The mental image of Edward going home and frantically googling search terms like "what can give a person super strength" and "can a human stop a car" the evening after the parking lot incident to create a cover story and make sure it's google-able is funny enough to rescue the whole movie imo
I never noticed till now but its so funny how Edward calls Romeo an idiot for killing himself because he thought Juliet was dead and then he does the EXACT SAME THING.
The thing that infuriates me about Jacob as a character is that he’s not really Bella’s friend at all. He’s a Nice Guy who constantly waits around and pleads for Bella to be with him, and threatens to abandon her, kill himself, anything to get intimate with her. News flash: Anyone who’s your friend only on the condition that they’ll get physical intimacy from you, is NOT your friend. And someone like Bella who wants you to keep pining after them so they can keep you on a leash as their friend, is not your friend. You need to cut off from them
Yeah but Bella was in love with Jacob and was toying with his emotions. In the book she describes Jacob as “her sun “ and he brings her so much warmth and happiness. Even in the movies she had so much more chemistry with Jacob than Edward. She always seemed pissed off and nervous around Edward. She was two timing Edward for sure. Also Jacob was actually 16 so of course he was immature, but Edward had NO excuse to be acting the way he was. He was over 100 years old!!
@@firstthings_first9828 But he still manipulated her, told her he would kill himself, just to get a kiss, knowing she doesn't want to. and, assaulted her. and imprinted on a baby. Did I mentioned that he assaulted her? Nor did he ever care for her and everything he did For her" was just with the goal to get was he wanted. He hurt her, whenever it get him what he wants. The fact that bella was a bad person woo.. doesn't make him any less horrible.
@@fee6362 Doesn't make him less horrible at all, its not a competetion, just gives him an excuse. A teenager is not really supposed to make emotionally mature decisions at all, but they are also not supposed to be violent, he is allowed to sulk and maybe even passive aggressiveness is understandable, but not forcing himself on her. It doesn't make it right, but it does give more context. I know I was pretty horrible as a teenager, did things I can't even bear to think about, and that I never thought I would do. Those wacky hormones are strong.
@@asthajindal5275 We should just agree all three of the main characters are terrible people, and I can't understand wtf they find so attractive about each other, besides good looks ofc
She does. But shes mostly in the 1st and 2nd ones and even then hardly ever. She's done so much shit since then and twilight is so old it isn't that surprising to be honest. I've got medals in sports I forgot I forgot I did and I spent months training in them. Humans aint shit lmao
just yesterday i watched the first movie for the first time with my roommate who had a whole twilight phase. my roomie was adamant that charlie is the real catch, and i have to say i agree
In today’s world these vampires could pass as normal humans like they’d sparkle in the sun and we’d all think they were wearing some kind of expensive highlighter
41:23 The scene where Bella's mom starts crying and Alice pulls out a tissue so fast is actually really funny to me. Alice can see the future, so she knew that she was going to need a tissue; she probably had that thing on standby
Also their first kiss was so awkward and slow because Robert Pattinson thought the script said Bella makes the first move... so he was just waiting lol (I may or may not have listened to the dvd commentary)
@@rhiannenlmao4401 directors really prize catching the first kiss take in one take, so it feels more like what a first kiss actually looks like. That awkward ness is more like how first kisses are in real life
William H actually, that's only like 1/20 percent of that. Official people who study the affects of abuse literally said that he emotionally manipulates her in every way in the book
Nah after watching this again she was hoeing both of them Edward just smarter cause he old she said “kiss me” when he gave up finally. Jacob truly loves her so he’s gonna manipulate she just depressed.
I just...realised..."if it's a boy, EJ" that baby almost had Jacob's name he imprinted on a baby that literally almost had his name alongside the actual father's name. All these years later and this singular plot point continues to haunt me.
Honestly it’s disgusting how the creator of Twilight didn’t see anything wrong about Jacob imprinting on a literal BABY, it’s so f***ed and they try to pass it off as cute🤮
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I want a version of this movie where the dad realized his daughter was messing around with vampires and werewolves. Going full doom slayer on them.
In defense of bella, she's being manipulated by EVERYONE in these books. She's not manipulating jacob when she asks him to kiss her, he's threatening suicide to get her to kiss him and "give him a chance". He's not a good friend at all...
