I was wrong about this Kyosho Fazer Mk2. So here's my apology, plus a special upgrade for it! How nice is the Skyline GTR Body!

He promotes a lot of cheap Chinese crap that he gets for free. Most of which he only uses a couple of times so has no real idea about its quality .. Just take most of the recommendations with a huge grain of salt and enjoy the channel for what it really is entertainment , not honest reviews of quality equipment.

Awesome run Phil. Our MK2 is still going 4 yrs strong now. It’s now a General Lee. We jump it and run off road and everything. All we had to do so far is replace the bearings after running on salty winter roads. Glad you offered this some redemption! Good luck to all who entered! 👊🏼😎

Awesome video... Inhave a few tt02 cars and 2 of the Fazer cars, the skyline in this video and one built up from the chassis kit. This video makes me even more a fan of your channel.... I think i was one of the folks who commented on the shootout video. Glad to see youve revisited this chassis, it really is a joy, and steers a decent bit better stock than my modified tt02 cars ... Thanks for giving it another chance. Mine is absolutely ballistic on 3s with 4,000kv. I did put the metal center shaft in and the upgraded motor mount, but that's all. It will absolutely shred those tires, though, lol. Sometimes, the simple approach Kyosho takes on these chassis just works.

My dad has a Vintage Kyosho Wild Dodge Ram from 1997, still ran until like 8 years ago when we rolled it and the old D-battery pack shattered from being so old lmfao(it was the slowest roll ever, just barely rolled). Everything else is still working and good condition. It even has a set of brand new tires that still have yet to be mounted on rims! I forgot Kyosho even existed, awesome video!

I mean, Phil wasn’t far off with his quality assessment! Plastic push on pinion? That’s horrible! Even a cheapo TT02 has a metal one with a grub screw (every other component IS plastic though…..) 😂😂

I've got one that I just mashed a Castle 1410 and a Hobbywing Quicrun 120A setup in. The Quicrun 120 fits in the stock location surprisingly enough

HW Quicrun 10BL120 would have been perfect for this, is not waterproof, but so much smaller, I think the chassis could have stayed intact.

I share your same sentiment with the Fazer and it’s cheap looking plastics, but it’s actually quite good and solid. Kyosho upgrades for the Fazer are premium parts and the cost is insane. I have added nearly every part available to one of my two Fazers and it’s amazing but it just makes that ugly plastic chassis stick out all the more. :)

We run these for our parking lot race. The class is "Novice Brushed". I have run mine for 2 seasons and have not done anything to it except tires and added a motor fan. I have other more expensive 4wd touring cars that seem to break stuff every other race.

I have this exact fazer and ive gotten it to 65 MPH / 104 KPH with a Castle Mamba X and a 1406-7700kv. Did change the drive shaft to metal and different tires and wheels. But its a GREAT car and I have one set up with drift tires that is endless fun

I did this motor upgrade in my mk2. Crashed the car into a curb because the tire ballooned and popped. Only thing that broke was the battery strap and that was already about to break. Great car and with the motor upgrade it is the best rc i have rn

I have been beating the absolute piss out of my fzo2 custom rally on 3s and a 6800kv brushless system, I've had a LOT of 40-50mph crashes, curv slides, and rolls, and the only things ive broken have been spur gears, which i dont mind as they're a cheap part and a good failpoint to have. And that's been mostly down to me driving like a child

You can run Traxxas 4tec spur and get some serious speed or a Kimbrough 32dp for some strength. In terms of diffs, Kyosho list parts for sealed diff cases and 4 gear diffs, so you can properly tune them. Drivetrain noise is because the diff ring gear isn't properly meshed, add a 0.2mm shim under the bearing and it'll be loads better.

I have the Kyosho Fazer Mk2 GTR and the Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Pro and both are so durable. They are the only two rc cars that I haven't replaced parts for. They are fun cars.

When you hit full throttle it gives the motor a little more RPM

The plastics are probably good, since Kyosho knows how to make decent quality materials, but it does seem like the molds used to make these parts are getting somewhat worn out, hence the amount of flash on the parts.

You had right from the start about the plastic its horrible! Its just the bumber that saves the on road tracks. I got Mad Wan with no foam bumper it breaks as sone the big wheels hits any horrible.

Would Tamiya M chassis wheels and tyres fit. That would give you options of stock kit tyres, M grips or S grips.

Good move doing this :) I agreed with your comparison except for the Kyosho stuff. I had the same issue with the ESC being too big so I made the Chevy Bel Air brushless instead. Love your content, I've bought a few cars based on your recommendations, thank you!

Nice job tho! I use mosquito door netting cut to size for my Kyoshos as they do like to collect the scenery, 99% stays out now. There's a plastic shroud included in their upcoming Subaru FZ02 - R tho.

I'd like to know how much twist the is in the drive shaft. A small amount of twist might take some strain out of the front diff, but it's still plastic. 🤔

Your initial review did highlight the performance desert that is 10th scale street cars. It seems like the industry standard for these cars is brushed and slow as hell. I wanted one last year and after pricing all the hop-ups I thought required and a nice brushless setup I was quickly approaching WR8 price tag. So I bought a WR8 instead. Not a single regret...

Ive smacked curbs at 50mph with mine and drove away. Ive never had to buy a replacement part for it either. Platform is a tank

Defo need the metal centre shaft. I've had 2 VE (brushless) Fazers & they were nice handling cars & wouldn't roll, which shows the balance & is great as the lovely bodies are kept A1. Your HW electro's would beat the standard VE gear, so job's a good 'un :)

I am looking into another street ride/drifter. Maybe a rally car? Maybe this will do it. But then, really and on road have there differences to rally. Either way, in time, I'll widen my birth with different RC's.

without knowing i went for a absima touring and then realized the chassis is a more than proved hsp 94123 with thousands of parts and upgrades available for very cheap. Already went brushless. Fazer bodies are so good i would feel terrible crashing them.

Yes, I agree… lots of egos out there haha. I am always happy to see other opinions. When it’s just one or 2 then I don’t really look in to it. But there were multiple ones on the video, so felt I may have been harsh on my initial assessment.

The lower score is better. Are we playing golf now? The Kyosho fazer chassis is quite durable. Their bodies, however, are not. They're expensive and damn near made of glass. Beauty comes at a price. $$$ and durability. I have the 67 GTO and took it to my local indoor street track. A couple minor bumps in the barrier and the front end looks like it was hit by a truck. I put it jack stands under it on a shelf. Looks cool.... lol

Honestly, I think the thing with Kyosho plastics is that the actual plastic itself is really good, but they have a lot of small issues with mold quality which results in flash and slight deformities. Maybe their injection molding machines are old?

yeah I ran a 3s setup on my fazer for a bit and even with the metal driveshaft the shaft was vibrating like crazy aaaaand I blew up both diffs to the point where they won't hold oil anymore . . .WHOOPS. going to stick to 2s . . . . unless ball diffs can handle 3s :)

Kudos to you for revisiting the Fazer from your previous review. Awesome cars. 3S is insane and for anyone wondering, they handle 3S fine, just make sure you upgrade the centre shaft.

That is the Tamiya Honda City Turbo! Phil have U kept the original chassis under it? Also those different wheel/tire combo on it? I have a couple bodies and was doing a conversion. I may have missed your conversion/upgrade if U did. Please enlighten with any info? I’ll try to search also. Thank U
