One of the big reasons EBT exists, is because someone who consistently has no income and can't eat, would become a danger to society. They should remember this...
in tersting you mean door dash was allowed for food thats extra fees and its prepared food so how was that allowed unless it was in covid 19 and why wasnt the people needing the money for food
I agree, however some elderly and disabled people require a designated proxy to use, buy groceries for a person. Those forms are available at one's local Medicaid office.
People know if they buy food or not and they are very important to my family so we can eat so this would make me mad if someone used them for other than food and caused people to lose their benefits. Come on people you know what is food and what is not !!! Spend them wisely!!!!😢
Thank you for that information, you would think that people would know not to mess with their stamps. I can't see buying non-eligible items and not having enough food to feed your family. I guess that's a hard lesson to learn.❤
EBT excludes food "made for you", no no no that's being spoiled. Poor people have to cook their own dinner, that's just how it is. Folks, be sure you are getting the right amount of Expenses deducted from your Income before they calculate your EBT. Don't forget car, home or renter insurance, medical bills, utilities, tuition, etc. Expenses you always have that stay roughly the same month to month. And, be sure to use a store loyalty card, coupons, etc to bring your total cost down and stretch your EBT further. Don't just buy name-brand everything because "the government's paying for it".
Are they accurately deducting your living expenses from your income? You should maybe look at your mail- my annual explanation of how they calculate numbers shows the list of my expenses. Don't forget things like car, home, or renter insurance, utilities, school expenses, etc. You can ask to have your numbers re-calculated, you should be getting lots more! Hope you got the bonus!🎉
On three separate occasions move been approached in grocery with a proposal of letting them pay for my groceries I simply say no I don’t do that, I’m wondering why they chose me is it a compliment I don’t understand…
When I worked at Wally, I asked a boss about the number of returns at the end of the month of food products. He had never thought about customers getting gift cards that could be used for anything in the store. Policy change ASAP. Receipt required for refund and refund goes back to original purchase method. No receipt, exchange for food items only. No more gift cards.
Duh, Walmart! Down here where, I lived in Indiana when, Wal-Mart opened in the mid 90’s The younger generation called it Wally World, my grandma just thought that was the oddest thing like a Dept Store was like Disneyland or a Amusement Park! But, it was where all the young folks wanted to go because, the town no longer had no place for them to socialize, that’s the biggest reason she thought they called it that! It was the only place for them to get their excitement in the area!
I have never ever seen or heard of people using ebt for anything besides FOOD NOT EVEN COFFEE CAN BE USED WIth ebt something is fishy almost like Intended for this reason wtf I buy food for 3 and I get 250.00 for 3 humans add that up it's 3 bucks a day SMH
You can too get coffee, off the shelf, not in a cup. Just like you can get crap like Red Bull. Any beverage off a shelf is allowed as long as it's non-alcoholic. I buy whole bean coffee just fine with EBT at Trader Joe's.@@Nicole-dj3jf

I can see how this could accidentally happen.If a person has a variety of items and the card normally declines non-eligible items . If a person would even consider using a snap card for food delivery they don’t need snap benefits.
A 22 year old "mom" in my apartment building receceived 3 warnings about improperly using her EBT card, she has permanently lost it, all government funding, her apartment and her 3 year old little girl and 6 month old precious little boy permanently. She was very entitled and told me that nothing would ever happen to her. Guess she was wrong.
@@PrimateProductions without EBT or WIC benefits or TANF she wouldn't be able to feed her kids. So yes, in the State I live in, it is enough to lose your children. She also refused and wasn't required to seek employment since her children are under 6 years old.
Thank you for sharing this information with us. Sometimes walmart and Amazon have glitches and your able to buy dog food with ebt. Also that spice rack is very nice but I can't spend $80 on spices, I don't even have enough to last my family the whole month.
Ask for an Amazon gift card from a friend or relative next time they ask what you need or want. Then you can tell & show them how much your gift helped your family for years ahead.

A few years ago, my local small neighborhood grocery store would constantly ring up paper products and things like that on my EBT card and charge them as food along with my food purchases. Every week, I would tell them they could not add my newspaper to my EBT. card. The manager would get so mad, but they kept doing it. I finally had to stop buying from them. They also sold me a gallon of sour milk and one time - for baking purposes - I bought a six-pack of beer (I don't drink at all but I needed it for a recipe - really) and one of the bottles was capped but completely empty and they refused to refund my money. I just wonder how many other places are so flagrantly breaking the rules. I see now that I should have reported them for my own protection. Thanks for all the info!
@@PrimateProductions I was experimenting with beer batter and breads and was trying several different things. I ended up with two left over bottles and gave them to my neighbor's grandson.
@linbat6148 When purchasing "mixed" items, set them down separately. Then have each set rung up separately. And paid for separately. I do this with my medical OTC and pet supplies that I use for my SNAP deductions. That way I have separate receipts to hand into the SNAP Financial Worker and the receipts are nice and tidy. No hassles for the Worker to fumble through trying to find the correct items!
i have food stamps and gor effing 15$ yet i NEVER did any this crap, i use it to buy food not some random crap i dont need like this, i thught this was some archic crap they are looking for, no instead just like its COMMON SENSE what means when need food vs just exploiting! no wonder i dont get but 15$ stamps i dont even bother to activate!!!!!!!!!!!

