Playing it now. It's pretty dope. Its no Nier Automata. But its a solid 8/10 game and must play for PS5 owners.

This game looked like it had so much potential in terms of world building and character development! I hope the developers build their next game with these things in mind! It’s refreshing having seen them create something so beautiful and thought provoking!!

Imagine if the developer made the source code open for fans to add these features themselves somehow. This could be huge and bring back the hype for a good while. Or maybe sell the source for another company or enter a partnership to do it.The game and possibilities seem to have become to big for them. They just need to keep controlling the quality.

Always remember nier automata was the second game so it's not completely fair to compare first game of 1 dev to the second game of another dev

Oh no totally agree. I apologize if it came across that way in my analysis. The comparisons I made were from a mindset before the games launch, me not taking it seriously. I like to believe I judged the game based on what it did and wanted more from it and its ideas presented.

@@berice4390 yeah the only area I find a bit boring in the great desert, but then it is a great desert lol. Im nearly done with my 3rd play through to 100% platinum. Wouldn’t mind a 4th in just skin suit on hard mode as wouldn’t need to collect anything either.

By the gameplay and ost alone the game is a 9/10 imo SB has a lot of personality, characters, world and especialy the enemies The only thing i didnt love it was the story, it was decent but i think there is so much it could achieve in storytelling and character development I hope SB gets a sequel and they realy invest on the story and characters more, the combat is excelent and addictive ❤

I agree with you on the gameplay and stuff my overly critical brain makes me wanna give it a lower score The last hours does a lot for me. But like I mentioned the open world and stuff before the ending is a drag to go through. Not compelling as the last hours.

Currently finished the platinum of Stellar Blade. Great video, although I can't 100% agree with you on it. Imo the Voice Acting was more than great. I am still trying to judge the game by the fact it's the first game this big that Shift Up has made. The gameplay is undeniably fantastic and reaches the depths of so combat heavy and deep games like Devil My Cry 5 for example. I really enjoyed the story. Yeah some parts might be a little bit predictale (Because duh, today you have so much stories made that some aspects will repeat here and there) but some of the sidequests were phenomenal, and the main story was very enjoyable. Mostly you see games struggle in the second half, which I'd say is quite the opposite here. I'd say Eidos 7 was great, Xion was ok, Wastelands and Great Desert were meh (I hate desert maps) but damn, Eidos 9, Spire 4, both Altuss levels, they were soooo damn great. Loved how the game just casually shifted into horror aspects and how they didn't shy away from making the later parts grandiose. I didnt really like some f the earlier bosses but once you reach the second half, I think only boss that I really hated was Providence. I loved this game dearly since they released the demo and I am thoroughly waiting for the next installment in this series. I played throuh all the endings yesterday and I must say all of them were quite epic, but the one I enjoyed the most was Cost of Lost Memories. I gope the next game would build upon this one, even tho its unlikely due to there being the secret ending which I would assume will be the canonical one.

@@AlphaOmegaLPstudio I ride back and forth on some of my criticisms on the voice work and other aspects. As like you said Its there first game however its imperative to me that these are addressed so it can be improved on in the second game. I do totally understand giving them some leeway due to this studio’s position. I do think the games story had so much potential though. It utilizes the biblical elements with no substance behind them. It actually has a really solid layout for something way way more than what we got. If you read the notes and so on you can seee it’s all there but not presented in a way that’s profound or even compelling. Till the next game I suppose. And thank you for the thoughtful comment.

