We respect him so much. I wish all the christians were just as nice and respectful as him😊 The relationship btw adnan and samuel should be an example to all of us. I just wanna say that a muslim can not hate a christian if we follow the quran
I am a Muslim and would say that Mr. Samuel is an excellent speaker, however, still he could not clarify the topic here. On the other hand, Mr. Adnan's speech and statements were more clear and logical. My respect for both the speakers.

Being a Muslim, I found that Samuel Green explains his point of view in a intellectually honest fashion. I think that Adnan Rashid had a lot of well-articulated arguments regarding the Bible
Samuel, in his first opening statement, didn't refer to anything from the Bible to support his position. On the contrary, he went on to disprove the Quran's point of view. I think it would have been better if he had quoted from the Bible to affirm his position as a believer in the crucifixion. I, as a muslim, do respect him as a public speaker and scholar even if he misrepresents or misinterprets my scripture. Just because he has a different point of view, doesn't mean I disrespect him.

Jesus did not teach people that he was God. If Jesus had been telling people that he was God, he would have complimented the man. John 10:29 "My father is greater than all." Jesus can not be God if God is greater than him. The Christian belief that the Father and son are equal is in direct contrast to the clear words from Jesus. 5. Everything is done concerning his life before the resurrection. That is, Jesus is telling us that everything is accomplished relative to his earthly mission. With the Crucifixion and the resurrection, yes it goes on to a second phase. Mark 10 32-34, Matthew 20 17-19 In these verses Jesus announces his Crucifixion and resurrection. End of speech. Then of course you can believe what you want.
You can also google but I suggest you read book of Romans first then you would understand Christianity more I think because reading Romans open my eyes to alot of things. I memorized Romans 12:1-2.

Jesus was heard not to die from spiritual death, the death of one who out of fear does not adhere obediently to God's plan for himself, whatever this plan may be. And Jesus was heard because his prayer gave him the strength to obey God's plan without rebelling and without withdrawing.
Totally agree with Adnan, there are too many conjectures from the bible as Adnan pointed out in his intro. Adnan also rightfully pointed out that there are no eye witnesses to the crucifixion hence till this day, we cannot be 100% sure regardless of what modern historians say. If we follow through literal sense of the quran verse, no doubt that Adnan's comments were far superior but I saw surprised to hear this metaphorical sense of quran verse that Dr Samuel Green spoke of which made sense as to letting the quran interpret itself and Adnan did not touch those points most likely due to lack of time.
The disciples after called the Apostles were witnesses there sying everything that took place, including his mother, marymadalen, marta, Lazarus who he resurrected, and Jesus brothers, they witnessed that all this took place in the Gospels of Jesus, no contradiction of the facts.

I noticed there are many debates on the Crucifixion but all from a strict theological perspective..Would you consider engaging in a respectful debate on the Crucifixion from a Historical perspective? Caren Beat it is deceitful to hold the belief that no eyewitness, the Roman army should be one, the mother of Jesus was looking at a distance. the ultimate view is that it only makes Allah a deceiver, who makes the crucifixion to appear to them so.

These are the scripture twisting that Muslims are quoting to try and make the death of Jesus as a thing that did not happen. But even atheists and historians agree that it happened. Secondly know that the Bible is not read as you read the quran ie one verse is complete in a chapter and can give the meaning
It doesn't explain the contradictions found in it. It's not scripture twisting like Christians do with the Bible to provide something that isn't there. Also, I've seen where many Atheists don't even think the Messiah (whose name wasn't Jesus) never existed, nor Muhammad for that Matt (peace be upon them both). We simply say he wasn't crucified or killed and Adnan presented a strong case.

@Amar Sahbi we know that quran was plagiarized and the living God can not give revelations from other sources so your so called "revelations" are human works and not inspired as you try to make it look. Remember that when you read quran carefully Muhammad in sura 2:136 & 285 says very well that God does not discriminate his own prophets yet in the shaada he is the only prophet, have you asked yourself why not other prophet mentioned in the shaada but only the pedophile

