They really are at the top of their game at this performance. I love how Dany has rearranged When I'm Alone. Despite its origins it now feels like it is about her being alone on stage with her guitar playing to a crowd. Completey different feel now. Huele a melon! When you can perform a song in Mexico before more than 3000 people and everyone of them is singing along with you in English, that is an accomplishment. Ale's bass work on their entire QOTMS album is amazing, especially considering how old she was(n't) when they recorded the album.

Actually all of TW and parents were there in Boston together when they were at Berklee. Dany was missing her friends and hometown. They have consistently talked about how they love their hometown food which was not available in Boston. In a vlog she talked about how she talked to her friends who told her that they would be there for her when she got back. Dany’s programmable pedal board can duplicate/triplicate her guitar in different octaves with different effects. You probably heard that.

Yeah, that really sounds like the pedal board - it would be hard, even with a perfect click and backing track, to get two different sources perfectly synchronized like that.

@@billholder1330- not necessarily. They play with a click track. This is why they're so tight. You do know in the song *Survive.* There is a backing track of a piano. I don't see a keyboard on that stage. Yet, it's perfect each time where it's supposed to be. In the song *Dust to Dust.* I keep hearing Rudy but I don't see Rudy. But the sermons always there at the right spot. But it's true Dany has a delay thru her peddle board.

@@kevinthetruckdriver353 yes they use a click track and backing tracks, but this sounds more like the on-board octave splitter. I do that myself in my rig; I can tell the difference. You get a slight chorusing effect playing against a background track of the same part - that chorusing sound isn't present here. They do both techniques, but I'm pretty sure this one is the board not backing.

I always found that the drumming for When I'm Alone is extremely musical with the flare-ups, fills, etc. just in the right place.

My two favourite The Warning songs are Hunter (mostly for Ale's bass) and Revenant (their vocals are haunting and get me in the feels every time). I'm happy I fell down the rabbit hole a couple of years ago, these ladies rock ❤🤘

Pau's drum fills are in your face but suttle all at once ,just enough but not over the top. Hunters bass line is awsome and I love Pau's sceam ! " THERES NO ESCAAAAAAAPE! I'm so happy she did that part live instead of using the track.

The track, even on the original was just not intense enough. They do, and will improve.these songs as they see a need. Both of these songs are different from the original recordings.

Oh, man, you made the onion ninjas come out twice?!? When she points to the crowd to finish off the intro brings me to tears. The statement of that action and the crowd's response, to know that in fact you are NOT alone, is a very poignant message. Yes, she was at Berklee, but with her sisters. She had an assignment to write a song, she was a homesick 15-year old, and this beauty came out of that. Goodness. I agree that they play for what the song needs. They don't play to "Look at me" but rather "here WE are! We hope you like it." As an ensemble musician myself (small combos, big bands, orchestras), I also have really appreciated that about them. I really enjoy how they use their voices as another instrument/member of the band. The whole of The Warning really is far more than the considerable sum of their parts. Fun fact, when they played Hunter as the jar song in May, Dany said this is their mother's favorite song from QotMS.

Something I did not notice before. Dany is the only one singing on this song. No backing vocals at all. She truly is singing alone. Great song.

Hey Cheezy! Actually, Dany was homesick for her home and friends. Dany, Pau and Ale were all at Berklee along with their parents. In fact they were all so young they all needed special permission (I think that summer program is for 16 to 18 year olds) and Dany was 15, Pau was 13 and Ale was 10. Ale was so small that her Mom carried her bass from class to class for her. You can tell in their vlogs that they were all having difficulty with homesickness. Fun Fact: Ale's Bass teacher at Berklee predicted that within 10 years we would be see them on stage receiving their first Grammy. So, two years left to see. As for Ale's Basslines, it may have to be Disciple for me. Just such a Groove!

slowly slowly this concert is being released and it's sooo good. Interesting with When I'm Alone , I have heard it 410 thousand times but to be honest only just noticed that their is zero back up singing on it..Pau and Ale stay silent and it truly is "Dany's Song" Could see you just chiilin and enjoying that Cheezy :)

They just really don't have a bad song. Their stuff isn't like a lot of bands where it all sounds the same. Their sound is extremely dynamic. Most likely comes from them having such wide musical interests and inspirations as well as waiting to sign with a record label that would not control them. They stayed patreon funded until they found a label that just basically said, "you do you"

Yes, she mentioned in some interview somewhere that she was just starting to work on incorporating a bit of distortion (growl) into her vocals. I’ve speculated that it may have come from being around Lzzy Hale for most of a summer? I’ve always loved Dany’s vibrato. It appears she can somewhat control it from a bit of a hammer vibrato to a fuller natural vibrato.

Yes i totally agree, all their musical and instrumental competence could be let loose, but rather is leashed to the service of their songs. But, as in songs like Disciple, there are many "moments" that we look forward to. AND what great sound mixing and visuals in these recordings!

Yeah I was there and it was one of my best concerts. I wanted to go to the Pepsi Center Concert but because of the time it was impossible for me, but yesterday they published that they will be in my hometown, so see you there in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico. 😋

Notice when she sings it is only her alone for the whole song, no backup singers. It starts there is light only on her. When it ends there is only 1 light on her.

I wouldn't call Dany's voice phenomenal, but it gets the job done for rock music [Linda Ronstadt being an example of phenomenal]. However, she has achieved phenomenal for her stage presence with live performances.

Some of the intricacies of Ale's bass lines get lost in the overall mix, oftentimes overwhelmed by the vocals or guitar. To get an idea of what's sometimes missed, track down the video where Ale teaches Dany the bass line to Z. There's some really good stuff in there that is otherwise difficult to hear in the studio or live versions. It's also just a really entertaining video to see the interaction between the two sisters!

Ya I hear the extra lead guitar track occasionally in both songs as well. They add vocal and guitar tracks quite a bit to help fill in the sound. As for favorite bass line from them, I'm going to have to go with Disciple.

"Hunter" is Monica's favorite from QOTMS. Always love Ale's bass work. I like how their instruments weave in and out together. At times they are all doing something separate from one another then they come together and go back apart then finish together.
