Was This DPS DDoSing The Lobby?: Kiriko and Moira Gameplay - Overwatch 2

This was the weirdest thing! If you know anything about DDosing pls explain more about how it works and if this was simply a sever issue. Also if my gameplay is off forgive me lol I was convinced I would dc at any second. Sorry that's all I have from the dps POV, I would have watched more of the replay but I was in a queue and found a game and then the game was patched so I wasn't able to watch again :/ also sorry if you were looking forward to Mercy gameplay haha

Just judging that the DPS seem to be just fine during the attack; I'd likely assume it was the Genji. They "played it off" when it first started happening but who pops blade when they are lagging? and how do they have ult when everyone was lagging and impossible to build ult? I would send this to blizz support and report the player.

Yeah, no, it was a DDos. How Genji INSTANTLY had their ult in just a few minutes of the match and they & Sojourn were able to still kill through the chaos raised a bunch of Metal Gear Solid exclamation points. 👁️👄👁️

I love in overwatch when people are lagging everyone just stops and talks to each other over match chat or they flail around trying to murder each other

Playing tracer / genji into a high-glitch scenario is suspicious enough. In the second round, All of your teammates adapted by playing aoe heroes who dont need aim while they are playing (including your kiri, who was tracking heals) And yet they choose to be TRACER?? In THAT lag?? And are curiously unaffected? You could barely move while they are blinking around highground (highly fall-offable??) That’s SUSPICIOUS

100% the Tracer/Genji DDOSing the lobby. Once is by chance, twice especially when your holding good? That's not by chance. This seems pretty similar to the ones I've experienced in Apex. I'm sorry this was a match you had, hopefully that person gets banned

I had this same experience: We started fine, after a few minutes we start lagging hard, but everyone in the enemy team was killing and building ultimate, etc, and our team, all lagging, but at different moments (we were premades in voice), and that was even more weird, because if it was a server problem, it would probably be all players in the game, at the same time.

after last update I cant even sit in lobby, it loses connection to servers every 1 minute and less, same happened in match and game give me penalty for this, it dont even let me to try to recconect...

When was this? I had a similar game maybe Friday on a control map, our lag was about that bad for most of the first map and then fixed itself, but the server finally crashed just as the game was ending so we couldn't watch the replay. I wonder if it was a server issue but maybe not everyone was affected for some reason? We also were suspicious of the tracer on the other team, but again the server crashed so we couldn't watch the replay.

Honestly, I'm not convinced the Genji was hacking/cheating. Him standing still doesn't necessarily mean anything. He did it just as the lag started, which could have been him stopping to type into team chat about the lag or just waiting to see if it stopped. Then he jumps into your backline and proceeds to miss every shot. It looked to me like he was suffering the effects like everyone else. The Bastian got a few shots in on him, does that mean Bastian was cheating too? The lag happened multiple times. You should have shown his POV at the start of ALL the lag spikes if you were trying to build a case against him. Otherwise, I'm not convinced. Furthermore, DDoS/packet flood attacks wouldn't benefit ANY player, since the cheating player would be attacking the server... which the cheating player would be connected to as well. Someone could packet flood a server to try to shut it down or trigger the match to end or something, but not to give themselves any kind of advantage.

Thanks for explaining that kindly! I don't know the logistics of DDoS. That makes sense, that's why I wasn't totally convinced either. I wasn't really trying to make a case against him, I mentioned in the description that wasn't able to get some more footage of his pov. I just thought it was interesting no matter what was really happening because I've never had server issues so bad that didn't result in the game just ending!

This happened a lot to me and i thought my net is bad ... ME server full of hackers ngl I've seen alot and no one report them when i notice it. Guess i will use vpn from now on

A VPN wouldn't stop a server attack like a packet flood/DDoS. Nobody can get your IP address from Overwatch except Blizzard. Using a VPN will only add latency to your connection and ironically make your games more laggy.