He doesn’t do it to get her to “give him a chance” he does because it’s the only thing he has left he hopes that if he can get Bella to admit that she has feelings for him then maybe it will change her mind from becoming a vampire he thinks maybe if she realizes she has feelings for him (which she does) maybe it would change her mind
@@desaririaz1302 it's still really manipulative and toxic, and doesn't respect her choice or boundaries. Plus, he goes on to basically fall in love with her CHILD. Talk about awkward at least...
@@SamIAmWichyeah Jacob messed up he made mistakes he’s a human he’s a TEENAGER it was wrong but he had a reason and Jacob always was there for Bella and Bella said it was like home sickness when she wasn’t with him he always respected her and knew what she wanted she says it was like he could read her mind even though he couldn’t if you wanna talk about boundaries though Edward constantly going against what she wanted never respected her never cared about her thoughts wants and needs he was very controlling and somehwhat abusive Edward stops her car from working just to stop her from seeing Jake even though that’s what she wanted Edward held her back when trying to hug Jake he said he would give alive a Porsche to literally hold Bella hostage while he was gone hunting to not see Jake she was being held against her will wasn’t allowed to use a phone and was basically like a little doll to Alice it even says in new moon when they were voting Edward go so mad he grabbed her face and pulled it toward her and he was holding so tight her words came out distorted so yeah Jacob messed up it wasn’t right but at least he understood her and respected her knew what she liked payed attention and liked her for her but you wanna talk about respecting boundires let’s talk about the 100 year old mine constantly manipulating her controlling her and never respecting her
@@SamIAmWich oh yeah and it wasn’t his fault at all for the imprinting it wasn’t in his control and Stephanie meyers was honestly really messed up doing that to him but it’s not like he chose to do it and it’s also not falling in love it’s whatever she needs him to be protector guardian friend brother it’s not always romantic
And edward telling her to stay away from him then constantly going after her and trying to talk to her 🤦♀️ didn't put any effort to stay away himself and then right after she got attached he escaped
One thing that ALWAYS confused me in the last film is how did Charlie not question or get freaked out about how quickly his granddaughter was growing up?? 😂 I know he makes a comment on how much she’s grown when they turn up at his house, but come on, she had developed to a grown child in a few months right!?!?!?
i think in the books it's implied he knows it's something supernatural but knows not to question it because Jacob warns him when he reveals himself. he saw the boy turn into a wolf, what is a child growing years in a few months?
he's like... completely dazed and broken down especially after Jacob revealing his wolf form, I think. but yeah it makes no sense but that's how I justify it lmao
He was told he didn't have to know everything so he stopped questioning it Plus the Vulturis would've killed him if anyone had told him they were vampires
it really hurt to rewatch as an adult and find bella has 0 character development, she constantly hurts her dad, ignores boundaries edward and jacob put in place for her/their safety, and ultimately is just the placeholder for stephanie meyer to insert herself a story about men fighting over her.
Bro you probably don’t even know he did a whole marathon of him watching the entire Harry Potter series. That was like around 22 hours worth of movie but it’s only 22 minutes 😂
The weird thing about the Vampire babies is that just because they look older doesn't mean they have the knowledge of their visual age, which means the Vampire hybrid baby probably shouldn't be able to talk. Since they didn't learn
If I recall, in the Illustrated Guide Smeyer says that hybrids are born with the mental capacity of a human adult (ew), so they learn things super fast compared to human babies. I just checked, and it says this: "The hybrid mind develops much faster than the physical body; a hybrid has the mental capacity of an adult human by the time of her birth. Hybrids learn quickly to communicate with their caretakers, picking up their first language mere weeks after birth."
@@betterpinkthanbloody Eww. Pfúj. That's disgusting - also pretty tragic; missing out on emotional and developmental milestones, as well as being essentially trapped in your helpless body while being fully aware of it. Awful.
@@rkah6187 no that genuinely terrifies me 😭😭 imagine being 2 months old and having the capacity to talk & understand EVERYTHING but you still cannot defend yourself or even remotely take care of yourself… yeah I hate it.
In my second to last year of school, I had a class called "mythology in literature". It was sort of a prep class for university, where we learned how to properly work with sources and write term papers for the humanities. On the first day, our teacher came in: "VAMPIRES do NOT glitter! That encroaches on my worldview!" Good times... I loved that class.
