Golden State Warriors President and General Manager Bob Myers has decided to step down after 11 years with the team. Myers was Executive of the Year twice and won four titles during his time with the team. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss whether this is another indication that the Warriors dynasty is ending or not.

The organization offered a deal to him that would have made him the highest GM in all of sports. Bob Myers told people close to him that if he left, that it would be to spend more time with his family and pursue other business interests outside of basketball. This had nothing to do with the players or the Warriors as an organization. The only reason he considered not leaving was because of Kerr, Steph, Draymond, klay, and Joe Lacob. He loves these guys

Guarantee he's going to be back in the NBA next year with another team with an ownership stake. Klay is in the last year of his deal and will want a max, Dray has a player option and he's already states he wants a max. He knows there are so many problems with their roster and salary cap and he didn't want to spoil his relationships by making the hard decisions and negations with the people he "loves".

The real reason Bob left is because he cannot be a good loyal friend to Klay and Draymond, and a good loyal employee/friend to Lacob. What’s best for the Warriors is to low-ball Klay and Draymond in their contract extensions or trade them, but that would make him a bad friend to his boys. He can’t do that. Relationship building is his thing, and he can’t make that hard, but correct move for the team, without seriously jeopardizing those relationships.

Bob did a great job with the Warriors and now he just wants to focus on himself and his family. This might signal the end of the Warriors dynasty, but he was the one who helped start it

buy back wiseman. Get rid of Poole…. wemby is here, Giannis, Jokic, Joel, we saw the trouble AD gave us…. this is a specialized big man’s era. We thought we could create depth but over paid for poole when he can’t offer 2/3s of stephs abilities nor a tenth of stephs attitude and character… we made a mistake. We need something like a Bam from the heat, andrew wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, etc. we need two way players and solid 40%+ 3 guards. We revolutionized this league to squeeze value out of the three and everyone is upscaling in size to bother us. Pieces like mike brown left and implemented our systems elsewhere. we are no long special or different…. what made us different is that we did predictable things but we had the greatest and second greatest shooter in their primes who made the shots go in regardless if defenders anticipated it…but i think golden states next super star has to be larger because you cannot win without a super star in this league. Our super star steph is gone in two to three years and in two years he’ll be playing 25ish minutes just to chuck threes

I do agree that it usually makes no sense when someone is rich and/or successful, but I would assume it's very stressful and time-consuming, and he probably wanted to be able to enjoy his life more and spend more time with his family. Alot of people forget how much work alot of these people (athletes, actors, owners, etc...) put in, and they aren't robotic and supposed to work 24/7 for years and years on end. That's extremely taxing.

Bob Myers looked burned out and over worked. He loved the players. As a dubs fan I got the feeling he was tired of Lacob and pressured to trade the core players. Doing so wasn't worth more money or damaging the relationships built so he stepped down.

I think they will be fine in the long run. They are a great organization with a ton of talent . One of the two big players it will probably be clay will have to take somewhat of a hometown discount. They might even trade poole at some point which regarding his attitude on the team and everything wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. If he wouldn’t have stunk it up in the playoffs, I would say keep him and try to work it out but he just seems super selfish and not about the warrior way. I think they get at least one more title before they all hang it up though. Curry was as great as ever and I have a feeling they will find a way to run it back with everybody.
