But I do understand why so many people consider him to have had Growth Stunts in his career. Since high school he's been one of the top players in the country, but also since high school, he's been dealing with injuries that always kept him around 85% of his full potential. He still manage to become the top point guard prospect leaving high school. He chose UCLA over Kansas Georgia Tech and Duke. He had the unique combination of strength, size, speed athleticism and leadership qualities that made him the #3 overall pick even after suffering a torn ACL as a freshman. His NBA career didn't begin the way a 3rd pick should've, but by his second season he started to hone his skills and made the all star game by year 3. Also by then, his injuries started to pile up and become a regular storyline in his career, that never really stopped. Hip to ankle to knee, back, and more. But other than that he's had an admirable career that ended too soon. Here's why I don't think Baron Davis was a Bust. Stunted Growth.

This man was most definitely one of my favorites to watch play. Growth was definitely stunted by his injuries but his game itself was never a problem. Also, you reminded me of how under appreciated he is as one of the most athletic point guards of all time. The man was a beast after an acl injury with late 90s medical practices. 😳

@@jonjonbailey4314 tmac had one of the top 10 season by any player ever tho in 2003 in one of the thoughest eras of basketball because of the heavy defense and slow pace. And before injuries was 2nd in playoff ppg behind jordan even tho he didnt have much success. And bdiddy had honestly better teams than tmac at hornets and at gsw. Outside 2009 when tmac was pretty much done and yao ming was overrated as shit. In their playoffs together yao ming only averaged around 1 more rebound than tmac. Tmac is 6'9 at best and on the perimiter most of the time, yao should outrebound him especially in the playoffs. Either way i love both bdiddy and mac, but tmac is my boi, wasnt sure tmac would get into the HOF myself but the nba legends though he deserved it and thats enough for me.

Had size, athleticism, speed, strength, could shoot, and was an incredible passer and perimeter defender. No one seems to mention his handle, had a top 3 handle in his prime (maybe top 1). His handle with his off hand (left) was unstoppable. Would be one of the greats if not for injuries. Also I've seen many interview with him and he just seemed like a real down to earth, humble, and happy person. Definitely a teammate you'd want to have and run your team!

Baron was my favorite player of that generation, but dude didn’t take care of himself. Injuries don’t happen that often by accident. Dude didn’t train properly, nor watch his diet. I worked for the warriors in 2006-2007 and dude was always overweight. Knees and back are highly affected by too much weight. BD was a beast tho. Keeping his weight in check and having a more consistent J he would be HOF fasho.
@thestylemind4922
@thestylemind4922 3 месяца назад
He was never out of shape on the court. He’s mentioned it plenty of times, he has a body type that gains weight easily so in the off season, his body type will gain weight with no activity. That’s just genetics. How the hell do you never take care of your body yet always come back from knee injuries to be as explosive as he was? You can’t be that fast and that explosive and be out of shape. He was in shape in the big 3 yet he’s always out of shape. So I’m guessing since back and knees are affected by weight that he tore his ACL at UCLA because he was out of shape? Make it make sense?
