based on what I read from a post made by the director/writer hired by Lilith basically he worked on this along with another director and film studio from Ukraine, these guys know nothing of game making they just made a short film with the context given🤣so it’s gonna have nothing to do with the actual gameplay. But I can tell the director takes his work seriously, the amount of details that went into this was pretty impressive, from the symbolism to the props to the music and all (they incorporated the rhythmic patterns of morse code in the soundtrack even lmao), and it actually has a somewhat coherent storyline for the two soldiers and their officers and the war in general (like for example how the German soldier starts off looking all light-hearted and innocent, then gradually loses such mentality having witness all the horror and as Germany begins to lose its ground; while for the Soviet guy is kinda the opposite where he mostly feels scared and helpless in the beginning when his country comes under attack, but becomes stronger and more determined later on as the table turns. In the last battle scene both arrive at a similar mental state, cold and numb and perhaps a bit mad, and as the director puts it, the two have walked vastly different paths with starting points that’re miles apart, but ended up in the same place and sharing a same fate. And for what? There’s also a plot that’s left out due to time constraint which I really like, the son of the German officer being killed in the scene where his fleet’s intercepted by US aircrafts, while sitting in the very same type of bomber that his father’s holding as a toy model in that picture where he’s still a kid (or it could just be himself in the pic, this wasn’t specified And honestly I think the director’s just using an alternate platform to create what he’s passionate about, when being asked many times that he should try to do some real films instead of working for a gaming company, he said given the current environment (in China) it’s much easier to create what he actually wants to in this kind of format as it gives him way more artistic freedom basically; which I think is great🤣the game’s trash but at least we got one good thing out of it and that’s better than most of the times lol
Thanks for the extra info, and totally agree! I like to think of this as an artistically brilliant short film that just happened to be funded by a mediocre mobile gaming company.
"Let there always be the sun" - a song by Arkady Ostrovsky (Arkady Ilyich Ostrovsky (February 25, 1914, Syzran, Simbirsk province - September 18, 1967, Sochi, Krasnodar Territory)-Soviet composer-songwriter.) to the words of Lev Oshanin. It was first performed in July 1962 in the All-Union radio program "Good Morning!" by Maya Kristalinskaya. History of creation The poet L. Oshanin wrote the words to the song when he accidentally saw a poster of Nikolai Charukhin "Let there always be sun...".Artist N. Charukhin wrote this poster under the impression of the quatrain of Kostya Barannikov, who has just been explained what "always" is: Let there always be sun, May there always be a sky, May there always be a mother, May it always be me.
I love how you compared it to War Thunder. War Thunder was a Russian victory epic, one of the people who worked on it even said they wanted to make the Germans feel like robots, whilst here both sides are equally represented and show the sadness at the end of all the fighting.
This is an example of a wonderful mobile trailer that really hypes you up to play something that is similar in design to the gritty and deep depiction shown only for it to be some sort of farmville clone or something
I love how they was all talkative, then as the video progressed, they got more and more invested.. faces say it all lol that was me when I first seen this months back
05:08 I think actually that's a photo of the German General's son, which is on the bomber that shot down. I watch/read it somewhere the director said so, but those parts got cut from final product. That also explain why the general was so angry later to send all troop to close combat. I believe the USSR general have a grud as well with the scene (maybe) he holding 2 girls with anger before this.
Actually I feel like I read somewhere that the director originally did intend that to be the nazi officer’s son, and that his son was supposed to be killed during the air intercept by American forces. But they cut it for time. (Notice the young boy holding up a model bomber in the photo.)
I agree. It's a really hood game, but if DID get overhyped. I do think that a lot pf people would think of it differently if it was on pc, because people would claim that it's "a retro style game".
Not only was this actually a really good trailer for a mobile app, but it even got heavy with a bitter anti-war rhetoric. Not many war game trailers go with that theme.
On 4:41 you can see the letter in triangle form. It was Soviet Union "funeral letters", what informs relatives about death in action. Thats why mother cried.
It not like I want to defend the developer, but do you play the game? this is the game I play in android with no matter you are a whale or not it gives you a chance to become superior, what you need it's a joint a good alliance.
@@donaldaryantotambunan3338 its a terrible game, end of story if you don't like my opinion then move on, also yes I have played the game and many games similar to it, all terrible cash grabs under the guise as free games only to include microtransactions to aid with progression, in other words its pay to win, and most if not all pay to win games are terrible, also your point being you need more friends/allies in order to win? Like that's pretty dumb its like your saying you should get friends or pay us cash if you wanna win, like that's such a terrible 2 tone play style absolute lack of variety which proves my point further that it is indeed a terrible game
That moment on 7:08 is actually inspired on a very know foto on the Soviet union (called Kombat (battalion commander))that a mear instants shared the same fate than in the trailer Also gotta love the dp28 wielding soviet engineer with the lobster armor
Thanks so much for reacting to this one! I was just as amazed as you guys when I watched this for the first time 😂 Sadly this is just for a mobile RTS game, nothing new or exciting at all.
@@Fiddleshtick I know, which is funny, hifl I've even played the game for a short time, and it didn't go so well for the last days I played Chinese plays ruin online games because of the massive discounts they get for in game items
