the whole world.... needs more kobe shoes... not for collection, like something we can hop and go crazy with... just the tech is so perfect for playing...
back in 2016-2017, a bunch of professional players all over the world wore this Kobe 11. Such a cool shoe, remind me about the very enjoyable time with basketball & highschool friends
Absolutely loved that Kobe 11 Elite colorways, was fortunate to get each of the Muse ones. The Tinker one is by far my favorite, because kobe loved the 3s
My all-time favorite performance shoe and that's why I still own twenty pairs. They originally released in February '16. Kobe was playing in the X Elite Low at the beginning of the season until closer to release date of the XI Elite Low. My first pair were the Warrior Spirit "Bruce Lee" and I put in over 1200 hours into those. The outsole never faltered. Always bit hard.
Kobes are awesome! Back in 2017 I went crazy and bought a few, and I've loved them since then: Kobe 11 Sunset, Kobe 11 ID Black Mamba Day with Full Zoom, Kobe 11 ID Multicolors with Full Zoom, Kobe AD NXT 😍
Kobes colorways had great story’s to them. One of my favorite Kobe 11 colorways were the mambacurials which were supposed to look like football boots. Awesome shoe, want a protro sooo badly, one that’s actually attainable🙏‼️
the Kobe 11 would be phenomenal as a Protro model because all they need to do is improve the cushioning by making the entire drop-in insole with zoom cushion like they did with Nike ID colorways and provide some new colorways along with some of the originals
Appreciate the knowledge on the G.T. Cut. Always heard that story going around as well and think that’s part of the hype around them and keeping resale so high. Good to get some clarification
I always wanted this pair, I just thought the Nike on the back was awesome, so glad you got these, each shoe that year has its own name and story behind it, Kobe was always such a detail oriented person and it was great to see I need to find some 11’s for myself to complete my later year models
I love these Kobe 11 Tinker! I still have my pair, in fact I’m gonna rock em today. Also just picked up the 88-89 collection off Since Apparel. Love the channel guys!
I did a NikeID for these bad boys to resemble the fade to black colorway that he wore in his final game. However, I added the full length zoom drop in. Best decision ever and I switch those into my 8s and 9s to hoop in. I would say the 11s are still some of my all time favorites to hoop in!
No, the Kobe logo placement on the tongue is perfect. Any lower and when you lace em up, the laces will sit on the logo. But the way they are placed, you can see them fully
I remember buying the purple ones on christmas eve for $50 at shoe palace when i was in middleschool and I ran them through the ground, on the bright side I never tossed them because it had sentimental value even before Kobe's death
I still think the 7s are underrated. You can actually feel the cushion with each step. The modular system needed work of course. And had some great colors as well.
I loved the way the 7's looked but they destroyed my feet. Maybe would have felt better after they broke in but was in too much pain to care. Wish I still had my poison dart frogs 7's looking back though.
With the way the tongue slides down the logo is in the best spot to see it while wearing it. I doubled up on this color way as well as the Bruce Lee’s. I actually bought every color I could find for retail just like the 8.
I remember I got the Kobe 11 EM Draft Day from an outlet for $60 back in the day. Had to sell them off because I needed the money but man do I miss that shoe.
I recently bought the nike kobe 11 4kb white horse colorway last month for my birthday, one of my favorite performing basketball sneakers of all time imo, the traction is great, upper feels nice and soft once broken in (which doesnt take that long), and the solid rubber outsole provides incredible traction, also one of my favorite looking basketball shoes in my collection
For wide footers, you could go TTS but you’d need to re-lace them first. That’s what I did before I gave mine away. But casually going a half size up for sure works for wide footers too.
@@dyewr4412 it might fit a little long but it shouldn’t be too long for you. Just make sure to play with the lacing so that way you’re locked into the shoe
I was not a fan of this shoe on court. I felt like all I did was slip in a 24 hour fitness with these. Absolutely love the shoe design I still have my BHM and Court Purple colorway with the 8 and 24 on the back.
I remember these, I seem to remember that they were initially marketed as kind of a tribute to Tinker. I remember seeing him in some of the early media surrounding these. Yeah, I would agree, these are probably the last great Kobes. It seems like after the 11's, Nike started "experimenting" with the line, trying new things. Some were good, others not so much. Great video and storytelling from Weartesters!
Before everybody needed to have kobes, I bought 3 pairs at Burlington, long time ago, and the one I liked the most was the kobe XI elite low. Love'em. Still DS...
Hi there. Really loving your channel for so many years. Kinda made me sad to learn you cut down on the shoe reviews, but I understand the feeling of slowing down on being able to play like before. I just wanna share a little theory I have on the GT line of shoes. I always thought that they were a futuristic offshoots to the 3 signature lines of shoes(Kobe, KD, and LeBron). GT cut/Kobe, GT run/KD, and the GT jump/LeBron... Would love to hear your thoughts about it. More success to you and the wifey!!!