" Lead us not into temptation" creates a wrong impression that the Father has a habit of leading people into temptation. This wording was possibly due to the misinterpretation by translators from the original Greek or Hebrew text.Asking the Father to let us not fall into temptation is the right expression. In the early 1950's when Msgr. Menezes translated the New Testament into his native tongue Konkani ,which is widely spoken by Catholics and Hindus in the West Coast of India and which I too understand, he used the wording, " Ani amkan talnent podonk sodinaka" which translates as " And do not let us fall into temptation." My guess is Msgr. Menezes had clear grasp of the original text. We do not claim the Bible was dictated verbatim by God. We believe ordinary Jews wrote the books of the Bible over a period stretching from 1500 BC to about 70 AD. Prior to 1500 BC the books were transmitted by oral tradition. We believe God provided the inspiration and impetus to the author to write using his own language skills and in a manner ordinary people can understand. So it is no big deal if the Bible abounds in human errors. Who gave the Pope the authority to make changes? The answer is Jesus when He told Simon Peter that he is the rock on which He would build His Church. And why should the Pope introduce changes? The answer is again given by Jesus in Mathew 9:17 when He asked His followers " to put new wine in new wineskins", that is to say " adopt new doctrine for new generation so as to be compatible." That is precisely the reason why the Church rejects Jesus' diktat in Mathew 5:32 which says whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. In the prevailing mores in society Jesus' diktat violates human right of a helpless woman.

@@Shaq756 : You are welcome. The Latin wording of the verse in question is" Et ne nos inducas tentationem". Theologically correct translation is " And let us not be led into temptation." The word 'inducas' has two parts:' in' which means into and 'ducas' has its root in ducere which mean to lead.

You must search and you must first study. Leave the prejudices and study every faith you can find through the texts of that faith. Don't listen to those who attack other people's faiths because theirs behavior already shows you the way not to follow.
Kudos to Samuel Green for trying his best to interpret the Qur'an verse which states that Jesus not being killed & raised upto God as being similar to the death of the martyr. However, the Qur'an categorically states that Jesus was neither CRUCFIED nor KILLED. He conveniently leaves out the Not Crucified part of the Qur'an and starts quoting Scholars, Christian & Muslims

There is no verse in the Qur'an that says "Jesus did not die". What is says is THEY DID NOT kill or crucify him. This is the same type of description as when the Qur'an denies that the jihadists killed Muhammad's enemies: "You did not kill them. God killed them." (Qur’ans, 8:17) According to the Qur'an, only Allah gives and takes life. The Qur'an claims to reveal the unseen, and so the Qur'an is not denying the historical death of Jesus any more than it is denying the historical death of those the jihadist killed in 8:17.

Having said that I would like to express myself by saying that no where in entire Qur'an you will find the word "martyrdom" or "Jesus being martyred" where crucifixion is discussed in Qur'an. You are connecting or assuming something that is not there in the first place. Quran is simply saying "They killed him not" ... By "they" it simply means Jews and the Romans who thought that they killed Jesus for sure. For God, it would've been easier to make such an unambiguous statement like "They killed him not... Jesus was martyred raised to heaven and shall return to you one day" ... Or God could have simply said something like... "Martyres never die so is Jesus" ... But this is not the case ... The concept of Jesus's crucifixion and the concept of martyrdom are two very different concepts in Islam .., if the word is not there then you must not assume. I enjoyed the debate though!
You obviously do not understand the crucifixion because you are spiritually discerned the Lord Jesus crucified is the key to our redemption salvation and freedom from sin and it reconciled us back to God and we are very close to again and now God walks with us because of the crucifixion hallelujah glory be to our Lord Jesus Christ amen
1:05:30 Adnan wins here without a doubt. Samuel misinterpreted the Quran when it clearly says "they crucified him not" he says "it means he was killed as martyr".

There is no "Jehovah", and if you are referring to Yahweh, go read about its origin. It's just "lesser god" idol that was assigned to the Israelites, and after a religious conflict, they leveled him up to "mighty god". You will not find "Yahweh" in the New Testament, which was written in Greek. Only in the Old Testament, because the Israelites CORRUPTED it.

@@TechieBunny The Jews expect a Messiah who would delivered them from the Roman occupation and reestablished the worldly Kingdom of Israel as it was in the era of King David where the 12 Tribes were still united. In the beginning they thought that Jesus would fulfiled the promise. If you read the Gospel you will find how the Jews welcome him when Jesus entered Jerusalem. They shouted cheerfully, "Hosana! Blessed is that comes in the Name of The LORD." But It was not the aim of The LORD to establish a worldly Kingdom. Jesus said,"My Kingdom is not of this world." His Kingdom beyond this world. Their expectation was wrong. The LORD promised not that kind of worldly Kingdom. Jesus Christ failed to meet the criteriae of their expected Messiah. Even though, in fact Jesus Christ fulfiled all Biblical prophecies about the coming of Messiah. Until this day The Jews still wait for their "Messiah" who will reestablish the worldly Kingdom of Israel. The problem is the Jews refuse the True Messiah (Jesus Christ). They can not imagine that The Messiah should be suffering and crucifed . They neglect the prophecy in Genesis 3:15, Psalm 22, Isaiah 53.

