You can, yes. The collar should give your dog a warning beep when it is getting close to the wire, without an actual shock. After my dogs were trained, they stayed about 10 ft inside the actual wire perimeter. This is good but keep in mind it will also shrink the yard-space about inside of where you bury the wire.

We are in the same boat and just had our patched fence destroyed by hurricane Ian. Our pair of sisters got out and ran for almost 2 hours before I found them 1/2 mile from our house and about 400' from a major road. They were still running away from home when I found them. This is our only hope until the insurance cuts a check. Just wondering what luck you had, hope it's going great!

My lab bolted once and went thru. Once thru she could not come back thru. We had to rescue her. She never did it again!

To be honest It is the only kind I have used. However, Wireless can work as well but they are not as customizable as an in-ground fence so it will depend on your property layout and what you want the borders to be. It's never 100 percent.. Some dogs that may work beautifully other dogs make it shocked and keep running and not even care

Still a good system for many many dogs but dogs that are persistent on trying to escape the system I would recommend the more expensive one. Roughly 2,800. It includes lifetime warranty on everything, the training of the animal, no matter how many trainings it takes, and access to our amazing customer service reps. No hidden cost. Only extra cost would be if someone breaks the line and we have to repair it that will cost under 150. Obviously I am biased but family members and friends of mine have purchased the system and love it. We are proud of our product and love doing what we do. Steban Mendez I would have to respectfully disagree and I know many of our customers would disagree also. We do very large properties and if they were to build a cedar fence it would cost between $20-40,000. Even small fences cost thousands.

Scott Schaefer Dogwatch is the best system lifetime warranty on all equipment 2 year battery life (3 month for a microlite)the pet gets a warning before a correction,oh yea about $500 cheaper as well

It works for my beagle, she never gets out unless the fence is down. A physical fence is certainly ideal, but not something attainable for me sadly.

Unless you have acres of property -- I agree build a fence. I tire of walking my dog and morons let out their untrained "rescue" dog that runs right through their electric fence and attacks my dog. If your dogs jump your fence -- they need training. The humane society should not let people adopt dogs that do not have fences.

Because thats compatible lmao. Some people.. I have in fact tried a shock collar and it's not painful. It's surprising. I recommend you try one though. Maybe it will help you with the levels of cringe you're experiencing.

So is them getting hit by a car because he/she dug yet another hole or-if they are like my dog-quick as lightening and always low key watching/listening for someone to get distracted walking out the door-and made their escape-again.

Tried it and it was not as strong as a TENS machine for therapy on people. Learn before you post. You are just guessing about how it works. You are not putting straight 120 power to the animal. The tickle level is a shock. Or surprise or oh heck what was that, is scary. I wonder if you would rather the shock be a car hitting the animal better.
