Welcome back to another walking stick carving. In this video, I carved a warrior walking stick wood spirit. Beautiful wood spirit on top, a paracord wrap and chip carved a dragon scale pattern just below the handle. Finished with a Watco Teak Oil and Minwax Paste wax. Hope you enjoy it and please hit the thumbs up and if you enjoyed it, Subscribe to my channel for more builds.

Would like to recommend you get yourself some Kevlar gloves. You’re doing some great work you need to protect those tendons in your hands! Just a thought. Lovely work. Take care.

great tip... I'll look into those, any recommendations for brand or type?

@@JasonHedrich I’ll be honest I just found something with good reviews on Amazon years ago! Saw a guy in US doing knife reviews and he had slipped and made a tiny cut in his finger but it sliced the tendon. Many thousands of dollars to fix! Take care.

I have a thought, if you were to make a channel for the vertical cord before wrapping, it may eliminate the 'bulge'
@JasonHedrich
@JasonHedrich 2 года назад
That's an excellent idea and would probably help making the wrap at the beginning when everything wants to rotate around. Great idea, I'll see about adding it the next time I do a paracord wrap.

Should have gone down the stick at least another 10-12 inches with the design of the dragons scales?

Hi great job what kind of wood is this and have you considered using whittling knives and definitely safety gloves just found you on y tube
@JasonHedrich
@JasonHedrich 2 года назад
Thank alot! Not sure what type of wood it is, maybe ash... it was harder than some of the other sticks I've made but seeing I find them when they are down in the forest, sometimes I can't identify the type of wood it is. Its a bit heavier as well which lets me believe its ash. Thanks for watching

And yes, in a few of my other video builds I’ve done the carvings entirely using Flexcut knifes. Hope you get to see those as well

Good day. What is the draw knife you are using at 2:08 minutes into the video? Can you recommend and draw knife for removing bark or shaping your carving sticks?
@JasonHedrich
@JasonHedrich Год назад
Yes, it's a drawknife... A very old model, couldn't tell you the make of it. It is extremely useful for removing bark from sticks and logs. Great for fast stock removal

Hi there, can you tell me please what diameter is the paracord that you used.. Thanks.
@JasonHedrich
@JasonHedrich 3 года назад
Hi, the paracord is either 1/8" or 3/16"... I can usually find it in 50ft lengths at the local big box store

Its called a Microplane... actually its used often in the food prep as a zester or grater. Found it on Amazon

@@atwowhlr6805 mine came without a handle, so I made the u-shaped piece myself from a piece of cedar and attached it with screws.
