@15:32 The monster hunter franchise is actually really popular worldwide. When Monster Hunter world came out in 2018 it not only sold huge outside japan but is also capcom's best selling title ever!

The new Astro Bot game looks AMAZING!! The two previous games in the Astro series are critically acclaimed. The Astro Bot: Rescue Mission VR game has a 90 pro critic score and 9.0 user score on Metacrtic and Astro's Playroom (the free pack-in game that comes with the Playstation 5) has a 83 pro critic score and 9.0 user score on Metacritic. The only main knock against Astro's Playroom is that it was only 4 hours long. This new Astro Bot game coming this September looks AWESOME and looks be of a good amount of length and appears to be ramping up the pure INSANITY of Astro's story (A Playstation 5 that transforms into a space war ship for a space battle / rematch with the main alien villain of the original VR Astro game that's now trying to invade the new Astro game. That alone is worth it. I'm pre-ordering). Astro is cementing himself as the Playstation's mascot and he deserves it. I love that little robot!

Of all RU-vidrs Lady Decade and Aidan Millward are the two that I would love to just sit down at the pub and talk with.

Have anyone even saw the Silent Hill 2 presentation of Konami, not from Sony? This game looks really bad in the gameplay itself, maybe the studio will going to improve, but if the game will going to be released in the current state, do yourself a favor and wait for a massive sale, because paying full price for it, will just piss you off.

Any show with online only live service trash, is going to be awful, however I'm an optimist and try to find the saving grace, astrobot, silent hill and dynasty warriors all have real potential

I'm with you. The only reason I haven't got rid of my PS5 is the huge library of PS4 games I have. Console gaming feels just about dead, but I tell ya my kid and I have a blast playing the Switch and the Evercade together. Plus, the Steam Deck has revitalized my love for PC gaming.

Astro Bot is simply the most surprising game at this event.

This video proofs once more what I have been saying for a long while: there is a total lack of vatiety in modern gaming. Of all the games in this presentation there were exactly 2 titles that were non violent. And at least one of those 2 got us excited. Why don't game developers get that?

I only know this because of my girlfriend, but Nikke was an old mobile game she used to play. It basically was a dress up game but eventually was packed to the brim with microtranscations, so she quit playing it years ago. I think I read that the person who designed the open world for Zelda: BOTW was heavily involved with this game. It might have been in an older trailer or something. Naturally, she is interested in this, but it's a nostalgia purchase for her as well.

People be saying that they agree with Sony porting games to PC, but just like M$ that is the problem. Both of those companies are no longer focused on their console, which is why they both lack first party games and pushing GaaS. Notice the decline of both Xbox and PS started when they went to PC. Consoles need first party exclusives and that breeds competition. Just go back and look at E3 2013, 3014, 2015 and 2016. Look how hard Sony and M$ went back then. Well M$ before 2016, which was the year that they put their games on PC.

To be honest, everything that they displayed, was planet safe. That, add new games wasn't ready to display, and they will probably showcase more games, before this year is over, this is still, the beginning of the year. All of that aside, I feel that you were just being picky, abacus, I've gotten excited for most of these games, especially the dynasty warriors.

You definitely should try an ARPG (like Path of Exile, Diablo, Torchlight, Grim Dawn, etc). It took me way too long to try this kind of game (I only got to play them in my early 30s) and nowadays ARPGs are one of my favorite gaming genres. They're really fun and usually the story doesn't get in the way of dungeon crawling.

i really enjoyed it :) MH hype I think concord looks like the halfway point between overwatch and valorant, could be good . Hopefully they keep up with the content cadence. Dynasty warriors is china not japan

They took some live service garbage that deserved maybe a one-minute teaser and devoted a third of their entire presentation to it. Talk about skewed priorities. The reality is that Concord is a huge risk. Very few live service games are actually successful, and most of the ones that are successful have been established in the market for years. That Dynasty Warriors in Japan game looks very "meh" to me. I'm sure it'll appeal to a niche market, but I have no interest in it. Marvel Rivals looks shallow and pathetic. How are they trying this again when they've already seen that Marvel's Avengers and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have both flopped? Do they think THEIR live service abomination is somehow going to succeed where those failed? I was a little underwhelmed by Silent Hill 2's graphics, but that's mainly because Senua's Saga: Hellblade II has shown what's really possible with Unreal Engine 5. It still looks good, though. Some of the environments even look great. As long as they nail the tone and storytelling, I'll be happy with it. I wasn't expecting an Astro game to be the most exciting part of the show for me, but here we are. Astro Bot looks like a legitimately great game.

That state of play was beyond atrocious. Silent Hill 2 remake looked terrible. It has a DEI/ESG/BRIDGE company working on it & the dialogue most certainly is not better than the original. It completely missed the uncanny valley & Twin Peaks style strange delivery, which the developers have repeatedly said was done on purpose. I mean, just listen to Mary reading the letter to prove what people outside of Silent Hill talk like. That weird dialogue is on purpose, & they've changed it to bland, Hollywood mulch. That's not even mentioning the awful DEI driven changes to characters' appearances. Good video, but I think you need to be much more cautious about that Silent Hill remake.

