From 1988 to now, Coke increases around 2000-2100% excluding dividend, Pepsi increases 2600-2800% excluding dividend. Moreover, Pepsi gives better dividend yields than Coca Cola in2023 for 3%. If we include dividend yields for 35 years, total return of Pepsi should be 2,900-3200% which is better than Coca Cola

Diabetes vs Diabetes and the winner is DIabetes
@barakomamba

Sugar doesn't cause diabetes. In fact, diabetes itself isn't a cause but a symptom. And it's a symptom of insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is where sugar can't enter the cells due to poor mitochondrial function caused by excess fat so it's left floating around in the bloodstream which leads to chronically high blood sugar = diabetes. So excess fat, especially polyunsaturated fat from things like seed oils, causes diabetes not sugar.

When I was young in late 90s, pepsi used to have all the famous celebrities and cricket icons and demolish coke in all ads between overs in a cricket match. At that time, I wished in a parallel universe were coke was dominant . Guess a parallel reality did exist in the investing world.

That was true everywhere. Maybe 20+ years ago, singer Britney Spears, who was at her height of fame, was also among the people pitching Pepsi.. until she was busted at the beach for having a (diet) Coke. Michael Jackson in the 80s was even more famous for getting tied with Pepsi. Even if their pyrotechnics accident helped mess him up. PS The stock of PepsiCo also performed pretty well and it is possible a Buffett Bump was the only variable that decided who would be the better investment. I've never owned either stock, as it seems like yesterday's battles. (Even if Buffett shrugs railroads likely will be used 500 years from now.)

@@davidglad Buffet sees the business not the stock returns. Coke has two things that Pepsi doesn't. 1. Pepsi paradox - Pepsi's sweeter taste is not suitable to consume in large volume, but coke can be consumed in large volume. 2. Brand identity - If I give you two cars with exactly the same engine configuration but one has Honda logo and the other has the BMW logo. Which one would you prefer. People associate their identities with the brands they use. Retail investors look at the CHART, Buffet looks at the MOAT.

KO should have been sold by BRK in 2007 when it's PE reached 60. Buffett knows this.... he just does not want to pay the tax on it's sale and it clouds his judgement.
