Thank you very much for this vid. I was totally lost with Target problems and i was about to give up BMS. I setup my TM directly in BMS as you show in your vid... and it works fine. Now, I'm back in the sky. Thanks to you ;)
UC, thanks alot for this video. I'm not a Warthog user, I have a X55 Rhino, but I'm an instructor pilot with my VFS (185th) and some of my students and fellow pilots use the warthog, so it's invaluable to help them with their setup! Thumbs up to you Sir!
Been loving your videos. I got into BMS only a few weeks ago. Tried living with a T.16000.M but I wasn't happy with it so I picked up the Warthog. Big $$$ but money well spent IMO. I've been away from flight sims for so long and was looking at DCS last year but a video on the huge difference between missle flight times and some prodding from a friend (who is currently touring NZ in a camper for three weeks) swayed me over the BMS.
Warthog is great... mine is still going strong without any fault. Also your friend did the right thing.... BMS is leaps ahead in terms of physics, modelling, dynamics and campaign..... dcs is pretty but thats it IMO. If I fly in DCS its for the helicopters.... best heli sim we have .... but for military jets... BMS tops the charts with no close runner up! Pleased your enjoying the vids :)
I am still using thr T.16000.M with great success. I had to improvise by using two of the hats on the throttle as DMS and CMS amd the single hat on the stick as TMS switchable to Trim via TARGET. It works well but i am saving cheddar for the next generation stick, maybe VKB?
Excellent job code. I just recently bought a wh for dcs a10c. There is a lot of diff from my x55 both in features and feel. Will take some getting used to. I have not setup bms in a while, but will use this as a guide when I do, thanks 👍🏼
Sweet... Had an X-55 before I had the Warthog too.... your going to love it the change once your arm and wrist get used to it lol.... quite the piece of kit :)
Unleashed Code yep I'm sure I will once I get used to it, but I have to say my x55 stick movement was smoother, and I am seeing a lot of users taking apart these things and sanding gimbals and such. I had hoped to avoid such work ;)
Really helpful stuff, UC! I've been thinking about coming away from DCS for BMS (at least until the F/A-18 comes out for DCS), but have been loathe to do it as I can't be arsed setting up the controller (lazy, I know!). This has inspired me to get BMS. Now...just need to learn how to fly a viper...
+Lorik Eolmin hahaha not a great deal of thought in my head space mate....maybe things like...hmmm wonder how much fuel my wingman has for this excursion from the flight plan. Rofl
Unleashed Code absolutely. Binge watching your content as others watch Game of Thrones. Really well done. And with this video I ll finally go throu the dreaded setup of my warthog. Thanks for your work.
A lot of good information, enlightening about no dead zones? Overall Great information, although I'm pretty much sold on the Thrustmaster 1600 but excellent points.
+Steven Clarke nahh..just use the one..the other I usually have as recording screen or maps....and then on my tablet I use as kneeboards....so flight plans....aerodrome charts...target data....etc...
Thanks for another great video. I am just getting into BMS, do you do any "Getting into ...." beginners stuff? For example, here is a guide to CCIP runs. Do you fly in a particular group? Cheers!
Good afternoon Unleashed Code: I have the old Thrustmaster Cougar, can I program it the same way you did with the Warthog? Thanks for any information or advice you can share.
Wow.... what a swift feedback. Much appreciated. I stopped flying bms a year ago due to rl requirements. I was on 4.32. do you happen to know if there are major differences to 4.33 for they bms keyfile? Are there any major advantages to switch to 4.33 ? Cheers Desmo
There were so many updates to 4.33 over 4.32 I wouldn't be able to list them. From Avionics to missile modelling to flight models, weather, atc, weapons systems, a ton of work went into 4.33. Head over to bmsforums.org for more info on that huge topic. Also, 4.33 U4 will be released in the coming week we are hoping which will once again add more changes and improvements to the best sim ever released. The keyfiles are pretty much the same but I would just start from fresh for complete compatibility.
I really like your set up and I just got my warthog but I'm having trouble getting it to work in bms. if I don't create a profile with the SMART software bms will only recognize my warthog as 2 separate controllers so I can only use one or the other in game. is there anyway for you to share your script / profile for us to use your setup? Thanks in advance.
Rave not using any script so nothing to share.... mine are seperate too. Only the TARGET software unifies them into one....which I am not using in BMS. Select your stick and in the advanced screen select throttle configs......just assign the axis like it asks and all will be well.
Unleashed Code I'm working on a profile using the SMART software so I can print out the diagram of each button on the stick and throttle. Thx for the help
Hello Code. How are u shutting down the engine? Throttle is at idle before the lever and lever is not recognised as an axis so basicly I cant shutdown my engine 😃
@@arabianjules Welcome back.... a lot has changed since FF6... when I say a lot.... mind blowingly huge amounts. Your going to be happy for years to come! See you in the skies
