Warsaw, Poland - the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw in Poland. Let's go to the beautiful Polish capital of Warsaw and let's take a quick view of the spectacular building the Palace of Culture and Science. The Palace of Culture and Science is the seat of various companies, public institutions, such as cinemas, theaters, libraries, sports clubs, universities, scientific institutions and authorities of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The Palace of Culture and Science was constructed in Warsaw in 1955, it was designed by Soviet architect Lev Rudnev in "Seven Sisters" style and was inspired by Polish historicism and American art deco high-rise buildings. The Palace of Culture and Science is the tallest building in Poland, the seventh tallest building in the European Union and in a Top-20 in the Europe. It is 237 metres (778 ft) tall, including the structural 43-metre high spire.

On the top of Palace of Culture and Science there's a beautiful landscape! You can see almost entire Warsaw! It's a pity, you didn't show it :( Video is even though great!

+M Catterfeld Unfortunately, I could not get to the top, the day I visited there was a special event taking place and I could not go beyond the area that I showed here.. I will be ging back one day soon and hopefully I can videotape everything with my new SONY...

@@VicStefanu Although i personally like this building as well (mostly because of the events held there) it is still for me and for many other people a symbol of the soviet occupation of Poland and a symbol of how they wanted to oppress us not only militarily but also by soviet architecture, culture etc. Like as if the nazis built a big swastika on top of the Eiffel-tower in Paris.

I agree with you, I like its architecture.. it is its origin and history that the Poles do not like..

@@VicStefanu When Rome became the Province of the Ostrogoths, the king Theodoric had the forward thinking to preserve its ancient monuments in spite of the political polemics against pagan Roman power. The last maintenance bricks installed in the Flavian Amphitheater (coliseum) were stamped during his administration. He died 50 years after the last emperor was deposed. From that period the monuments of Rome fell into disrepair, were quarried for repurpose, or their marbles were burnt to make lime for export. The inhabitants scorned and vandalized these ancient buildings, and judging by the surviving remains, like the Pantheon, its something of a tragedy that we lost so much simply due to the tide changes in power and politics. The Poles themselves were largely responsible for its construction. They should admire this fact at least.

+Oliwier EB Thanks Oliwier.. I must go back to Warsaw one day and videotape this magnificent building (I really like it) with my SONY camera.. This here is an older video of mine and was taped a couple of years ago during my experimentation phases with a terrible SAMSUNG camera..
