I feel so bad for Jose when he said out of all his siblings, he was the only one giving up for foster care at 16 on his birthday and then now he don’t look forward for his birthday that broke my heart not to mention he been raped he have been through so much you can look and see all the pain in his eyes. I’m so happy that him and his mom is going to go to therapy
Adults that violate children have no idea the lifelong impact they make on that person’s mental health. And it’s sickening how many of us have been violated as children the numbers are astounding and disturbing.
It doesn’t matter, they don’t care about the lifelong impact, only themsleves and their temporary pleasure. I pray for all the children out here, and the adults traumatized from years ago🫶🏾🙏🏾💕
I actually think most or all adults absolutely understand the repercussions of the abuse and trauma they inflict on children which is why they do it.. Gives them a sense of power and control which is typically the cornerstone for most perpetrators.. Very disturbing
I have a feeling that the grandmother is actually a lot to blame for him going into foster care and a lot of issues between them. I think she controlled her daughter and took advantage when she was in hospital to get rid of her grandson that was gay and ‘problematic’
For who? Sadly the state of being this woman is in I can only imagine who she had a baby with and he may not have been any better. He should have asked the Dad for a paternity test and ask him why he wasn’t around either.

She didn’t. The show was very confusing, but it seems that he was taken away while she was away in the hospital. I’m still not sure why only he was taken.
It was stated that he attacked someone or became violent in some way. This story was the hardest to follow. The teacher in me was itching because there was no chronological order in the storytelling. Sentences were incomplete. Mom was repeatedly interrupted, which makes me wonder if she was telling the truth and he didn't want it heard. It was just hard to follow him. I pray he gives counseling a real shot as an adult. He's not going to heal on his own.
This is a prime example of parents that do the best with what they got. What I mean is, a lot of parents are parenting with vital missing tools. Obviously she loves and cares for him. No doubt or presumptions about that. On the other hand, she was raised to shut the door and ignore the fire in the other room. Doesn’t excuse the hurt she caused her son, but it does create an understanding for me. That’s what Karamo is saying when he says give some grace.
The way some of yall act like just because somebody is your biological parent you have to “respect & honor” them is INSANE! Knock it off. He has every right to feel how he feels & express his emotions. Yall weren’t there for how he was treated so give it a rest on how YALL think he should treat her!!!
I feel kind of lost. He was removed from the household at 16 years old while she was hospitalized. Why wasn’t he ever brought back home? She said she was told he was doing good in foster care. Does that mean she never saw him or talked to him while he was in there?
This is probably the first time he’s been in a safe space to communicate these things to her and he wants to get it all out. Remember, we are always the parent and they are always the child. It’s her job to listen. If she gotta wait til next time to “defend” herself, then that’s just what she gotta do.
Karamo needs to address this nonsense of ppl blaming every bad thing that happens to them is because they’re gay. It’s not always the case. She loves her son. They’re both victims of circumstance.
Generational trauma is a very involved situation. I know from experience, and so do my children. It can be debilitating, but healing is around the corner. It just takes lots of work, acceptance, and accountability.
He is still a MAN traumatized and he is crying he is just trying his best to hold it in.... Give the man some grace..... this is/was a tough situation!!
That's exactly what I thought, whilst he has experienced trauma, I wanted to know the facts of how/why things went into direction. There's two sides to every situation.
How are you alive and well and make a phone call to put your child in foster care? And he was the only one. She's lucky because I'd never speak to my mother again
He was taken away when she was in the hospital. He previously stated that he had been violent. I don't think he put her in the hospital, but there were some issues, and things happened when she couldn't protect him. I believe grandma may have cause him to be taken away.
He was out of control. He was committing crimes. Had a probation officer before he was 18. She had other children to raise. Can we not hate on this Mother. Talking one by one didn't work with this kid at all. That is plain to see. Mother did what she felt was right at the time for her other children.

How much money in court costs is this kid costing his Mother, while she is trying to feed other children? What abuse is the kid giving the Mother and other children in the household? He was on probation but still going out and causing problems, while his MOTHER was in the hospital. I don't know what I would do....but if it came down to protecting the younger children in the household.....then YES.....100%!!!!! Sometimes there are no more options. I watched the whole show but I had the feeling he was full of drama but the momma was hiding her angry too but I feel bad for the mom because he accused her of something so horrible but I know kids be switched at birth

It seems like she did not have any control over it. It seems like he was taken when she was gone away to the hospital. Was there another time when she sent him herself? It was a very confusing episode.

