I usually work late on Thursdays so I tend to miss these streams (did manage to pop in for a bit yesterday!). I’ll put these live streams on while I’m making dinner or cleaning, and it’s honestly my favorite time I look forward to now. It’s really like you’re part of our home and chatting and cooking. Cinco de Mayo was a holiday that was celebrated by Mexican Americans here in the 🇺🇸 Because of the lack of representation and the media’s negative portrayal of Mexican Americans/Chicanos at that time, they wanted something positive to celebrate and bring awareness. 💕 it was really during the Chicano Movement of the 1960-70’s, that it became more popular :)

You know what I’d like to see a recipe for? Homemade Hoagie Dip. Yes, I’m from a suburb of Philly. I’ve had a few commercial varieties of hoagie dip. Some have been amazing and others have been terrible. I don’t know what the variable is but I know this has got to be something I can make at home even if I buy a hoagie and grind it in a food processor with some mayo maybe??

Love you guys. But Guys, please, please Don’t continue to spread the misinformation. Only two places Cinco de Mayo is celebrated is US and Puebla, Mexico, the state where it happened. Mexicans don’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo, NOBODY never, or maayyyyybeeeeee just in Puebla. We do celebrate September 16th as our Independence Day and November 20th. the Revolution. Not Cinco de Mayo 😩😫
