I agree, your ears are broken or you're dead inside if you don't like Aurora. It's impossible not to love her. She's fabulous. You have so many more amazing songs to hear.
@@SweenyTV Nice honest reaction. As with all art, meaning lies in the heart of the audience. What I get from this song isn't mere acceptance, but joy from all the differences between us all.
The prevailing story is that this is Aurora's response to conversion therapy trying to "Cure" persons in the LGBTQ spectrum - something close to her heart since she is quite public about herself being bi. The heartfelt quality of your reactions is warm and honest - good work.
I agree. Everyone can interpret a song her/his way but one would be doing the song and Aurora an injustice to ignore the subject matter she intended. That's no complaint, just a general comment.
We need reactions to these songs by AURORA: Queendom The Seed Running With The Wolves Runaway Winter bird It Happened Quiet Under Stars ...basically all of her music lol
I'm Norwegian and live not far away from where Aurora grew up, and I just happened to get to know her music a few weeks ago. It's amazing music, and how she's dancing and expressing the music like that, she's a natural talent, like an spring apple-bloom existing between the snow-peaked mountains, and the warming fjord waters below, in the spring where the sun cannot be ignored anymore... *SIGH*'
I love your Aurora reactions please do more! Ohh there's so many great ones, they're all great haha. All is soft inside (live at KEXP) is an experience! It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current), God Is A Woman (Like A Version), Through The Eyes Of A Child, Daydreamer... watch one of her live streams too she is just adorable and magical 😍
Thank you! More Aurora will be coming....but the current request list is packed with new artists I haven't even heard of. Just wish I had more time to do reactions! Thanks again, @Girl Down Under. ✌
Never mind what she says in an interview except this. "I want my music to be interpreted, not just read what I said it was about. This is the way my music can live beyond me." Probably not verbatim, but this was the message of what she said :)
@@SweenyTV I sure did! Sometimes I think it's strange how she can still surprise me with new releases/performances, it sure says something about how unique she really is. I love discovering new songs from her, but also reactions from people like yourself :)
Nice reaction! This song is quite different than anything she’s released before, but as always it has a nice message. I suggest reacting next to Lucky live at Nidarosdomen.
You should try one of her live performances from Nidarosdomen Cathedral. All very breathtaking. Try "Through the eyes of a child", "Winter bird" or "Soft universe"
My request list has gotten beyond long at this point. I wish I was just a regular guy who watched YT videos like 7 months ago before I started my channel.
Just an extension to your interpretation that is not wrong. Aurora said the song does not represent the album. It is quite separate, but it joins the story of the whole album. Aurora herself finds the dance quite ugly in a beautiful way. 😁 The song in general goes against institutes that offer a so-called cure for homosexuality/bisexuality. In doing so, she directly affects the topic. And of course it should increase self-confidence and self-esteem for everyone who needs it. I think that she's also pointing the (middle)finger at her critics and against people who call others crazy or creepy or laugh at them just because they dress differently, have ticks or otherwise fall out of the norm. All movements that are otherwise involuntary with her, she makes here with full intention. Her wide open eyes, her hand movements, Shaking her head and her involuntary twitches. Everything is clearly highlighted with the camera in various separate settings. That didn't have to be so it was intentional. "I don't need a cure for me" Furthermore, Aurora is the only one without a mask. She is the one who shows her true self and does not hide. Everyone else wears one and seems to bury Aurora in the sequence in which she looks almost panicked into the camera. Which for me is an indication of bullying. She painted the masks herself and her sister made her outfit. It should also create a bridge to "Exist for love". I think the "Exist for love" reference at the very beginning (Aurora in the Crystal Ball on the Shell) had its reason. The song was also criticized. That wouldn't be Aurora and why is she singing such a song? Why only love between man and woman? And so on. The usual stupid talk. The apple is from the Garden of Eden (the forbidden fruit and sin) and Aurora likes to bite in.😁. Which brings us to the Christian faith and its views on what love between two people should look like. In addition, the apple could also be a reference to the sentence she once said in an interview. Why can't there be a wish inside an apple? Anything is possible if you believe in it. 😁 And by the way, the video is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The dance in corus and the visual. The sound in the chorus seems to be inspired by old video games. Aurora released a mini game shortly before, which also included exactly this sound. In general, there are many special details in the video that have meaning. The black and white floor on which she dances or the glued 7 and 9 angular stars in her face and on the floor. 7-star: 7 is a divine number and stands for the 7 chakras, 7 days or 7 sacraments etc. It also symbolizes perfection and connects spirit and matter in the universe. The seven star, also known as the heptagram, contains ancient knowledge and is considered a powerful protective symbol of the natural religions. People with the number 7 have a seventh sense and are farsighted and open to everything new. Or Aurora watched too much Game of Thrones. What she actually does. Then another explanation would be possible. 😁 9-star: The 9 gives us access to our inner and higher wisdom. The number nine symbolizes the power of creation, bliss and knowledge. In Buddhism, the nine is the highest spiritual power and the associated symbol is the nine star (enneagram), which is composed of a circle and triangles. People with the number 9 are warm, intelligent, wise counselors, and good listeners. A nine-pointed star also stands for perfection All features apply to Aurora
Great analysis Coyote. I love AuRoRa for the reasons that she is different, I am drawn to every move she makes, every face, and THAT voice!!! 3 songs in and I need to hear more but I can't yet....sucks sometimes being a reactor!