The difference is in the areas in the New Testament where it contradicts the rest of the Scriptures in the Bible and in the Quran. Most Jews dont believe Christ is the Messiah not because of his kingdom he promised but because according to Christians, he was murdered and sacrificed. Muslims dont believe Jesus died either, God raised him back to return for the Anti-Christ. The Bible only disagrees with our scripture only when it contradicts itself. But looks like David wood has gotten more soft have you watch lately? Patrick Fisher: There is no contradiction as far as the fact of Jesus' crucifixion is concerned. There are only inconsistencies about collateral details. That is because the narrative came from 4 different authors who were inspired by God to write but did not receive verbatim dictation from Him, contrary to what Adnan tried to project and mislead the audience.

So, the inconsistencies and other human errors in the Bible is not an issue for us Christians because such inconsistencies and human errors do not have any bearing on the core Christian beliefs and practices. There are inconsistencies in the Quran too. For example, one verse advices Muslims, " Do not insult those who invoke other that Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity, without knowledge". But another verse insults Jews, Christians and Polytheists as " Worst of Creatures". And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain".

Haw do you know Jesus died on the Cross. The torture Jesus went through is not in the early manuscripts it was added to the story to strengthenthe narrative. Jesus was not tortured or beaten, had his legs broken etc... Ponctious Pilate had nothing against Jesus but was strong armed into doing what he did. There is no evidence he was nailed to a cross again this is a later addition and besides the normal roman practice was to tie the person with rope. Naw Jesus was just tied to a cross and he was up for haw long? Just a few hours. Just what exactly did he die of? All the Quran say is they thought they killed him on the Cross. It looked like he died but he didn't. The sahaba did not ask any questions so there where no hadith to give further explanation. This idea of someone else taking the form of Jesus was an attempt by early Muslim scholars to reconcile the Quran with the historical accounts in the bible. They did not live in the information age and simply took what the Christians where saying at face value but of course naw we know the story evolved and the Christians added a lot and with this information you don't need any interpretation. You can just take what the Quran say literally. Jesus (pbuh) voluntary handed himself in he was tied to a cross for afew hours. It looked like he died but he didn't, Simple. As Christian am disappointed that there has been a discussion on Psalms 91 for almost 30 mins but no one mentions Psalms 22, exactly from the same book of King David. THe simple logic would be the Prophecy of King David on Psalms 22 is precisely what happened in the whole Process of Crucifixion. How about all the Prophecy in Old testament ? The 30 pieces of Silver? Isaiah 53 ? (okay they can question this ) but Psalms 22 and Jer 19 (talks about Zechariah's prophecy of 30 pieces of Silver).

You are connecting or assuming something that is not there in the first place. Quran is simply saying "They killed him not" ... By "they" it simply means Jews and the Romans who thought that they had killed Jesus for sure. For God, it would've been easier to make an unambiguous statement such as "They killed him not... Jesus was martyred raised to heaven and shall return to you one day" ... Or God could have simply said something like... "Martyres never die so is Jesus" ... But this is not the case ... The concept of Jesus's crucifixion and the concept of martyrdom are two very different concepts in Islam .., if the word is not there then you must not assume. I enjoyed the debate though!

