaging four hours or five hours of sleep, and I was always 8 or 9 hours. I am pretty shocked by the results and only have about 10 more pounds to go to my goal weight so I will try to do it on my own after that. I received the bag and saw that my insurance saved me $1148.56. 3 yrs ago I was 305 lbs and I'm now down to 220-225 lbs but haven't been able to get anywhere from there. Ozempic is a dangerous drug for an older persons with neuropathy. I was prescribed Ozempic for Type II DM. I had two very dangerous falls because Ozempic aggravated orthostatic hypotension to such an extent it caused me to blackout suddenly and fall. The first fall caused a severe break in my left ankle which required surgery, and a head injury. The second fall caused a broken hip. It took weeks of hospitalization before my doctors figured out Ozempic was causing my BP to drop so low I would pass out upon standing. It took eight weeks for Ozempic to clear my system and allow me to stand up without blacking out. No one has mentioned this problem with these types of medications but it should thoroughly be explored.

This answers a lot of questions. I saw a video of one person's horrible experience with "ozempic", but when she gave details, everything sounded so shady. First of all, she had health conditions that should have excluded her from using it, or at least should have made them extra cautious. She talked about the "doctor" using their own special recipe for the drug, so obviously it was a compound and not the real deal. She then talked about how she discussed her disabling side effects with the "doctor" and it wasn't until after many months of use and her own insistence that they agreed she should stop taking it. The way she talked about it, it really sounded like her "doctor" was more like one of those shot clinics, where they have a nurse give you B12 injections. It just didn't seem right to me, so I went ahead and got the legit drug from my primary care doctor that I had a good rapport with, confident that, if I had any issues, they would be supportive.

My PCP just put me on Mounjaro. I am 300 lbs, but had been a normal weight my entire life until I hit about 66 yrs old and then the pounds piled on. I hadn't changed my diet, life style or exercise at all...I don't drink either.....it just piled on. Then, with my annual checkup, it showed I was a type 2 diabetic. It was a genetic time bomb waiting to go off and it did. I've had every ailment my father had and his prescription list might have well been mine...knee replacement at 65 check, favorable, treatable prostate cancer at 71, check. My father passed 10 years ago and weight 300 lbs at 91 years old. I weigh 300 lbs and have a dense bone structure. When I discussed this with my NEW DOCTOR...the previous just retired and was a burnt out, short timer who didn't care anymore. My new Dr. has put me on Mounjaro starting at 2.5 mg. I don't eat processed foods, cook for my wife and I. I exercise, active, eat mostly protein and veggies....very little fruits (if it's white, it ain't right) like bananas. I pray Mounjaro works for me.....I pray to God this does the trick.

@@feszanicz I'm not sure about addiction. However, I have type 2 diabetes. I was on metformin for the rest of my life and I had my type 2 diabetes still high, but "under control". With Mounjaro, I'll have to take it the rest of my life, BUT, a simple compounding pharmacy can make it and my guess, it will be a godsend for many people whose weight is strangling them. I've chronicled my diet, my exercise regiment and my PCP said I was doing everything right, but I was fighting 3 genetic time bombs according to him. 1. Inherited Genetics itself 2. Diabetes type 2 3. Insulin resistance due to A1c in the bloodstream and 3. Slow metabolic rate, again, genetics. I'm answering you out of courtesy. I was looking at being on Metformin the rest of my life, but still fighting the pounds for reasons listed above. These prescriptions will help people live a normal and balanced life. I don't drink, I don't eat processed foods as I cook for my wife and I. So. To answer you, at age 73 I had resolved myself to taking metformin for the rest of my life. Mounjaro promises to give me a great quality of life where I can walk, go to the shooting range, play pickle ball without moving 305 lbs of fat around everywhere I go. I'm okay with that. 30 lbs is easy to drop for six to eight months just with a little modifications of your diet. Traditionally i can lose up to 40 lbs in a couple months especially in the summer months but as I got older and suffered more health issues it became harder. Now after a heart attack i lost 40 lbs and was feeling pretty good then i really hurt my back and they discovered a bone spure on the disc facing right into a main nerve. So mobility was cut right down, walking is not always possible. Dr suggested Ozempic twice over the last year so i am looking into it. Here in Canada drug cost are much lower, going to see if I am even covered. If i can get some weight off the chances of surgery are better as well and the recovery time goes down. Look after your health while you are young. Stay active and eat sensible.