Great analysis Coyote! I would maybe add that i detect a homage to queens bohemian rapsody in the art of the video. It ties in to your analysis as well i think. And i would say its also a really polite way to say fuck you.
I just discovered Aurora a couple weeks ago and I'm kind of obsessed now :) love everything about this girl, she's amazing. You should compare the two versions of "the seed" next. Acoustic video and produced music video. Both are amazing but VERY different feeling.
I really enjoyed your reaction, and I find myself playing AURORA's new song/video over and over! I agree with most of the comments here about various recommended live performances by AURORA: songs from the incredible Nidarosdomen Concert (In a cathedral with orchestral ensemble and choir), songs from the high-energy 2018 KEXP Concert, and also from the HAIK Concert (performed in a forest), and others!
Your analysis, praise and enjoyment of this incredible song and the masterful artistry that she creates to share with us is impossible not to love. Great to see how you experience the music and it speaks to you and the superb visual details that enhance the emotional connection. I could definitely watch/listen a million times, and I am well on my way. Be well.
This song is also different then usual Aurora but hard to go wrong with Aurora music - all her song so far are so good. Of course it is important to interpret for yourself. Originally it is about society pressure on people who are not "standard". Society want to put them "in boxes" and fix/cure. Maybe you are have different skin color, or you are too emotional or no emotional, maybe you have different sexuality, maybe you are to shy etc. And no one need cure for himself. In particular it is also about "conversion therapy" and forcing some ppl to change how they was born. Thx for a reaction :).
I feel the dancing in this song is a little gentel kick in the leg to her "critics" that don't like her hand movements and interpretive dance moves.... In the Main dance it is very strickt with all dance the same, and her hands still.... Its like: This is want you want? In the beginning everyting is the same, in the end everybody dances with individuality 😀. I would recomend you to see Through the eyes of a child from Nidarosdomen concert.... I am 100% sure you will love it!
Wait you said shes cute?🥵 Ok never mind.. WHAT you said who else don't like Aurora, there ears are broken?🤨 Yea, agree even tho i'm a girl.. My favorite part is: ~BUT I NEVER ASKED FOR YOUR HELP~ ~YOU GOT HURT!~ ~NO, WE DON'T BELONG~ ~TOGETHER~ ~SO YOU TOOK THE LOVE~ ~FROM MY ARMS INTO THE~ ~ARMS OF YOURS~ `BUT I DON'T NEEDA CURE FOR ME~ *And started dancing* ~I DON'T NEED IT~ ~NO, I DON'T NEED A CURE FOR ME~ *Starts the dance again* ~I DON'T NEED IT~ ~NO, I DON'T NEEDA CURE FOR ME~ *And then she starts the whole song again*
I think this was about the human diversity, that she doesn't need a cure for how she is. Like how some people who have adhd or are autistic or what ever makes one different. A good one to listen would be "Runaway".
Aurora reactions coming soon... first will be A Temporary High from a previous request. I moved and am setting up my new YT recording studio. Waiting on lights
