Man the story is so interesting with so many players in it Hop Wei, Long Zi, SF Police, Irish, and the new addition Fung Hai. and so many plots moving together including dynamics between different characters is so cool. Please never cancel this show. I found it far better than peaky blinders.

One of the realest things I've heard in a long time. It has actually stuck with me too. Now I think about it whenever I injure myself, even mildly with something like, a paper cut. Makes me stop being overdramatic about how much it hurts lol
or what penny will do when she finds the dead corpses of the hop wei, even after she ended the deal with ah sahm, i expect that she will discover about the opium contraband because of it
Both are not equally immoral, though.. And.. Absence/Lack of impulse-control aka "crime of passion" does not serve as "mitigating factor" for her bratty sister's with zinger-of-a-buttersmooth-tongue's deed, " @@Jose-ir2fl" . It was more than clear that in a way to prove something to Penny after the truth-bombs she righteously laid on her for "virtue signalling" sanctimony at possibly the most-wrong time and place - she did the exact opposite. She took the easy way of "burn the whole mother down!" and worse, she ended-up bearing her guardian/older-sister out more profoundly than she very-accurately chastised her for. Remember her reaction to Irish-American fundamentalist Leary in the very 1st episode, when Penny conveyed the proposal of Leary?( Hours before he went on full fucking terrorist and started blowing-up factories with sleeping workers charred alive with their prolonged misery of getting killed.) And 3 episodes later, here we have her boinking Leary but a convenience of not even bothering to learn the Chinese side of the story - nevermind her sister's vary capitalist/rational response over her half-baked insight propelled _argumentum as hominem_ and _argumentum ad odium._ Discerned the pattern there? She is, in essence, a keyboard-warrior of today's RL day-&-age - except that unlike most of the former, she can't stay "pseudonymous". And needless to add: Her reaction to the bloodbath was a not-so-subtle confirmation that: A) She didn't think the whole thing true. B) Why world she? When her guardian has laid relatively measured of her, none of which she could refute and no, regurgitating the very same thing with multiple rephrasing is not even remotely-synonymous to ‘rebuttal’. C) _Ergo,_ it was all but a care for the Irish-American labour given her fickle _persona_ - at least very prominently. She was only thinking about herself, to put it bluntly. To wit, she wanted to carry out vendetta against her one-&-only rock for years-&-years - which she did get successful in, but not at a very-affordable/-nothingburger cost.
Zing vs Li Yong. The battle we've been always waiting for. Hope Zing won't die this early, he was a good villain. But I'm afraid he can hardly make it out since it seems like the Fung Hai is being targeted by both the police and Long Zi.
this show is so mf good man, i mean, the previous chapter at the end when they took the raid of fung hai it was so intense and i was so anxious, it's been some time since i've felt that way with a series, same happened with the boys but this story telling is fantastic, the time it takes place it's unique and their characters are so well developed, don't cancel this gem, this is the peak of high quality content, sad it is so underrated
Is there nobody talking about this series? No episode recaps? No trailer breakdowns? Nothing? Very disappointing for such a great series. And I'm not talking about the featurettes.
I didn't think the Irish were just as racist to the Chinese like the Americans were back in the 1800's. Also Penny's sister such a spoilt rotten princess who regrets helping Leary. Things are totally heating up in the next episode, I bet the re-match between Ah-Sahm and Leary will happen in the season finale.
I think there were more Chinese on the West Coast back then, but I might be mistaken. East Coast-see also Gangs of New York. While it'd be too cliche, it would be hysterical if there was a moment when Ah-Sahm and Leary had to fight together. More likely would be Ah-Sahm and Li-Yong fighting side by side.

I just discovered this show and I love it. Also, I'm very sorry, but I bring bad luck. The chances - now that I watch and love this - that it will be cancelled soon are big. That being said, why the hell is nobody talking about this show? Plot, characters, setting, fights, ... It is so well done. Truly. And on a diversity level; this has more asian characters that 99% of the shows out there, also the women are amazing, all very different but strong in their own way. WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS SHOW?! This makes no sense.
Ummmm... Why are the Chinese speaking perfect English with an American accent? If the that made this show bothered to do any research you'd know that they're supposed to be immigrants who spoke to each other in Chinese and when they did speak English to the natives it would be very limited and broken and of course accented. But instead we get this... thanks for tarnishing our peoples history. Hopefully some talented director will eventually make a realistic adaptation of this history!
In-universe they are speaking Chinese to each other. Some of the Asian actors aren't Chinese or fluent in mandarin/cantonese. Outside of extras I imagine it would be a nightmare trying to get the entire Asian cast to sound authentic. That's why Wang Chao, Ah Toy, etc. has an accent whenever they're speaking to a westerner in the show.
To make it more watchable... Have u even watched the series.. No ones going to watch a series of people speaking in broken English... They also address the voice thing in the first episode
I know the writers had to cram multiple plots for Season 2 since Cinemax shitcanned original programming and "Warrior" is more than likely gone forever after this season, but it has become more of an ensemble series rather than focusing on Ah Sahm- I've tuned out when it's Little Lolita Mercer/Leery Romance, Brain-Damaged Officer Lee, Big Bill the Cop and his 20 kids, Chao and his kid, the do-gooder white lady, more political machinations with the Peg-leg guy, Mayor Snidley Whiplash, blah, blah, blah - I don't give a shit about Leery's romantic life or the charity civil rights activist- The Mexican Lady fight promoter and the Homo Hop Wey guy are good additions but not enough scenes with them...only 6 episodes left, get going on the plot and action for God's Sake!

I like sex scenes with hot babes as much as the next guy, but the sex scenes/romance waste too much time, younger Mercer sister is cute but is an annoying bitch. If Warrior was renewed for a Season 3, I'd be more patient- still annoyed with all useless bullshit- but I'd tolerate the screen filler crap because we'd have another season of this original, kick-ass series.
The third-act of the episode this OAP followed over the sibling tension might have come across as "trite", but it was setup very realistically. And of course, by the end - the troublemaker had to bear the Penny( subtle pun accidentally intended) out. In other words, the former is no less than a fucking cunt( yep, not just “bitch” in-spite-of-numerous-"F-words"-but-nary-a-"C word" à la Paramount® Global's "The Kings") - as was predictably the case not just from preceding-episode about her "oh-so-mature" zinger about Irish-American fundamentalist mobster Leary before even getting to know him: And now.. Without knowing the Chinese side-of-the-story, she went all the "burn the mother down" simply 'cus she had to hear as a counter to what she didn't want to hear, but was needed to since long enough time. The act was full of heart, and one of the reasons why I got, to put it in a simplistic/trite way, hooked to series. And not "play a video-game brought to you by Bruce Lee® Entertainment", one of the surpassed speciality of this network.
