This video changed my golf life forever. I'd take your course, watched videos, and tried the method a few times and would end up going back to traditional. I had been using the left shoulder as the center, but would still come OTT with your method, once I saw you swinging club in front and finishing high and to the right, everything clicked. You streas the down swing drill, but I think this drill is way more helpul. Thanks Jim

Well Jim, I thought I was getting pretty good at this until I saw this video..lol. You have such amazing control by doing nothing. It’s almost poetic in that, ‘ To master stillness you must not so much correct this or that, but eliminate it altogether.’ Much like the artist who doesn’t carve a beautiful piece out of stone but removes all the unnecessary stuff to arrive at it. Good job Jim. I’m still on your path and embracing the progress.

I meant the club tugs- it pulls me out of my setup... letting me know it’s over and it’s ok to break stillness.

2nd best golf instruction video ever just behind your "The PGA's Perfect Golf Swing" video. Rory doesn't have your setup or maybe even the stillness but he has the same swing. Nobody swings better from the inside than Rory. He has to do alot of extra steps but he gets closed nearing the top and into his transition and stays there. Great stuff! Thanks!

considering that every decision I ever made in my life has led up to my watching this video, yes, mind blown. love the helicopter analogy! Reminder for all you hackers like me out there: the goal of golf is to play as little golf as possible, so stay still and listen to "the most interesting golfer in the world," JV, who first shot his age at 18yrs.

It seems like the traditional swing path involves swinging the club around the body. However, Jim is teaching us to use both arms to swing the club right in front of the body.

You aren’t far off. Both the traditional swing and my swing require you to swing the club in front of your body(chest). The difficulty in the traditional swing is that they rotate the chest throughout the swing while I maintain the closed posture of the chest in the set up, backswing and through impact which significantly simplifies the swing. The modern swing actually is worse than the traditional swing because they don’t keep the club in front of the body in the downswing. Far worse than the traditional swing.

I like this concept. Can you ever “overdo” the inside-out swing path to where you can start introducing the hosel / shanks or is it the more inside-out (closed shoulders) the better?

Coach Mike Craft watch my left shoulder as I display what the swing actually is and you’ll see the shoulder stays there, this creates an axis point for a circular swing...anything that swings in a circle can create centripetal force which causes the head of the club to lunge away from the center...which creates speed at the correct portion of the swing...where the ball is....the bonus is, unlike baseball, gravity is our ally.

Outstanding visual and "feels" -- I heard Malaska describing something (in a more convoluted way than you have here) similar .... Do you suggest any drills or ideas to help ingrain this helicopter concept (and to re-train) -- I have been a victim of spinning out too much, largely because I have not grasped and applied this concept

migbgold 7 try to repeat what I’m showing you in the video but do it in a practice swing. Keep your shoulders closed and it’ll happen the same way every time.

Jim, I understand the focus should be on stillness. However, I want to ask do you rotate your arms during backswing and downswing (to make club face fan effect)? What is your downswing trigger?

atitud Langgam my trigger is stillness, if I stay Still the club moves according to the position of my body and my grip. No fanning the face.

Jim, I have a curious question. Say the ball is in the middle of the stance and the feet are aligned to the target then it is normal swing. If I stand 45 deg to the target and face the ball, I have a closed stance, But, I am not pivoting. Weight can be on the left foot. Am I following your system?

Enjoy your videos but question the amount of speed you can generate. When I strike it well, my 7 iron goes about 145 yds. with a traditional swing. Do you think I would need to “club up” to a six iron for a 145 yd. shot? I’m 71 and looking for a swing that’ll be easier on my body.

@@jimvenetosgolf I think it's a matter of fear that keeps people from trying your method. People want directions with intent and this swing pattern is almost like cheating. You swing One direction and the ball goes the other, sort of but not really. I liked the video, possibly this one, that talked about the beginners intermediate and advanced application of the swing. Seems less intimidating. But I can see how people would resist. Their loss, but so is it yours as well. But give it time. I think it will catch on like wildfire.

I am interested in jim's golf academy. When I went to the site I saw two prices. One was $599.00 and the other $399.00. What is the difference. I Emailed the academy and have yet to get a response. Can someone please get me information, or perhaps share the information you know on this subject.
