Was It A Mistake Trading For This Vice Grip Camaro?

Derek Bieri of @vicegripgarage traded me this 74 Camaro for some other stuff ( that actually ran! :) ) You know I have a huge weakness for 2nd Gen Camaros like ZedSled, and Mr Freeze and the abandoned crappy ones always seem to find me... www.paintucation.com/ has all kinds of tutorials on restoration, but I don't know if i can bring this one back. This car is special, its a 74 with the good back glass, just like the 70-73's so the potential is there if the structure is sound.... Watch and see if it's worth saving. ( spoiler alert... they're ALL worth saving and this one is gonna get saved again! the 4th time by my account...) maybe It’ll end up a restored 74 ( not) maybe it’ll be another split-bumper LS powered clone…. Maybe a turbo 6 cylinder… you’ll have to watch and see. Please subscribe!

My friend had a 74. That was read the shifter in that is cool if you pull it down to low one or a first gear in the automatic when you're ready to shift instead of tapping it forward. Bump it to the right, just go ahead and slap it to the right. You'll kick up in the second slap it till the right again and it'll Camaro. Did that and I'm pretty sure it was his 74. They could have been the seventy six but i'm pretty sure it was a seventy four and maybe all of them do it so check that out

I remember when that car was new. I was 14 at the time. A neighbor bought a new gold color Type LT. I've had two second gen Camaros. a '79 Berlinetta and an '80 Z28. That was back in the mid-late '80s. They were in near new condition. AZ cars, zero rust. I remember being upset over a few scratches in the paint. I can only imagine what those cars would be worth today in that condition.

The 1970-1/2 split bumper Camaro is my favorite of all time. I was reliving the struggle and pain as I watched you push that car into the garage. Been there, done that! Feel the muscles burn! If your cardio is like mine, I bet those lungs hurt too! I absolutely love your floor jack. Super low profile and a real retro look. So cool! You have a very relatable personality Kevin. Good sense of timing when to be funny. I did notice the "Here's looking at you Derek" grille damage humor! I discovered you through Derek's channel, but now I'm here for the long haul. Love this project and the conversion from 74 to 70 is awesome. The 74 isn't a Z/28 so you're not ruining a classic Z 👍🏻 saw Stacy David doing a similar project but his Camaro didn't have the correct rear glass like yours so I'm looking forward following this project. Side note I really missed watching all the power block stuff and I was really excited when I found your channel 👍🏻

I really like how the headlight panel kept reinstalling it's self and he removed it 3 times LOLOL

I like to watch VGG get these beaters running, but it's a shame they usually end up parked in the treeline again... Nice to see this one found a good home and will be rescued for real, I will be following this one for sure! Greetings from Finland!

I think you're doing the right thing by putting a split bumper front end on it. That car is going to look so awesome 👍

Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍. Kevin as a fan of most of GM products of 1973 to 1977 many folk have no love for these years , like the Colonnades as well ! Now I see they have run of the most popular cars , so you many see a little more interest. 😂🤣😂🤣

Thank you Kevin for pushing that car with your legs! I was taught that way back in the early 90’s when I was driving a tow truck. It’s the most direct route from the ground to the car, doesn’t involve your joints for your hands to your feet, and is way better for your back😂👍🏻💪🏻

Here we go again Kevin, I love the second Gen Camaro’s I’ve had 3 of them my last one being an 81 4 speed car that sat for 30 years in a garage until I got it and got it in show quality condition before selling it for a new ZL1.

My cousin had a yellow '74 with a black vinyl top. Her neighbor had a nice red '72 Firebird Esprit. I love the front ends on the '70-'73 Firebirds / Trans Ams.