@@ALT-vz3jn Arctic, PS, Helix, and the rest all source from China. If you go this route, get a vendor that does third-party lab analysis on all of their batches and make it public. Even then, it's not necessarily more affordable. $520 for four 10mg doses on Arctic is more than most weight loss clinics charge ($325 - $450) for any dose level. You can order direct from China as well and cut out the middle man, save 50%, but you'll need to do your own lab analysis. Mass Spectrometry and UV. Agree, but there are at least two problematic issues playing into the abuse: 1). Most Americans have high blood sugar levels & are borderline diabetic. 2). Profits for the pharma company; doctors too, via office appointments. Both pretty much guarantee over-prescribing as a preventative to save patient's lives. Because many Type2 patients won't follow their doctor's common sense diet & exercise advice. Patients want & demand a quick fix to address the long-term bad habits that wrecked their health. (I cut sugar/candy, soda, pasta, white potatoes & most breads from my diet 5 years ago & within 7 months my blood glucose levels dropped from the 135-140 range to the 90-100 range. Also lost 50 Lbs - no medications needed. And the health results & eating habits have lasted. It can be done.)

It's currently approved by the FDA for control of type 2 diabetes. However, in the United States (and other countries as well) once a medication is FDA approved, a board certified physician may write the med for ANY USE they deem patient appropriate. This is called writing 'off - label', and is prefectly legal. This is up to the doctor -- some will write off - label, some won't.

Luckily, our pharmacy does that but many do not. That these drugs are more difficult for diabetes patients to get, it's a shame more overweight people aren't prescribed other weight loss medications. In the 1980s, Fastin did wonders for weight gain from depression. It helped my depression, got me up and going and kept the weight off.

I think having a plan to come down from the medication. I lost 26lbs. Just with IF and keto my a1c is normal now. Three a year ago I was very close to being type 2. But I hit a plateau. I am 50 now and have Started ozempic my ins is still a $400 copay along with a coupon code It’s down to $257. But it’s better then the alternative of life long disease and disability that diabetes brings. My plan is to wean down after I get close to my goal and continue with IF and low carb. I know I have IR and an underlying metabolic syndrome (dx) through my daughter. I was already having neuropathy and vision changes with pre diabetes. So using this drug I am hoping to reverse these symptoms. My kidney took a hit with Covid and I gained a ton of weight after I lost it with keto so my plan is to regain the life I lost during Covid.

Hello, I would like to know about the sideeffects of this Mounjaro, are there any side effects of developing thyroid cancer in long term?
@Kepi_Kei
@Kepi_Kei Год назад
Everything causes cancer. If I don't eat, drink bottled water, I would be dead in days. So while I make note of all things cancer causing I haven't really changed much. I would seriously go crazy if I followed a cancer preventing diet, and making that my focus. It would probably kill me sooner than the cancer would.

It seems like it’s related to this…”More than 10,000 semaglutide (*Semaglutide-the generic name for Ozempic)-related adverse events were reported to the FDA Adverse Reporting System (FAERS) through the fourth quarter of 2021, of which numerous of these adverse events were specificized as gallbladder-related disorders. According to FAERS, all the reported cases of cholelithiasis (gallstones) were coded as serious adverse events. The Benefit-Risk Assessment in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research’s (CDER) clinical review of Ozempic (September 6, 2017) speaks to the efficacy of the drug, while also acknowledging the drug’s safety profile being consistent with the “known safety profile” for GLP-1 RAs, “with gastrointestinal adverse events being the most common adverse events.””

The most frustrating thing for me is that there is no information available for people who do not need "reduced cravings" because they've been on keto for months or years and don't over eat or have cravings, and yet still can't lose the last 20 pounds because they've plateaued, but have objective confirmation of ketosis, a calorie deficit and perfect bloodwork. My triglycerides at last check were 65. That's evidence of a nearly perfect diet. The only other people I have come across who are like this are hypothyroid. When are doctors going to acknowledge that even these drugs don't work if you're hypothyroid, but being treated doesn't fix the metabolism problem?