*I was at a Whole Foods in DC. I tried to buy tea bags by a brand called Pukka and milk that came in glass bottles. They said I couldn't use my EBT card. That tripped me out. At Wawa, you can get cold hoagies and cooked food that is refrigerated with your EBT card. This program gets more and more interesting.*
Jumping through hoops to get and keep the EBT card. I had it for about a year. What got me was twice when I went into my corner store, and the cashier was the same one who I saw in the nearby church pantry for once a month food. I gave my stuff and she said “you can’t get that on the EBT card.” I said I don’t have it anymore! I don’t need it! Second time I went in she said the same and I got mad. I can forgive that she didn’t remember me, but I asked “What makes you think I’m on the food stamp card!” She stared at me speechless. Then I reminded her that a week before she challenged me and I told her I’m no longer on it. Only needed it for a year and I starved for three months waiting to be approved! I almost died! Having the EBT card is as humiliating as going to a food pantry once a month which I did for a year. The one I went to never bothered to remember who you were, asked the same stupid questions then followed me around like I was a toddler! I don’t need to be babysat shopping for food. I refuse to EBT or food pantry anymore and being treated like a toddler. It’s bad enough you have to jump through hoops to even GET the card let alone keep it! The screw ups aren’t everyone.
what if you buy both food and non food items, expecting SNAP to only cover the food, but also have a credit card for the non food, but the system just charges it all to SNAP through no fault of your own. if its only say 2 out of 10 non food items, you might not realize it happened.
Had this happen twice, no one said anything, and I made sure after that I double checked when buying those items again. If I ever get called out I'll happily pay that extra $7 back
You have to buy it separately. I put all my "non-food" items either first or last. For example I'm buying food for myself and my cats. I put all their tins at the front and pay for it. Then I scan my food and pay for it with my EBT.

Wouldn't be a big loss, considering they're less than $50 for most ppl. And that's if the incompetent, lazy, corrupt case worker doesn't try to"recertify" you then deny they received your recertification every other mth when it's supposed to be every 6-12 MONTHS!
@margaret Of course you can send someone with your shopping list and your EBT card! Even better if you have a written list, shows that your shopper isn't choosing things for themselves. As someone who has been Disabled for over 20 years but has had the advantage of knowing much about the inner workings of Government programs since I was 18 because of my going to college on Survivor Benefits and living in HUD housing then, and my Career in Long Term Care, it never hurts to get ALL the bits and pieces of information. I too have read many documents online for my own need on my state's websites. Its the only way to really understand the information.
Me and my husband are seniors..it hard to buy food for a month..the prices are so higjh, dozen of eggs over $3, bread $2..we need more Snap or lower prices.
In Commiefornia the homeless & drug addicts get max benefits ($281) AND routinely sell and trade ebt benefits without any repercussions.. Open & notorious. Meanwhile a senior gets $16-23.

Here us a tip. We put Mom's food on the belt first, pay for it with her EBT card. Then we put her non food items up and pay for those. We mostly do this because she has dementia and it helps her keep track of what she spent.

At times, it seems like they don’t give us enough to get by as far as Snap benefits go, but then they take them away from you for no valid reason and then you realize how much you actually struggle without them. Be very careful people because you can make a simple mistake, and sometimes things cannot even be your fault and they will still strip your benefits from you.
I have had my SNAP BENEFITS stolen 3 times now. Once before i could even us any but the last three times I have at least been able to use some of them...but the rest stolen. And they say they only replace them twice so i am terrified that they will deny repayment this 3rd time and ill be stuck with no food for kids. These jerks spend the money at Walmart and Sams club in store and online. Their answer has been a third party app called EBT EDGE which has so many red flags to me but they say to turn off and on your card when your not using it. I cant remember that plus if you get kicked out its terrible to get back in....if you can even get an account set up at all. I am in CA Vacaville to be exact. Is there a way we can sue the county since this is a data breach right??

Not sure how these people were able to feed the ones in need considering ebt doesn’t typically cover the cost of food for the entire month. Unless the child is very young then I can see them having extra 🤔
