Warrants sought for Israeli, Hamas leaders over alleged war crimes in Gaza

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court said Monday he is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in connection with their actions during the seven-month war.
Karim Khan said that he believes Netanyahu, his defense minister Yoav Gallant and three Hamas leaders - Yehya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif and Ismail Haniyeh - are responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip and Israel.

According to Ayn Rand A government is not an independent entity.People are responsible for the government they have so there is no innocent people in war. The only thing to be concerned with is who started that war and once established there is no such thing as considerations for the rights of that country because it has initiated the use of force and therefore stepped outside of the principle of rights.

If they’re targeting deliberately that would still be a crime. But going after Hamas and there being collateral damage wouldn’t. I’m sure there are individual instances of bad actors in the military, but obviously they’re just being careless more than a strategy targeted at civilians. Any morals aside - this would just be a terrible plan given they would permanently lose powerful allies. The court would also have to see specific actions that are systematic. A vague claim that they are targeting, or a total death toll mean nothing - since obviously there are death tolls in any war. (And while you may think they should be conducting themselves differently - they are in a war, declared on them by another nation. Maybe there should be fewer, but there will be significant casualties) These laws also aren’t really enforceable. I believe there’s an arrest warrant out for Putin - for the systematic kidnapping of children but it’s not like anyone’s going to arrest him

What did Israel do. HAMAS did the crime. If HAMAS was using palestinians as victims then where is the crime. Shouldn't HAG first ask for investigation of and reasons for why Israel killed civilians, or were they HAMAS operatives or forced their by HAMAS. That should've been the first statement. Who is HAG supporting

The reality is both sides have allegedly committed war crimes and both sides are beginning to be held accountable. No one regardless of race, religion, or allies should be held to a lesser standard than everyone else. These arrest warrants are to facilitate in ongoing investigations and trials into the alleged crimes and allow justice to be done on an international level. If you stand so firmly with EITHER side as to think committing war crimes is an acceptable action, I urge you to step back and reflect on just what you are defending.
