Thanks my iPhone Pro Max just said this in the car. Thanks for the video. I think the lightning connector is bad. Which sucks because I love Apple CarPlay.
Phones aren’t meant to be submerged in water which is what water proof means. Water resistant means it can handle a little bit of water, whereas water proof means that it could be submerged in liquid. For example your phone can handle a little bit of water being spilled on it, but not being submerged. If your phone was to be submerged it would damage the internal components and corrode the metal parts. Hope this helps :)
@@lyn7155 wait o24 to 48 hours then connect it, if it turns on then leave it until it turns on, then unplug it and turn on airplane mode and leave it for a night
so this happened to me and I was panicking and I didn’t know what to do (I was at 2 percent ) so i shut down my phone and blew in the charger port a few times then it started working. like so everyone can see
I’ve been getting this for last week, but haven’t spilled anything, haven’t taken it outside in rain and it’s been pretty hot the past couple weeks, so you’d think any liquid would have evaporated fairly quick. If it’s humidity, then you’d think it would have had this issue in winter/spring, being kept in cold, damp unheated bungalow, with it raining non stop outside!! There’s definitely nothing in port and I’ve tried 3 different cables in different plugs/ports too, so definitely an issue with the phone.
Let me guess, your here because you listened to music in the shower and your phone got steamed up, and then you went to charge your phone and that warning popped up and you went “ohhh shit”. So now your here trying to find out wether you’ve broken your phone or not
yeah. about right. instead i started the shower and left my phone plugged in on the counter. i went downstairs and came back up and the alert came up on my phone. i just wanted to listen to music while showering. and now i cant even use my phone and i still have to shower.
I wish you all good luck with your water damaged devices, and those of you who’s phones are currently safe, I hope you never have to deal with water damage. Rip.
I’ll share my experience/thoughts: When I first had this issue all I did was unplug my phone from my charger & unplugged it from my laptop and let the wire sit for a few minutes and it worked perfectly fine afterwards, Hope this helps y’all
⚠️ for anyone panicking and thinking their phone is going to break ⚠️ don’t worry! here are the steps to fix it!! 1) power off your phone and leave it for 30 minutes 2) before turning it back on, blow a few times into the charger port 3) power your phone back on and wait 30 seconds 4) now you can charge your phone! i did this and it works! and your phone shouldn’t have any lasting damage as long as you act quickly. like this so everyone will see it!!
For everyone who is worrying, all you do is check ur charging port on your phone and clean it and also clean ur lightning cable and wait about 20mins and u should be good dont panick
ok everyone i’m glad i’m not going thorough this alone lol this happened to me and i freaked out. My problem was that i had dust in my phone and i cleaned it out with a toothpick and it worked. Just letting you people know in case you can not figure out what is happening to you phone.
liquid detected notice still showing up after 3 days of drying upright in an air conditioned room, is it safe to emergency override and charge? surely any liquid should’ve evaporated by now
It just happened to me and my phone died so I charged it and now I don’t get the notification . Is it fine and should I keep charging it now to prevent damage
LOL I was trying to make a temporary tattoo with paper and markers and perfume and I dropped my phone in the water this is a scary moment it just happened right now
This happened to me with a brand new iPhone 11. I sometimes clean my screen with a mix of vinegar and water but I wring the cloth out pretty well before using it. The alert freaked me out so I followed Apple's suggestions to fix it and after around 6 hours the error message was still popping up after drying the phone by a window. I kept thinking the phone doesn't appear wet in any way so it was odd to me. I even contacted Apple and they suggested I send the phone in for repair. At any rate after approximately 3 more hours the phone was fine and I could charge it again. I think the water issue was with the lightning charger and not the phone itself.
and now my phone only charges if it’s laying flat 👍 my parents already wasted so much money on phones so i’m gonna just have to get over it but if anyone has advice pls help
Bruh I’m reading all the comments and everyone dropped there phone in the tub or something and then there is me who brought my phone into the pool thinking it was going to be fine
amira nothing went wrong Heres what happened though: Even though I pressed override on message about water in the phone and left it on the charger all night it some how automatically stopped charging anyway so I woke up with like 3% but by the morning the water had dried up and I could charge normally
Tap your iPhone gently against your hand with the Lightning connector facing down to remove excess liquid. Leave your iPhone in a dry area with some airflow. After at least 30 minutes, try charging with a Lightning cable or connecting a Lightning accessory. If you see the alert again, there is still liquid in the Lightning port or under the pins of your Lightning cable. Leave your iPhone in a dry area with some airflow for up to a day. You can try again to charge or connect a Lightning accessory throughout this period. It might take up to 24 hours to fully dry.
Million times thank you sir.. I literally had a panic attack when that alert came up, and just before that i accidentally spilled some water on my iPhone. I did that light tap tactic on the bottom on the phone and now it charges fine.. Thanks sir
I’m so confused my phone was charging from 7% to now 98% I looked down and all of a sudden this notice came up?! Like wtf it was just sitting there the whole time
A blow-dryer actually works great and is safe. You need one with a low heat setting, and you have to place the phone the right distance away so the housing gets warm but NOT hot. Aim air at bottom edge of phone. Works much faster and better.
I just put a corner of a napkin into the lighting cable port. It soaked up some water. I did it to all four corners of my paper napkin until it came out dry. It worked again.
regalito the chad nahhhh y’all he said at the end that there could be dust and debris in the lighting port (the place you plug your charger in your phone) so you can clean it with compressed air and it will work again. It worked for me!
This really does work! I was so scared that I wouldn’t be able to charge my phone but if you just lightly bang the sides, top and bottom if your phone, leave it for about 20 mins and my phone worked again!
Guys istg every time this happens I come here and the comments change my mood Everytime this happens I panic but then I remember the vid and u guys are funny asf
This happened to me it works and speaker are clear and when I play something the sound pushes out water out the top speakers it happened after using y phone to film underwater videos at the ymca pool
I did nothing to damage my phone so I don’t know where this notification came from, plus I had been charging for a while when the notification showed up