While hilarious, a mythology teacher should know that mythology in literature is a living canon that continues to be added to. It may be ridiculous, but once Twilight became infamous it became a touchstone in vampire literature just as much as Nosferatu. Vampire and werewolf mythology in particular has no original version that has most of what we now consider staples of their myths; people kept adding to it through literature, movies and media, and some thing stuck while others faded away
I gotta give you cred- you nailed exactly why I liked Twilight as a young teen. Like Bella, I was a boring, average looking, reserved teenage girl. The idea that some godlike boy could find me desperately interesting, beautiful, and special (ie not like other girls) was like crack to me. Of course, with some maturing and self-esteem I learned I didn't need someone else to drop into my life and validate my worth. The world is quite hard on teen girls- I appreciate you mocking the material while acknowledging why young girls would find value in it.
My favorite cringe scene is, "I used to be...a..good..kid". 😬 Also, that was definitely Jacob manipulating Bella. He told her he was gonna go die. He was literally threatening suicide to get her attention.
Yeah but’s it’s basically exactly the same as 50 shades. They just changed a few things. I still could 50 shades as a fanfic and EL James writing “Grey” from Christians perspective is just cruel. She should be able to come up with something by her self.
I've suffered through these movies. 3 things I can't get over: the totally unrealistic post-Dawson's Creek depiction of teenagers, the cop-out that is making the epic battle jut a vision so none of the Cullens dies and the utter cop-out that is Renesmee (so that Jacob can have a happy ending).
The worst thing about the CGI baby is that they did have a real baby on set, and it was a super cute kid. They thought facial continuity was more important than a baby that looked even close to real. Odd choice.
56:47 They did not dub over his laugh in the German version. His voice actor knew he could not surpass this

In the book from Edward’s perspective apparentely talks about it and they don’t react to it, because it’s ‘dead’ or something. Saw that somewhere... :)
Anna Jovita Smet to be scientifically correct, period blood can be blood that is “old” which would be darker. It is never “dead” though as the cells only die when they dry out
That would explain the moment when he looked repulsed at her when she entered the science lab room. Hahaha she started puberty and it got awkward from there.
Karsyn zzstu Beauchamp exactly! Also, mind you that by the time the child looked 11, she was like a couple weeks old, soooo...by the time that she looks 18 she would probably be like 6 years or less, happy thinking!
Fucking thank you! I lived in a small town and when I tell you, there was a new kid? We instantly invite them in. My class was the smallest in the school but we all knew each others business. We may not have been friends but we were classmates and that meant that everybody's got a buddy. Everywhere. Nobody was ever alone. And it was great
Imagine walking up to a family - one which you have never met - having a picnic, and you're just like "Mmm, you brought a snack", and attempted to just eat their food.
I’m watching this at work and I’m embarrassed by the amount of times I’ve busted up laughing throughout this video. She’s “super dead” killed me! 😅 no pun intended. This is the best review of the movies I’ve ever seen!

the most unrealistic thing about twilight is that four people who are frozen at seventeen would choose to go to highschool for all eternity, when they could just as easily go to college
Pretty sure they do both. Go through highschool and college until they start to look too young and switch to new identities. That would make sense as starting younger would allow them to stay with the same identities, in the same place for longer. Plus repeating highschool is probably pretty chill for them. They're too powerful and confident to care about bullies or social drama and they already know everything so it's low effort and they can probably pass even if they frequently skip classes.
actually they go to highschool and college. in the books edward explains that the sooner their lives starts in some place more time they spend in it, he also says that’s why he has 2 degrees in medicine
@@Evija3000 They do both. That's why Edward has 2 medical degrees. The books and movies explain why they go to highschool. They younger they pretend to be when they move to a new place, the longer they can stay.

Virginia Fernandez yeah I know. That’s why him saying “you fell in love with a month old semen” doesn’t make sense. If anything he was in love with the egg which still doesn’t make sense. But he didn’t fall in love with the semen cause if he did he would have been in love with Edward which is my point I know sperm die off.
@@hechernandez Do you think that means if Bella had a child with anyone else Jacob would imprint on the kid anyway?