If you think that, then you have a true misunderstanding of the OG and why the voice acting is the way it is and to me, the SH2R was the worst part of this whole presentation. It never needed a remake, they don't capture the vibe and aesthetics of the og AT ALL and they also worked with a Sweet Baby Inc. like company to woke the game up, like changing all the female charters to look ugly and less serialized... even though it was literally a plot point as to why they all looked like that, including the nurses.

If it were an E3 presentation, it'd be Sony's worst since the PS3 "$599 US Dollars."

They want to turn videogames like the electricity bill, you have to pay it monthly during entire life. It's up to consumers whether this continues this dark path or not.

I’d take creative shooters and soulslikes over what we got in the 360 era! Ew everything was a gritty easy game or cinematic game with no gameplay OR a CoD clone. I at least liked overwatch and elden ring. Not talking about monetization.

There are literally tens of THOUSANDS of hours worth gaming greatness just sitting on PS+ alone dating back nearly thirtyyears. Throw in vintage PC titles and, barring something truly special should corps decide to make games again, there is almost zero reason to spend a single dime on future games.

The 1st monster hunter game I got into was worlds. Let me tell you, it’s fantastic! Give the new one a shot. Lots of free post launch content & support as well. Seriously

Note: Dynasty Warriors is set in China. Samurai Warriors is set in Japan. Orochi Warriors is basically a fanfiction mashup of Dynasty and Samurai Warriors with additional fantasy elements.

I tend to play a lot of sports games, and it’s more rampant when playing Madden, NBA 2k, and it’s creeping in the WWE 2k games too. Every once in a while I’ll get on Fortnite, and it’s fine to play for a handful of battle royales.

The problem we’re having here is a total absence of innovation, devs are latching on to “what’s hot” and then proceeding to completely over do it, not realising if you eat fucking ice cream every meal ya gonna get sick of it, they have become lazy, they have become complacent, they just cookie cutter their games out the door. I’m going to point to 1 game from the ps1 KULA WORLD/QUEST as a prime example of innovation, who the fuck would have thought a beach ball bouncing around blocks could be a fun game…..and oohhhh was it ever fun, we just don’t have this anymore and it’s sad, little zs and alphas will never know what true gaming is

Path of Exile 2 is likely worth a look. Been in dev for PC for a looooong time off the back of the original.

The 10 minute cgi trailer at the start was a desperately cynical plea to get folk invested in some bargain bucket Guardians of the Galaxy characters for a creatively bankrupt Overwatch clone. And it got bloody trumped by Marvel Rivals minutes later! Unbelievable. I know Sony welcomed them to their studios...but if they are throwing that kind of budget around on a flavour of the month genre, I worry for their future. Most of the graphical souls like games bleed into each other and become forgettable. Movie trailers for games just don't work. Monster Hunter Wilds looked bloody awesome! Astrobot was a highlight...but I mean, when it follows Nintendo beats as closely as that did (right down to the proportions of the character model to mimic the gameplay mechanics!), then that does most of the heavy lifting. It was like those internet quizzes where you have to see if you can find all the bands or films in a picture. There were at least 24 Nintendo games in that trailer! Cynical. Smarmy. Borderline pretentious. 6/10

Agree, Astrobot is the must have of this state of play. I think Concord is the last desperate move of a game already almost dead. But I must admit enjoy Musou and the two other "japan style one player" shorts trailers I saw.

They couldve shown one simple teaser of Resi 9. Something like a giant red eyeball blinking, Leon turning around in the rain moodily, then the new logo and title for the game. But no. The show was as exciting as John Major's underpants.

I was showing my daughter Infinity Nikki because I knew she would love it, when my wife started getting excited watching the trailer. I think you're misjudging that game. And my daughter is very picky about games. She only likes It Takes Two, Spyro 3 remake, and Kingdom Hearts 1. She played KH2/3 and the other Spyro games but didn't get far before she decided to replay the others. The Marvel game looks awful.

As a long time Silent Hill fan, the Silent Hill 2 remake was my biggest disappointment about this State of Play. I have every other Silent Hill game, but I won’t buy that pathetic remake. I don’t have much hope for the other Silent Hill games coming out now. Just about everything is being ruined by DEI now.

Yeah I've been checked out on most newer games for a while now. Basically lady decade, myself and probably 90+% of viewers on this channel are no longer the target demographic for games. I will say i have a psvr2 so I'm interested in that alien game, and silent hill 2 for sure. But yeah I'm just hoping part 3 of ff7 remake doesn't get messed up at this point. I want that and a handful of others, but beyond that I'll probably just enjoy older stuff. Nintendo's next device will probably be the last newer console i buy.

Dynasty Warriors > Feudal Japan Ah... something doesn't quite add up there. Anyhow, disappointing part for me is that they may have replaced the kickass soundtrack that makes a game like that fun & exciting for dozens, if not hundreds of hours has been replaced by a stupid Chinese cinematic soundtrack. Not that it's bad, it simply won't be any good for the amount of time you'd spend playing the game. Also feels less colourful and more gritty, so it might start feeling bland much faster. That said, Hyrule Warriors is still my favourite game of this type to date. I feel like it's the best blend of things and that results in the best and most fun gameplay (the original HW & other versions of it, not the kinda mediocre BotW sequel they made).

Hero shooters are not zoomer shooters (with maybe the exception of tf2). Zoomer shooters are more like deathloop or story driven narrative shooters.