I've recently been hooping again in my Kobe 11 Elite "Master of Innovation" colorway. It has a diamond shaped patch on the back of the right shoe with 8 stars along the edge, and then right in the middle it has a 96-03. I think those are the years he wasn't signed with Nike. Always thought that was an odd story for Nike to tell. But either way, I love the shoes.
I still have my Achilles pair wish I’d purchase more. The traction on my pair was solid. Never experienced any slipping. I would still like to get another pair in the future.
I just want the Budget Kobe lines to come back man, the Venomenons and Mamba Mentality line were good budget shoes to ball in, I hope Nike brings those back.
I can't remember if the Mentality 1 and 2s were after these, in that case, to me those 2 silhouettes were the last "good" Kobes performance wise, only that they weren't main line and the drop ins were pretty meh. Other than that, the traction and upper was made to last, and funny enough they hold up better than my 8s, 9s, and 11s including the Elite versions lol. Slap on them a set of Lebron 11s or Nike IDs (remember when?) full length zoom drop ins and maaaaan 🤌🤌
Had the Easter and Bruce Lee's but sold both because they were a bit too narrow to play in. Wide footers I'd suggest avoiding. I'm still balling in my Kobe 9s!
my junior year of high school i found a pair of the kobe 11 elite bhm colorway at the vacaville nike store on the hash wall and i was stoked, they’re still me go to hoop shoe to this day. Now i just have to hope that they don’t bust on me any time soon
My favorite shoe to ball in is my Bruce Lee 9's. I have the black space 11's but the translucent rubber sole makes playing in them an adventure. Lol, sometimes I stick to the floor and sometimes I won't.
I have the exact same pair of shoes, they were my favorite until I completely wore them out. Still have them even if they have no more traction, can literally slide with them like I'm on ice or something 😂. I'm a huge Kobe fan tho, so I couldnt get myself to throw them away even tho they're useless now
I liked the Kobe 11 so much to the point that I picked up 5 different colorways. One of them was the EM version. I just preferred the Elite because of the thicker upper (Flyknit with TPU yarn) and heel Zoom.
Just picked up a clean pair of 8s off of eBay for just about retail, it’s worth checking out the listings to try and find Kobes! There’s usually a ton of them posted
Thanks for the video! Unfortunately I feel as if so many people think they love Kobe’s just bc he passed like they are chasing clout They don’t realize the significance of his shoes in the basketball world
I still wear these. My top 3 shoe of all time. Comfort and traction on another level. KD14 was the only shoe recently that took me away from these bad boys. But now they're so effin expansive on ebay etc.. I paid $350AUD on release. Good times. Great video 👌🏽
Just ordered the '88 and '89 t-shirts. Now I can't wait to get those bad mam-a jam-a's. I just got the Jordan 3 'free-throws and I have the 4 white cements. Those shirts and shoes will be a match made in heaven.
I still have my kobe 11 em carpe diems, and i loved them with the translucent outsole, they did slip on real dusty courts, but it was never to the point where i was like damn im gonna hurt my self, i had to really break them in and they are great. But if you play somewhere humid like Florida courts, they grip like crazy
Only Kobe 11s I had were from this pack. I have this one (black cement) and the brave blue. Only thing I didn’t love were the laces on the tinker pair. I know it’s a full tribute to the bc3 but i didn’t like the feeling of tying them with the flat laces. Wish they did the rope laces like on the brave blues. Black rope with 3m dots or grey dots fire
I agree that the translucent sole wasn’t the best, especially on a dirty floor. I still love the 11s, wish they can eventually bring them back. People want crazy prices for them now.
Man wish they start dropping some Kobe’s after the new deal. Wonder what’s coming next. I have the carpe diem EM and absolutely love the translucent traction. But I do play on fairly clean court
Just to reiterate definitely don’t get the translucent outsole i have a pair love them the comfort is amazing everything is good about the shoe besides the traction is completely absent for that reason i never hoop in them and it sucks
I still have my pair in the BHM colorway, came with the solid rubber multi color flyknit. I wish I sized up cause my pinky toes hurt after a couple of hours. I still love the shoe
"Tinker Hatfield is behind some of Nike’s biggest sneaker icons and technology, from the Air Jordan line to visible Air and beyond. Still helping innovate today, Tinker now lends his expertise to the Kobe 11 Elite. His talents ignite the Kobe 11 in traditional fashion with a cool grey, university red and black color scheme. In true Tinker form, the heel is adorned with a "Shark skin" like pattern inspired by both Bryant and Hatfield's love for sharks."
Hello I was wondering I’ve always been in the market for Kobe’s to play in but I can never find any that seem playable is there any sellers you can recommend that sell Kobe’s I can wear on the court.
As a long time Kobe fan my favorite kobes to hoop in are the kobe 3s i bought 3 pairs in the same colorway because i liked them that much. Been eyeing the kobe 11s fade to black series ever since Kobe's last game but prices are stupid. Seems like at this point they're out of reach unless i hit on 2 grail jordans and can make a trade for them, maybe still add a little cash on top.
This color way set up is lit. My curiosity is if these are potential bad boys or not since this is the first time I see you not open with saying so 😜. Great info on the tech.