Eve is a made robot, but she didn’t realized that. She is still understanding people’s emotion and morals. If you interact with the npc’s, she ask questions about why they do what they do. Just take terminator for example. He was naive to human emotion and he was taught human emotions by John Conner. If you take stellar blade and see what its main purpose was, it was about telling a story. Everything you collect add to the story and lore of the world that was once was. This is why I love this game, it have great combat and side quests but it remains focused on telling a story.
@berice4390
@berice4390 28 дней назад
@@nokturn882 I do touch on the npc interactions but it doesn’t feel that meaningful to eves journey, the comparison you made to terminator the game doesn’t have any meaningful growth from the interactions had and feels disjointed. There is nothing I personally took away from it.
@nokturn882
@nokturn882 28 дней назад
@@berice4390what you mean it doesn’t add to her story. It made her realize how much suffering these people have endured and how they struggled to survive. It also add to her journey by slowly revealing the truth about their diety and how much people believe in their deity only for everything to be a lie. If you interact with the npcs, they express their care for a love one who went missing or who have been lost to them. Eve never had these emotions until meeting them. My terminator reference is only apply to her knowledge of human emotions and morals. Which terminator and eve lack knowledge. That comparison ends there.

The game is great a solid game 8/10. For me the only thing it needs to be a masterpiece is longevity and depth. It’s not a short game but it could be a little longer with three open world maps to explore rather than just two. Also there are tons of places across both maps where there could be elaborate dungeons with some puzzles and rare variants of bosses at the end, similar to how Elden rings map works. All of this could be addressed in an expansion which I think would really benefit the game. Then comes the depth part, writing is solid but can have weak points in character emotional development which they could have explained with slightly better writing. For me it makes sense that eve is a little emotionally void because she was born and raised to kill and die. they could have explored that aspect and had her start to understand what being human really means while building emotional relationships with her friends and community. Which she does do just could have been written better. This is something they will need to do in a sequel but it can be done and the lore has some great potential to be built upon and with some good writers its narrative could really become something special. But just overall it’s a 8/10 game would absolutely recommend it, playing it you can definitely see the potential it had to be a masterpiece and hopefully if a sequel is explored they can build on the weak points of the game which aren’t many.

Umm... when was Stellar Blade ever "hyped"? Almost all reviews of the game said it was pretty good, with a few saying the game wasn't all that great. Then the demo was released... people played it... then they gave their various opinions, I assume honestly. That is not "hype". Here is one definition of the word "hype" per Oxford's Dictionary... "To promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its importance or benefits." I saw a lot of youtube reviews of the demo that were almost all positive. What I didn't see was "hype". If you want real hype, just listen to donnie trump when he refers to himself... "I'm actually a really good-looking guy! Some people say Kamala is better looking than me... naw, no chance. LOL" Now THAT is some next level HYPE!

I actually became obsessed with the game and didnt stop til i hit plat and i absolutely love the voice acting for a vast majority. I found the story intriguing especially towards the end immediately wanting to know more. I found myself excited to find another data stick to discover more lore.

Totally valid, I think for me the story was very predictable especially if you played other games similar to this such as nier. The end definitely is where the game shines but even then stumbles a bit.

@berice4390 well it certainly did a number on me. It sounds odd to say but I hold a special place in my heart for raven even tho she did go coo-coo bananas. I also actually appreciated the open world zones. Especially because i didn't feel like I had a checklist to do like rebirth(as much as I love the game) I dunno I've really been feeling what south Korea has been putting out lately even if it isn't as polished as western games.

9:28 Actually the library is memorable because "Lick the plug", as well as "The crack is quite deep". This is a solid game. As a non "Souls" player I enjoyed that it leaned slightly more towards "Hack&Slash", especially when you're max level. I hope they keep it that way in a possible sequel.

It's good. 8 out of 10. Could use a better story. The lore is there, it just wasn't written well into the story. Could have better biomes. Two massive desert/wasteland areas just became boring. I wish xion felt more alive, it felt empty and dull even though their are people walking around. The combat and music is really where this game shines. The costumes are great too, but the censorship really ticked me off. Both sony and the devs are to blame for the censorship. Overall, it's worth checking out.

8/10 it ain’t perfect but it is a solid game. It’s only real problem is the censorship, had they just kept the game the way it was it would have just been a regular decent game but the second they changed it boy did they put a fire under it

I touched on it in my video but this game is from a Korean studio. The English VA’s are not the first pick. They can’t fit Korean sentences into English sentences so there’s some dialogue that feels awkward and that’s a product of that.