When you have other kids and you have one kid been disrespectful it teaches the other ones to behave the same. He never let his mom finish saying all the things he was doing because it would have gave people a different perspective about the situation. His mom been knew he was gay but he kept trying to use that to his advantage.
Why did the son have to reach out for a hug at first 😢, I feel like mom should’ve reached out when she first walked out especially having not talked to him in a year, & bc of his trauma he had in foster care etc. what kind of mom is she??? Karam❤. Your topics and your concerns for ppl are very emotional and however well needed. A lot of us have drowned our truth in so many unhealthy trauma bond events that it's until you're much older that we see how we effected our families and what our own parents went through. I'm thkful for my mother knowing I need therapy and God to carry me to where I am today. I'm not a victim, for I survived and never stirred away frm getting help and trying to reach my children and their children that therapy, a third party that knows how to help. I feel the mom n I get she had alot going on and I also understand we all come from different struggles nonetheless that handsome dude is going through his own trauma as well n I'm glad he is very well and outspoken to say it too hopefully they heal together n build a stronger bond ❤❤❤

This is how karmic cycles and generational curse stay prevelent Mom clearly has gone through things that she hadn’t received support/validation for nor healed from before becoming a parent Son is in the same boat but also very reluctant to seek counseling Just hope and pray they do get help and break the cycle

These shows pains me so bad even though I don’t know these people it’s still pains me. I am so grateful that I know who my parents are and that it was a privilege for me. I feel too grow up with them every step of the way. They were strict, but I know they were strict.
If things happened that way for him I pray he seeks therapy because he seems to be stuck in victim mode. Everything is everybody's fault and it leads back to him being gay. Maybe he not all the way okay with it . He needs therapy either way. He coming off like a manipulator. Something not right with this story.

Two sides he was a violent and belligerent teen..his mother had other kids to raise so she let him go..he created a scenario in his mind that she must not be my mom if she could do this or allow this to happen to me.. not once did he take responsibility for behaving in a manner that made his mother choose between her mother and her son

He wasn't adopted nor did she give him up because he was gay. something serious happened that legal had to get involved! apparently the mother wasn’t home due to work or running errands… since he was a minor he was taken from the home. He felt like his mother could have done more however she didn’t have the resources because as she stated, she was a young mother and she had multiple children not excusing, and the father was not there and he felt like since he was different from his siblings he had it off different. He was not allowing her to talk. This was this was a easy one.
Why would you let your child go to foster care at 16 ?? Unreal ! I'm sure he feels like he wasn't worthy of love . So sad now he will have to heal from the trauma of being abandoned.
I love Karamo show so much because his show allows all types of genders to speak their truth. Thank you so much for doing this show, it broke my heart what he went through being put into foster care and being treated differently. I love how his mother apologised and said she would be with him all the way. Similar things happened to me when I was younger and my mother up to date refused to take accountability. I had to put my 14 yr old on the system to save him from the streets and as I’m typing this I’m going through this but I have never left him the judge in the case have recognized I’m just a mom asking for help but I have never gone for what the said I am active with him every single day I visit him I STILL HAVE THE RIGHTS TO MY CHILD but never did I just left him and didn’t looked back that was not the intention. It is working with the experience and a lot of prayers my son it’s realizing the streets is not what he wants or needs.
Everybody have their own way of moving to accept anything,nobody need to feel like victims because of the reaction of others. Everybody need to give each other time to process any reality. She loves her son.I understand his feeling too. I hope they continue forward posotively.
This young man has been through too much and not to have his mother made my heart break into pieces. Just because he’s gay doesn’t mean you had to put him in foster care. You should still love your child through their sexual orientation. I’m gay but I never told my parents but I did tell my stepmom and she still loves me ❤🏳️🌈🥺
This Mother is horrible...she gave up her Son and didn't bother with him because of a Man...yet had other kids also. If you don't want to raise children...don't have them. Karamo is ridiculous to expect a child to be more mature than the parent.
This episode confused me if she wasn’t there when he got removed, she was in the hospital. What was going on? He wouldn’t let her talk to herself he kept cutting her off. He seems so disappointed I thought it was numbness, but it looks like disappointment .Something off! Great job of him, expressing his feelings and great job to Mom for allowing him and not making excuses but something off! We need an update with some questions answered!!!!
What type of service plan was put in place. Why she did not work with the system to get her son out of care. Why did he go into care? There’s too much questions to this