Had it been the case God would have made a direct statement in Qur'an about Jesus having achieved the status of a martyr and that he is among those who are physically dead but spiritually alive in heaven. May I give you another example in this regard in order to simplify this concept... In Quran it says that God ascended Jesus to heaven . Suppose an atheist comes up to me and ask me how a physical human being can go to heaven just like that?? Did Jesus board a spacecraft that travelled lightspeed and reached heaven?? Does Qur'an says anything about rocket propulsion?? My answer would be "No" not at all...This atheist guy may further ask me that which creatures or beings of God have the ability to travel back and forth from heaven to earth on daily basis that is mentioned in your Qur'an or Bible? Naturally my answer would be "angels"... So he may further ask... based on my reply or statement... Is it incorrect to say that Jesus could've been an angel who was sent down from heaven and as he landed he became human and when he left he again transformed into an angel with wings and flew away?? Since Qur'an does not explicitly says how he was raised (the mechanism behind this phenomenon)?? Since angels are mentioned in both Bible and Quran and they have the ability to travel from heaven to earth back and forth all the time? So why jesus was not an angel?? Why was he considered a messenger of God based on how he ascended to the heavens?? Naturally my reply would be that "You are right technically" since no other prophet left this world, Like how Jesus Did in Qur'an ... But based on our Quranic and biblical knowledge, For sure Jesus was not an angel (for numerous reasons). My analogy would be that the word "Jesus ascended like an angel" (similarly like the word "martyr" is missing in that verse) is simply not there especially in that specific Quranic verse when it comes to Jesus's ascendation . But for the sake of an argument one can argue with me that this atribute of Jesus sounds very much like an angel..and.. ...technically I would say "Yes" if you read other verses of Qur'an you will find angels ascending and descending from heaven all the time. But Angel's ascendation and JESUS ascendation are two different things and one must not confuse one from the other. In other words let's not assume the opposite is true...if you find Quranic verse confusing to interpret (when it comes to crucifixion of Jesus) then may I suggest that you to stop right there. Comparing oranges to apples is not the solution of this problem. It will further confuse you. It's not about finding "the missing link" here...confusion leads to Assumption and assumptions leads to fabrication, interpolation and concoction... So this would be the most logical reply that I can give based on my limited knowledge. So I hope that this simple example may sound more logical in the above case.

Again, I would say there is not a word in the Qur'an that specifically means martyr anyway, so that the word martyr is not assigned to Jesus is not a problem, it is not assigned to anyone. Regarding angels ascending, the Qur'an says that those who die in Allah's way are taken up to God. There is no need to talk about angels. As I point out in the debate and my booklet, the description of those who die in Allah's way is the same description that we find for the crucifixion: they only appear to be dead and have been taken up to Allah. In the booklet I show how 3:55, 5:117 refer to Jesus being taken in death, and 4:157-158 never says that Jesus was taken bodily. Again I ask, what does it mean that Jesus only "appeared" to be crucified and killed to the Jews?

Another very clear contradiction: In short: Samuel quoted The Holy Quran saying that Jesus (peace be upon him) wasn't crucified, yet Samuel interpreted it [incorrectly] that he was and falsely claims that all Muslims agree with this! In detail: Samuel quoted The Holy Quran many times where Allah clearly said that Jesus (peace be upon him) was not crucified (4:157, The Holy Quran) but Samuel insisted that Jesus (peace be upon him) was, and falsely claimed that we Muslims are in agreement with this! Unfortunately Samuel calimed so after misinterpreting The Holy Quran (which I think Adnan lightly touched on) despite Samuel's claiming that his interpretation is from The Holy Quran itself. (يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ) [ آل عمران آية: 71 ] O People of the Scripture, why do you mix [i.e. confuse] the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know [it]? (3:71, The Holy Quran) If the Holy Quran clearly says that Jesus (peace be upon him) wasn't crucified, then how can one twist its clear-as-day meaning (and from within it) to say that the crucifixion happened?! It's a clear contradiction, but unfortunately I fear it's easy for someone to not to see that if they've live a long life accustomed to it being a norm and found no way to escape from it. The Quran explained that Jesus was taken up to Allah and that how he is in a state of sleep as the verb used is 《tawaaffa》which means sleep as this verb 《tawaafa》is also used when Allah explained how he takes the soul from the body when someone sleeps during the night.

Lots of false prophets claim they hear God. Mohamad contradicts all the prophets from the Bible yet he has ZERO qualifications to back up the quran. The only way to say quran is correct and not the Bible, is to have "the real bible" to confirm what quran says, and it does not exist, proving this is just coming from the imagination of mohammad.

Meja Makan Isaiah 9:6 disagrees with mohamad, it says a child will be born and his name shall be called counsellor, MIGHTY GOD.... thats just one for you to deal with, how a child being born is might God? It is a prophecy of Jesus. Why would you take mohamads testimony over Paul's? Paul and the other apostles were all in agreement. They all claimed Jesus as God and they all suffered brutal deaths for what they witnessed and recorded for us to know.
